Because a wooden tank run on horses and armed with old arquebuses is more advanced than the latest M1 Abrams Tank! (Or, more to NES time - a giant ballista is stronger than a steel-breech loading gun!)

A wooden Tank is stronger than no tank at all. Besides, that is only a beginning, things advance.. And with Vinchi as a beginning... They will advance much faster.

btw, Kentharu...if you can find a good nation, all the power to you. The only one left MIGHT be something in Africa and I think the Sikhs in India are open, but once again thats another weak nation. Theres Italy but that already weak country is split in half or somesuch, and um, Bulgaria? They could be interfesting.

Im not going to recommend rebellion spots since I think thats cheap to recruit people solely to damage your enemies Ill leave that work to das.
