NaNoWriMo 2015

6k and I haven't written anything today yet.
The story sort of starts to live in its own after you create enough of it and ideas just pop out of nowhere.

I never plan my stories and this one is no exception, it sort of develops on its own and I'm just writing it down.

I wanted one of the MCs to be a serious, grim guy, almost creepy and after a few hundred words, he starts joking and I'm writing it down and laughing my ass off. How crazy does that sound?

5050. A day behind, but nothing substitutes quality prose. Current chapter has some interesting narrative structure, so I'm slowing down to get the scene breaks and tone right. Should turn out fantabulous.

Got to 20.5k today, so also another 5k day. I'm almost halfway to 50k at this point. D:

How these words keep appearing out of nowhere I have no idea. I originally did ~4k words and was gonna call it a day but then I decided to man up and try to continue to keep up my average of ~5k a day.

Tomorrow's a real busy day, though, so I don't think I will be able to make it to ~25k, but we'll see. Stranger things have happened.

When my novel becomes famous you can write a fanfic about how he's a virginal hot dad who's just waiting to be corrupted and deflowered by some special guy out there.

(Okay to be honest though he's straight. :/)

But wait a moment, if you like hot Asian guys, maybe you can help me a bit here since I'm having difficulty imagining him.... You don't mind if we talk about hot Asian guys elsewhere?

Eclipsed 15k so far today, which is good, as I've eclipsed the 1667 required 4 out of 5 days so far. My novel is... well, it is a thing, that exists. I don't know that it's even remotely good, considering I am worse at novels than short stories, and those suck massively too. But if I had 1000 times the talent, I think it would make for a good read. I can dream.

I'm...doing it, I guess. I'm seriously not enthused about my idea. I probably should have devoted more time to thinking about it.

Basically, my idea is SimCity / The Sims fanfic. When SimCity has a sudden rash of alien abductions, zombie invasions, and all the other fantastical stuff from the series, Mayor Defacto appoints a commission to find out why. The answer is that someone has figured out they're computer people and have managed to start manipulating the game like the player does.

6374. Just finished a rough of a smutty scene. Smut is hard writing to make both smutty and not gratuitous. That does bring my novel total to 63k, though. Only... 110k to go!

Passed 30k today after writing 5k so far, hope to get maye a thousand or two more tonight. Starting to really get into the themes now, especially the Asian-American stuff.

~8500. Which is +619 for today so far. Fell somewhat behind, but got plenty of time to make it up. Goal tonight is 10k.

EDIT: +1000 for the day so far.

5.5k words today, was hoping to see if I could get to 6k but good enough. I'm about a hundred words short of 38k and at approximately the halfway point of my novel plot-wise, so I'm expecting this to be around the ballpark of 70-80k words at this rate.

I did not hit 10k, stopping at 9300. Slow and steady wins the race. Of course, my current project is rapidly approaching 70k words, and I could write faster if I wanted a rougher first draft. But I do not this time. Too far in for that.

Reached 50k last night, so yay I won yadda yadda. Currently sitting at 50.5k and only about 2/3 through my novel's plot (the 50k mark nicely coincides with an important scene, the one where my female MC observes her virginal hot dad, the male MC, successfully ask out his love interest). So I still got quite a while to go, sadly.

I just deleted 1500 and rewrote it as 900, so I'm -600 and was already 10k behind. Don't fret it.
