NES World/Regional Maps Requests Thread

More details coming.

I finished it, but... there seems to be a problem with most rivers. I don't know how to fix this. When areas of the map are filled with color, there are white-looking (white-looking because they are not actually white, just seem to be) dots around some of the rivers. Do you have any suggestions?

It's somewhat similar with the one in page 13 of the completed maps, but it has much more of the middle east and north-eastern europe (Russia).

The problem is that the map probably blurred a little next to the rivers. What this means is terrible, terrible things. :p

Basically, the simplest way to fix it is the laborious task of filling in all those pixels with a white color.

I have a better idea, setting the tolerance of the magic wand in Photoshop higher, select and fill. :p But this might be inaccurate, I have to check each. I wanted to know if there are other suggestions. :)

1340 is very difficult to time to map Turkey. At this time, there are 22 independent states that were partly or fully in today's Turkey. If you want, I can do that part of the map. It also matters if the map is 1340 or 1343 (Sahipata disappears in between).

Turks: Karaman, Inanch, Sahipata, Menteshe, Jandar, Germiyan, Hamit, Saruhan, Osman (Ottoman), Karasi, Aydin, Teke, Alaiye, Ahi Republic, Ramazan, Eretna, Dulkadir, Akkoyunlu, Karakoyunlu

Non-Turks: Byzantine Empire, Trebizond Empire, Armenian Cilicia

Here is how 1343 would seem, with cities of ruling seats. Almost asks for its own little NES, doesn't it :)

And of course there are a bunch of wars and alliances going on.

edit: I used English names for some. Akkoyunlu is Whitesheep, Karakoyunlu is Blacksheep, Osman is Ottoman.

All Turks on the map except Alaiye, the Sheeps and Eretna is officially known to end in "-ogullari" meaning "sons".
Example: Osmanogullari - Osman's sons; Karamanogullari - Karaman's sons.

Redo the map and save it in .png

That's a wonderful map, knight. Thank you. :)

Thanx for the compliments. I hope you can squeze those in the worldmap-scale. By the way, not all of the cities on that map are big cities. I guess Constantinople (Byzantium), Bursa (Osman), Izmir (Aydin), Konya (Karaman) and Antalya (Teke) would be the only ones to merit a city in a NES map.

Another thing, if you are showing capitals on your map... Izmir (the city shown in the map I just posted) was not Aydin's capital. I put it on the map because it was their most important city. The city of Aydin is much smaller, and in the middle of their territory.

A NES that you could probably mod very well, given your knowledge of Turkish history.

Yes, I'll keep that idea on the heap of game ideas (including 3 more NES ideas) to pursue when I have time (30-40 years from now?) :). Would have to start a few years earlier, before Germiyan took out Sahipata, and Ramazan took most of the Armenian Kingdom's territory.

Besides, I am more of a gamer than a storyteller. Perhaps someday I'll ask if anybody will be interested in joint modding - me doing the game mechanics, stats and maps; and somebody doing the story part of the updates. Or perhaps asking players to submit small stories with their orders...hmm...

You're probably underestimating yourself. If you are able to fair well as a NESer, then I am almost certain you can write a decent story if you put your mind to it.

Friendly reminder to Panda, so I don't have to bug him on AIM ;)
