It's fascinating to see what I missed in a mere 7 hours...
But yeah, I was about to say "in the interests of peace, we need an update"

I concur.

Also hope for an update soon. If das is up for it. Really, young man... one car hits you and you raise the white flag? ;) We need the story someday.

Disenchanted... just add me on MSN. Got it fixed (I think).

OOC:

also assume that the Israelis you spoke to believed in a totally scientific creation.

Au contraire, they were hard-line creationists. ;) The scary bit is, one of them was a biology teacher...

(I'm surprised there are enough left for you to have met more than one or two)

Hell, I'm one myself. Well, Jewish enough to get into Israel anyway... which implies having lots of Jewish relatives as well, some of them more-or-less pure Jewish.

So it's basically over.

Well...

I've been thinking, especially having analyzed the orders thoroughly and having already done some work... on one hand, by now Persia seems quite doomed, which also means that Federate domination is quite assured by now. Although the Persians didn't fare as badly as they could have had they been more open and trusting to some of their allies, in the end that might mean a bad thing for them (yes, they killed someone they really shouldn't have killed...), and besides, with the... "information leak" they seem to have lost their last chances for a victory or a draw. Now, this isn't yet assured - still trying to work on the update - but even if they survive this turn, they will probably still be completely doomed.

So, the global struggle seems decided by now, which brings up the question of whether its worth it writing down in all gritty details about how Persia died.

The problem is, many smaller, but also significant parts of the WWI (if we still consider them such) are still in the balance, and still could go either way. Then there's also the post-war world, which isn't very certain neither. Not certain at all, actually. And on the distant horizon, ofcourse, there's WWII...

So, help me decide here - do you want me to continue this, or jump forward a few years after briefly describing the end of the war, or just end this, or something else. Any suggestions?

Oh, and Iggy was one of the few who remained loyal to the Orient, actually. That, too, probably became his undoing. This isn't a very good NES from the viewpoint of pretty much any morality...

Hmm.... maybe take this and one more update and then jump a few years.

That will get the big one settled and hopefully also decide the smaller ones. I promise to not complicate it further by invading the Federated Kingdoms ;)

I was thinking of that, the real problem is that I don't know what to do with the Federate-Persian war. On one hand, it is epic, huge and far-ranging, but on the other hand, the outcome has become rather obvious by now, making it rather boring. The optimal solution might be to post something like "Turkey, Persia, Sikhistan, India crushed! (-all that as factions)", but that's just something I can't bring myself to do.

Just jump ahead to when Sokoto emerges from the ash filled post war world as the last refuge of civilization. Breifly describe its struggle to turn back the half-human half-penguin mutants that emerge from ruins, and its singlehanded rebuilding and resetling of post war earth. Give a quick synopsis of its colonization of our solar system, its first meeting with the Jystefrelix, a half-ursine half-polar race from Gerstylblakchits and its terrible war of conquest against same.

and then end it.

You forgot to include Poland and Muscovy in there :)

You forgot to include Poland and Muscovy in there

Poland AND Muscovy disappearing is rather unlikely, unless...

Just to make sure you understand - I COULD do the update, but have been rather discouraged by the fact that a pretty large portion of what I SHOULD write if I am to do it at all is rather predetermined and not really needed. And I really need your opinions. Now, ofcourse, we won't have any of that silly "democracy" or "people's will" here, but I DO want to know whether you want this to continue despite all or whatever. Oh, and if I DO kill this now, I'll make a brief pause as always, and after a while post a new poll thread (options: NES2 II, ITNES I, that map I posted in the althist thread a while ago (not the one with the Muslim Uberbulgaria, the one before that), or something else entirely).

Well I'd certainly love the update just to see what happens and get a sense of completeness (I really want to see how china turns out), and then a generational or so BT update to see how the post war world unfolds. But after that I'm personally pretty much up for anything (except NES2 II ;)). Is that other althist the American France one?

WTH is this, you get screwed over by your allies and you start crying?! "Boohoo, this was supposed to be a game of military tactics and suddenly some people start doing diplomatic manouvering"

Let me tell you something: if you are planning the destuction of your enemy, then it always happens IC! You can't make detailed battle plans OOC now can you? :p So if someone asks for your orders so you can make battle plans together, what makes you think it happened OOC? I think myself always as emperor Wilhelmus, not myself, when I approach someone on AIM concerning this NES.

That kind of whining and crying is just pathetic! If you can't handle the game, blame yourself.

And about ending this game.. NOOOO! The rise of Geneva is still unfinished!

Oh well.. tell me if it does end because I want to write one last closing story for the history of the Genevan Empire.. I want emperor Wilhelmus to die you see, he is too evil to live beyond this NES!

Make a BT update....bring us to 1900-1920 somewhere ;)

get a sense of completeness

You completely beat up a lot of people and made Zhirinovsky's dream about Russian soldiers washing their boots in the Indian Ocean reality, sortof.

I really want to see how china turns out

The opposition to the Han Revolution is too disorganized to start a serious civil war yet...

Is that other althist the American France one?

Yes, ofcourse. Great powers are slightly less overpowered there, although, that said, the FK won not just because it had lots of money but also because its enemies were a perfect example of what a lack of coordination does to any coalition, especially on the early stage (I mean, the way the Turkmens and the various rebels were defeated, THEN after they were defeated so was Portugal, THEN France, and now Persia as well...).

Finmaster is too harsh, IMHO, but he also had a point. Many great NESers were doomed by trust, as were many leaders and empires in OTL.

And about ending this game.. NOOOO! The rise of Geneva is still unfinished!

Its pretty eerie at that stage, really...

Btw, just in case I DO do the update - did Italy declare war on France?

I want emperor Wilhelmus to die you see, he is too evil to live beyond this NES!

Lord Penn Gwynn did, von Dunkelheit did... what makes this Wilhelmus fellow think he's eviler than they? ;)

Continue this NES. After this update and the FK dominates we can do a BT for like 10 years or so maybe. That would be nice since by then people can begin to challange its power.

INTES! ITNES!

or a new fresh start ITNES... (or just a new fresh start without IT..)

And if you gave me time I could make other of his dreams reality too! (I'm specifically thinking of the giant fans to blow radioactivate waste into germany here, not the military conquest :D).

Please at least do the update, if the NES is then abandoned, then the 1870 will be easier to start it up again from some time in the future...(it would also be a better place to do end of NES awards ;))

If not for our sake, then do it for Geneva! how often is switzerland going to conquer an empire? And maybe give us a shot at trying to break the world war 2 casuality numbers! :mischief:

Nah, 17-20 years would be better - onto the next generation!
