Nazi religion?

Has anybody created a religion for Hitler? I always have him in my game to crush but he either picks Judaism which is crazy or Christianity if I have it, I want him to have his own and that he hates mine.

(I never know which c&c forum to post in).

If you want a Nazi religion you would have to edit one of the other religions, which means you would have to make a mod, and you would also have to edit the gamefont file too. Which is annoying and difficult.

If you just don't want Hitler to be Jewish, make his favorite religion Christianity or whatever you want and play with the choose religion option selected.

And this should be in the main creation and customization forum.

Nazism Is not a religion. Hitler had a catholic upbringing by his parents but was not religious as an adult. If you wanted to make your game as realistic as possible, make a catholic religion and make him favourite that but make free relegion his favourite civic so thus later on he "drops" catholism

Or you could just make him favor Christianity, which he probably does if you used previously created XML for him. All you have to do is select 'choose religions' in the options and he'll select Christianity if it is available. To be honest though I'm kind of surprised Germany even gets to found a religion in your games, they don't start with Mysticism, and I don't think their leaders are coded to really go after religions as much as a lot of the other ones are.

I would recommend having Christianity for Hitler, since he was Christian at least early in his career as a Nazi.

Thanks for the answers but this has gone way off topic from my question. All I wanted to know is if anybody had created a "religion" in the game for the nazis, I cannot have them as Christian as this is what I always choose as I am, they can't be Judaism either which is what Hitler in my games keeps choosing, in other words, take Taoism and change the name and symbol.

Yeah, I know, and I also answered your question in my first post. That's what you have to do, edit the religion XML files, and alter the gamefont.tga files with the new symbol, which I assume would be a Swastika (although you might just want to put a fasces and call it "fascism" so it could be used by other leaders too).

Just a text editor. I recommend textpad.

You don't *NEED* anything, you could use notepad if you want. A text editor does make it easier, but honestly you could use anything you want. All you have to do is change some text around.

Not only that, but Hitler was not an athiest, he was a Christian!

Things are actually a little more complicated. While the Nazis were conservatives in the sense that they wanted to return their country to its former glory, and they had the support of many of the elite land barons in Germany, and they indeed hated communism, they were also self-declared socialists, of sorts. Ideological differences from communism had less to do with actual policies and more to do with theories--the Nazis believed in believed in glorifying the state and its largest ethnicity; communism believed national differences should be abolished in favor of solidarity among workers.

Now to get back on topic, I'm thinking of making a mod that adds new religions based on fascism and communism to the game, considering there actually were states with totalitarian governments based on such ideologies. But besides adding religions, there's a bit that needs to be done to make leaders favor the favorite religion coded in their XML much more strongly. In fact, I'm going to make a thread about that.

Hitler's main concern was how do I become more powerful (like most politicians worldwide ). Religion is a good way to control the masses so if you control the Religion you control the masses (this is why Marx called Religion the "opiate of the masses"). Hitler sort to exert control over the Church and the Pope because Roman Catholicism brought with it the history of the Holy Roman Empire, the Teutonic knights and the Greater Germany and as the majority Religion it was most suited to his purpose. His hatred of Judaism was mainly that it was the minority Religion and therefore a convenient tool in the system of control (divide and rule). The Soviet Union's control system was mainly based in making all differences one, except in the struggle of class against class. For Hitler, I think the names of the Religions are not important as long as there are two; I would focus on civics more, something like Police State, Vassalage, State Property and Theocracy.
Though, if you want to have it Historically accurate you'll have to mod it, or download a suitable mod but is being Historically accurate what is about?
