From Your Humble Petioner, Radat Huli

I am Radat Huli, a humble commander from the Nationalist forces. I wish out of thirst for knowledge to know the nature of your Great Civilisation from outer space. What is it, and why have you not contacted us?

I have speculated that you have some sort of "Prime Directive" not to interfere, but it is already broken now. Please do not deny this humble soul the knowledge he seeks- or if you do not, at least explain why you do not.

The satellite dish which transmitted this petition is perpetually set to recieve any message from your people. Pelase, do not deny us.

What? I get little troops, a bad start (I'm surrounded by superpowers) and now less money? Fine, I'll figure a way out of this. I guess that's what I get for starting a new team.

You're playing as a splinter of a splinter group, and there's only room on the map for so many individual factions :)

If you want fairness you could merge with another faction, although the other player(s) would have to agree, and it would probably trigger more reinforcements appearing to make it fairer on other teams.

You have been devestated by our missiles, and you are outgunned and outnumbered. This is your final warning. Join the Orbital Coalition (and receive excellent health and dental benefits) or DIE. DIE, and leave your children with horribly underfunded Anarchist pension benefits. Do you WANT that for your children? Do you?

So be it. May you take this time to reflect on your wrongdoings and embrace the glorious truth of Anarchism.

Speculations
"Damn it!" cried Radat. "These signals are pathetic!"

He gave an order to a nearby servant. "Improve the signals- we don't want the next message to be so garbled."

Over the new few days, the entire Huli family was attempting to determine the nature of the information. It was probable the aliens had (or believed they had) a superior concept of reality, making their secrets incomphrensible. Young Hoskarl had considered looking up a dictionary on "resonance" but Radat had overrulled him- it was probably only an approximation from their language.

Other matters remained unresolved. Presumably the aliens could learn their language to speak to them, but why broadcast their message to the interloper in human language? Two major possibilties were considered- that the interlopers spoke human language (perhaps an alien child on the planet with powers?) or that the aliens wanted the humans to have more of a clue to the universe.

The first possibility was more likely, but the second more dangerous. Only Radat and his family knew the secrets of the aliens, so whatever could be gleamed from it was theirs alone to exploit. But if the aliens were beginning to clue up the human race, this advantage would be lost.

Commander Radat himself would not have time to speculate for long. The balance of power between himself and General Sogdian politically depended primarily on bestshot9's favor- he would have to be seen to be carrying out his tasks efficently and effectively, or his prospects of promotion were hopeless...

Orders Dispatch from Commander Matt0088 of the 88th Armored:
Spending Orders:
Save both $2 for later turns.

Operational Orders:
1. Move which ever light tank is weaker in F4 to E4 to dig-in and try to repair & regroup.
2. Have the other F5 light tank withdraw from F4 and move to E5 and follow operation "Take Them Dead or Alive."More on that later.
3. Have my D1 trooper move all the way down to G1 and capture a repair robot and move back to F1.

Operation Take Them Dead or Alive:
Objective: The complete elimnation of all enemy troopers currently located in D5 by any means necessary.
Assigned Forces:
2 Light Tanks
2 Troopers
Operational Timeline:
1. All assigned forces will assemble and move to their according locations. The other F4 light tank to E5, the E4 light tank D4, A Charles Li trooper to D4, and a D4 trooper which is already there.
2. Once all assigned forces are in position, they are to deliver a message to the anarchist troopers in D5, which is as follows: "You are surrounded, surrender now and join the Great Red Army and all your lives will be spared. If you chose to fight, then may god have mercy on your souls."
3. If they surrender, then have the E5 light tank move to E4, after which have all forces regroup & repair. If not, then let the attack on the D5 anarchist troopers begin, with the 2 Troopers and light tank attacking from the west and the other light tank attacking from the south. Have the west attacking forces push the anarchist forces into the southern attacking light tank, which should be just holding it ground, through superior firepower and number and then slaughter them in the crossfire. Anything less than the complete destruction of the anarchist troopers is considered failure, due to the fact that we have them outnumbered 2 to 1, have 2 light tanks when they have none, we have outflanked them, and they haven't even dig-in.

OOC: My orders and Charles Li are a tad conflicting, but he is in complete support for this operation. He also agreed to let the Flakker, which he gave no orders to, to dig-in at it's current position.

To Wise Mystic
From HQ Defender 1

Wise mystic, you have resided so long near us. What do you do and what do you want?

Minorly updated orders:
Troops at the airport at C5 should offer protection to the anarchist group in the south from the red army considering they join or at least work with me on future attacks. Keep a close eye on them but be friendly
And message to the mystics: My opponent, the Red Armies, are probably opening communications with you. Do not be fooled by their diplomatic means! They are the enemy! They come to Soldia, wishing to take what has been a glorious country in their greedy hands! Our people want peace and prosperity acrost the land. Who do you listen to? The invaders who tear up Soldia's beautiful lands, or those who will restore what has been? Think carefully upon this decision.
(no offense to Charles or Matt. I just need them.)

Not to be mean Popcornlord, but the editing of your orders based on what you have learned about other's orders is extremely frowned upon here. When the mod wants people to post there orders in the thread he(or she) is really depending on the honor system regarding whether players take advantage of the visable orders. It may even cause mod action.:mischief:

:salute: OK thanks, I now have orders for red, orange and gold armies. If anyone else plans to send orders for this turn, please do so within 24 hours of this post!

@Charles and Popcornlord, the 'Wise Mystic' sends no reply yet :)

@Matt0088, important note: I misunderstood about the ceasefire with the anarchists. The ones in the capitol will not stand by and let you kill their fellow soldiers in the nearby area. If you want to change your orders because of that, I won't punish you for it!

Well yes if there is a big change in orders, I might have the units getting confused during the turn and end up not doing anything :) Also, those who post orders first have the initiative and will be able to take enemy units by suprise, even if the other player can read what is coming...

Special suprise attacks etc can be sent by PM if you really feel the need.

I'll just have the light tank that ends up in E4 and any other troops in the tile dig-in and also repair the infrastructure for the massive amount of troops moving in or near the square. Then have the least damaged F4 light tank move through E4 INSTEAD of F4, then have it move to the northern section of F4. At which it will move into the most northern part of F4 and attack the D5 troopers. Trying not to attract any attention from the Imperial Palace. Which of course, is the goal anytime anyways.

To the men in the airport, they would probably have known of the battle anyways, so I just wanted to update their orders on that. (It's a little hard to ignore an army comming in on one spot). I'll let Daft decide if that makes sense. However, the message to the mystics was a little unfair. Can I take that back?

OK, 24 hours is almost gone, and in the absence of any objections I'm going to start on the next update.

Thought: in the long term, one or more sides NPC'ed along with the anarchists is not much fun... I'd like to keep this fairly fast-paced when I'm not bust with other stuff. So, from now on I will encourage people to send standing orders that can be carried out over a number of turns, or you can PM any secret long-term plans to me, or whatever.

@neverwonagame, I'm going to go with what you told me about bestshot's plans, rather than have blue team do nothing, hope that’s ok :)

Just to let you know, I've done the main map and will hopefully get the update posted within an hour or two.

Turn 5

The true battle begins, as the so-called forces of justice turn against each other…

ALPHA5x.png

---

The giant UFO sped away to the south, leaving behind rumours of mysterious messages and secret contacts with the Red and Aqua (Nationalist) forces.

---

GREEN forces were resting after their triumphant capture of city G7, when Aqua troops under the command of Neverwonagame suddenly made an unopposed landing from their transport boat, and invaded Green HQ at G10.

sor2ba.png

Before Green forces could react, more Aqua forces led by Bestshot9's upgraded heavy tanks stormed across the bridge at G8, and wiped out some of Green's wounded and disorganised heavy troopers in the process. A short time later, Gold (NAO) forces launched their own ambitious amphibious assault on G7, with support from Lord_Iggy's gunship wing. Gold forces led by NAO storm troopers also made a sudden attack in the south, capturing the city at I10 without any real resistance…

rabiteforest3.png

As if this was not enough, Green forces at G7 came under combined artillery attack from Gold rocket launchers, Aqua heavy artillery and the Anarchist gunboat still parked offshore…

MooseWarrior rallied his men from within this maelstrom.

Gold's amphibious landing ran into such a storm of fire that their transports were destroyed, the surviving troops left hanging onto the bridge at G6. Despite rumours of a cease-fire between Gold and Anarchist forces, it is also rumoured that the Anarchist gunboat fired a few shots in the direction of Gold's transports, perhaps fearing an amphibious attack on the imperial capitol…

Green forces face encirclement and have taken heavy casualties, but have ensured their flag still flies over G7 for now. MooseWarrior has gained extra experience and continues to inspire his men.

Aqua troops are still trying to break their way into the centre of Green's HQ. A militia unit made up of Green staff officers, mechanics, bureaucrats and wounded soldiers has formed at G9 to oppose the invasion.

Gold forces in the south are now being encircled by the crab-like monsters, which may or may not be following any orders at this point.

SPECIAL: Green's submarine is still awaiting instructions on what to do with the strange canisters that were found onboard…

---

AQUA's territory remained quiet. Troops under Neverwonagame's command met with the new Anarchist rebels in the north-east mountains, and seem to have convinced them to stay away from Aqua's towns and cities. The cease-fire between Aqua and Anarchist forces still seems to be holding.

SPECIAL: Aqua supply trucks have appeared behind the lines to supply the advancing troops.

---

Before advancing north-east, GOLD's forces secured the Anarchist transport jet crash site at G3, and convinced the isolated Anarchist forces at I2 to join the Gold army.

SPECIAL: Gold supply trucks have arrived to transport the crates and their contents back to Gold HQ…

---

RED's forces, led by the 88th Armored brigade, unleashed a merciless attack on the retreating Anarchists at D5, wiping out half of them. The rest fled to the protection of Orange forces at the airfield at C5. Tensions grew between Red and Orange forces.

bgsa.png

Red's careful plans were upset by the appearance of the monstrous Anarchist battle-robot which came stomping out of the imperial capitol and into the swamps at E5. Surviving Anarchist troops from the south also reinforced the airfield at F5. Red's light tanks were forced to withdraw before they could begin to repair and reorganise in safety.

SPECIAL: Red troops reached the blast site where the UFO had fired its powerful weapon. It is not known if they found anything.

SPECIAL: rogue battle robots wandered into the red-controlled city at E2. They gathered in the city's parks and began to walk in circles. So far, they have not made any hostile moves towards the civilians.

lal_familiavillage.gif

SPECIAL: Orange and Red forces both sent troops to contact the mysterious mystics seen roaming the north-west wilderness. Red's troops under the command of Charles Li arrived first, and are rumoured to have been negotiating with the mystics when Orange forces also arrived. It is not known what happened next, but it is said that all contact has since been lost with both squads of troopers…

---

bg1a.png

SPECIAL: the mercenaries have joined Orange's army.

---

SPECIAL: From the imperial capitol at E6, Xolniu repeated his threat to explode a nuclear bomb, although none can say how powerful this bomb is, or even if the threat is genuine…

SPECIAL: Unexpected heavy rain and mist have obscured the battlefield and turned large areas into muddy swamps. The weather is expected to improve during next turn.

INCOME:

GOLD, ORANGE and GREEN all received $2. AQUA and RED received $3. Lord_Iggy and Neverwonagame3 will not receive a share of the $ unless they request it.

NOTES:

I realise this turn is hard on MooseWarrior :(

I decided that HQ's should take two turns to capture. MooseWarrior can still build new units at this point.

I ran out of time for pictures, and stuff in general. I might add some later.

Nice update Daft! Diplomacy to come.

One question, though. Shouldn't the capture of an extra city entitle me to three income now? I'm not sure how the income is calculated, but I definitely hold more structures than Red, who received 3$.

OOC: Good Update Daft! I fell sorry for Moosewarrior though, but he has all those troopers to the south to fall back on. The following diplo is worth a try, if you think I'm crazy for asking.

To: Imperial Palace
From: Red High Command

We have learned of the god powerful strengh of your Machine and wish to have nothing to with it. How about a 3 turn cease fire with you and all anarachist soldiers except if any come within 2 tiles of our HQ? For safety of our command of course.

I'll send my trooper in B4 to take D1 (I didn't realise this before but if I'm correct he's my hero, even though I would have perfered to move my regular there. So for future reference he's popcornlord). Be careful around C2! Report any strangness you see around there but go around! Send one soldier from C5to regarison B4 (dig in). Purchase StuG at C5. Barage D4 with fire (double attack, one time armor-peircing) and watch them fall :mwaha:. Nice update, BTW. I feel really sorry for moosewarrior. He has some cash, though, so I don't think they'll stay for very long. ;)
