We got a new today. Thunder, our 13 year old one died late January. WE had planned to get a kitten, but instead got one from the humane society that is seven months old. We've had her now for a few hours and here are some of her characteristics:

Mostly black, some white
She's a talker
Loud purr
Affectionate
Will sit on your lap
Lays on her back on your lap to be rubbed
Will perch on your shoulder
Has a black beard
Green eyes
She has been spayed
Her photo is attached

No heavy metal band names please; probably no band names in general. Not that anyone here would name a cat after a band. ;)

In any case we are open to suggestions and I will post whaever name we choose.
Spoiler old cat names :

Names of cats we've had in the past:
Mr bojangles
Catapult
Caterpiller
Grover
Witch
Ilonka
Bismarck
Fredrick
Ebeneezer
Scribner
Toulouse
Random
Tammy
Thunder

BCLG: Ah, I see you picked on the German period we went through.

My wife rejected Dim Sum, Stroke (the cat) is pretty interesting. We probaby won't go back to the German names again.

That is one amazing looking cat Bird.
Definately wouldn't want to mess with that one.
Very slinky.
Very deamnding for the right name... have to think...

I propose Subi :yeah:

There is no rush Mathilda; this could take a few days easy.

There's a whole host of verbs you could put in place of 'Stroke' (though it's my favourite.) I only put the (the cat) in so you'd appreciate the double meaning. Definately one of my favourite names for a cat, though I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.

No, I was thinking more along the lines of the acronym for SuperBeaverInc. (SuBI) :p

Clever Perf strikes again. There might be a gender problem though. I'm not sure my wife will approve. I'll get back to you on it.

Emoen.

or perhaps

Mailar.

A little explanation would be a huge help with such esoteric names. :p
