OOC:
Thinking of joining as the Mississippian Empire... Could you please send me some details on their recent history and how they differ from native americans in OTL in a PM, das? That would be very nice...
No time to PM.
Messipa appeared in 750 AD, when numerous local tribes united to defend against nomadic "Aztec" tribes moving from the west. Think Mound-Builders, sort of. Having FINALLY defeated the Aztecs (by then settled in Florida, or "Aztec Peninsula") in the 11th Century, Messipia continued to fight a war with the "barbarians" further north. It was, however, stagnating and isolated. It was occasionally revitalized by strong leaders, but as of Late 12th Century, it was only holding on the hatred of barbarian tribes and the technological superiority to afforementioned tribes.
In 1235, the "Ocean Plague" (diseases brought by Scotian explorers) reached Messipia, causing a period of instability, but Messipia emerged stronger then before. But then, in 1265, the Scotian adventurers and expeditionaries, led by MacOrvall, have arrived in the Aztec Peninsula and occupied much of it. Soon after, their Tarunist allies pushed far into Messipia, but faced an unrelenting guerrila war. After the Messippian chieftain died, command was assumed by Robert Wallace...
Robert Wallace? What Robert Wallace? Wallace was one of the expeditionaries, but secretly, he was an Aryanist Christian and went along to defect and become a missionary or a hermit (so his memoirs say anyway). But when he realized that the Tarunists came to wage a war of conquest and destruction against the poor, innocent natives to whom he wanted to bring the Word of God (sounds nice, eh? Source is his memoirs, naturally), he went on to assist the Messippians, teach them of Tarunist tactics and strategy, and to teach them to produce iron weapons and so on. As the result, the "Tarunist heathens" got repulsed, and there was much rejoicing.
The real story is probably that he was just another adventurer who hated all Tarunists because of his father's death at their hands and chose to help the Messippians for the hell of it. But, ofcourse, he didn't pass up the opportunity to become an emperor. Right now, he is trying to open his new-found empire to the world.
(don't worry - if you don't want a Christian/semiChristian empire, its never to late to kill off Wallace and make the project convert people to Buddhism and stuff

)
What was it? The Black Army? Or something/someone else?
The Black Army was one of the "bad things" to happen in the near future. Do know that I still have many surprises in store... MUWHAHAHAHA!!!
Sure, maybe we can work out a treaty...
One problem - your people just so happen to hate Tarunism. See above.
Burgundy is simply laying claim to southern Svenia for the fast approaching time when Tarunism is no more.
Like said by other people, "don't forget about Baltia, its huge, mean, and has a megalomaniac Tarunist berserker for an emperor. Sigh. As if we REALLY needed an equivalent of the Lombardian king on the other side."
Hellfish: I dont think you understand the amount of "material" thrown at Sveroslavia each turn. So many troops walking through there and pillaging, I am surprised there is anyone left alive!
Quite true. Everybody who didn't flee Northern Severoslavia is dead or enslaved. Or is a Tarunist colonist.
