Nes2 I

Nah, I take it it IS ending, I mean, there is this nuclear armaggedon coming and all, and, quite frankly, I believe this NES has a logical ending in the mutually-assured nuclear destruction. This NES wouldn't be the same without stalin and jason, neither.

stalin - Germany isn't populated by Germans in this world - not any more. There is completely different ethnical makeup here. You MIGHT be interested in Baltia, though, it is ran by militant Viking religious fanatics who are interested in "Drag Nach Osten".

Gah. There is a nuclear armageddon, so you decide the NES died to avoid updating? :nono: :nono:

I call China, or anything similar and rules the same lands...

I would like to reserve the Visigoth.

This is not a reservation thread.

Scots in your next NES (if open) if not the nation holding RL South Norway...

I hate you, Heine. You did that just to spam and irritate me.

UPDATE!! MACARENA!!

Quite frankly, this isn't a reservation thread indeed.

I guess this NES is dead. It was fun when it lasted.

Rrright. Forgot to add - awards tomorrow. The "final update" - or rather a summary of this world's future - the day after tomorrow. Do note that I need to brainstorm rules for the next NES as well - btw, I would like to know whether you want them to be somehow similar to these or not. But that's for another thread.

OOC: i do too, but who doesn't? "sniffs" from a mere rebellion to a world power...

OOC: Well, I'm somewhat afraid I'll get something like the "did the least in this NES and in reality just said he'd be neutral a few times" award. Nothing to be proud of. ;)

I guess that, well, this NES is dead now. Why? For story reasons, because of the nuclear war - not that I have much against nuclear wars, but they make updates longer, and I already decided, at some point, that this NES is not immortal and that the most logical ending for it will be NUCLEAR ARMAGGEDON ( :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: ). Other reasons are that Jason (and stalin) left, and, quite simply, I didn't seem to get into the "update mood" for several days.

It was very fun to mod this NES, especially with the diplomatic maneuvers late in game. This was the best NES I ever modded, IMHO.

There were good players in this NES, many of them - that, indeed, made it as good as it was.

Do notice the educational experience one MIGHT receive from playing this. Our history was bad. But it could have been worse. Joan d'Arc saved not only France from the English, but also the world from the nuclear armaggedon. Well, technically, things could easily have went differently in the United Kingdom of British Isles and Northern France, and Joan dying in her infancy could have made the history better. But, in this case, her early death blew up a lot of cities. And people. But more on that in the "last update".

Soon, very soon, I will take a break from the madNESs of being a NES moderator. Naturally, I will take this time to develop the rules and stats and stuff for my next NES (expect a development thread to appear soon), and let's hope it will be as fun (if differently) as this one NES.

And now, for the awards. Feel free to comment or even post your versions of it.

Player Awards:

Winner: stalin006 - although leaving in the end, stalin managed to form a huge and expanding Comintern alliance, achieving the "natural goal" for a communist Germany for expanding communism across the world.
Best Player: Jason the King - though I was tempted to give this to stalin as well, Germany was pretty well off in the beginning. Madagascar, meanwhile, was a third world backwater former Russian colony, which Jason turned into a superpower to match Germany itself.
Most Persistant Player: IceEye - there is no doubt about it. Even after his nation was destroyed, he continued to lead the Burgundian resistance movement to the very end.
Most Innovative Player: thebignastyone - though there were many other candidates, I liked the Black Army the best.
Best Unsung Leader (i.e. a leader of a 3rd world country): North King - Turkey succesfully switched to democracy and became a nuclear power under him.
Most Agressive Player: IMHO, stalin006 - not only did he spread communism everywhere, but he also started a nuclear war. That counts for something.
Least Agressive Player: North King, I guess - didn't start any wars, and the only one he participated in was started before he joined.
Best Orders (IMHO): tossi - good, detailed orders that fairly easy to understand and use in an update. It was the easiest for me to work with his orders (meaning, ofcourse, important orders that aren't "grow economy").
Did the least in this NES and in reality just said he'd be neutral a few times: North King - couldn't resist.

Nation Awards:

Number One Superpower: PRG/CCR.
Number Two Superpower: Madagascar - mostly because its smaller. It was very close, however (before the nuking and the PRG-APR merge).
Number Three Superpower: Arabia - although there were many other candidates, Arabia was the only one to actually form a meaningful coalition of nations, thus making it a "third world superpower".
Biggest Rise (i.e. starting out with the least and ending with the most): China - Madagascar is very close, but it DID exist in the beginning.
Most Influential Nation: Madagascar.
Funniest Nation: Balkans - it had five name changes.
Most Surprising (in this case, "lasted for twenty times the amount of updates mod thought it will last"): Burgundy, naturally.
Evilest Empire: Diamond Sword Empire, IMHO - it reintroduced serfdom in the 20th century.
Longest Name: the now-deceased United Kingdom of British Isles and Northern France. As of those still alive, probably PRG.
Most Screwed-up Nation (that still exists): Oceania.
Strongest (Overall) Army: Russia.
Strongest (Overall) Navy: Britain (note that largest is China).
Strongest (Overall) Air Force: Germany.
Largest Nation: Russia.
Smallest Nation: was Cyprus. Now Catalonia.
Strongest Economy: Incan Empire.
Most Technologically Advanced: India.
Most Patriotic: Germany and India (fairly equal).

Favorite Moment:

That's largely for you people to fill. My personal favorites are, however, the BLA's landing in Brussels and the Battle of Sinai (WWII).

Secrets:

I have a HUGE blackmail list from this NES, for PCs and NPCs alike. I'd expect some of the PCs to confess themselves, and I will gladly answer any questions as to "who really did that" and stuff.

As for now, I would point out that the pre-Communist Cuba (NPC) controlled the hugest smuggler system in the world, selling arms to rebel and terrorrist groups across the world.

I wish I played this :D
Can tossi post some of his orders? We all have something to learn.
*goes to read the beginning of this NES*
