Once Ottoman goverment has confirmed your peace treaty, we are willing to sign peace.

@HRE

Well...yes, thats why its a peace treaty after all. We thank you for your desire to see the conflict quickly ended, and wish you further good fortune against the grasping Swede!

(fingers crossed for Iggys decision...)

Dear friends and allies,
We would like to congratulate you and your troops on a well executed war in Southern America. The Portuguese invaders have been ousted and their colony of Brazil is all but neutralised at this point. It has been our honor and pleasure to aid you in restoring peace and stability in this reagion. We wish you the same success in whatever other parts of the world that may require your intervention. We only regret that we can't help you in those other areas as we do not possess a navy or the means to wage war on other continents.

We will, however, remain your faithful ally in matters of crisis in Southern America though with you, us and the Imperials allied an age of peace should start now. We realize there are still some pockets of Portuguese resistance in Brazil and would like to place our Black Ghosts at your disposal to help in quelling these pockets.

Also, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the aid of your skilled technicians who have gone over our industry and agricultural methods. It has provided a major boost to our production capabilities. Already my people are starting to gain more and better food improving their strenght and health. Truly, you are a most generous friend. If there is ever something we can do for you, then you need just to ask us and, if it is in our power, we will do so.

May your fortunes stay golden and bright,
The Sapa-Inca

From: Peru

Friends, the war in Southern America is won. Neugranada is yet again free of invaders with the last of the Portuguese expelled. We are installing administrators and governors in the areas we have agreed on. We are pleased that no Imperial lives were lost in the transistion.
We realize that Neugranada is somewhat ravaged by the Portuguese and that you are busy in Europe. To express our gratitude for your decision to hand over lands to us and to help an ally in need, we will ship food to Neugranada to help feed the people there. We will also send what medicine we can spare.

We wish you luck in Europe,

With respect and my warmest regards,
The Sapa-Inca.

Please take note that lands in Neugranada that are Pro-Inca (the area with unrest) are now Peruvian lands in accordance with a Peru-HRE agreement. Lands that want to stay Imperial and which are currently controlled by Peruvian troops are given back to HRE. You might want to update the map lest we forget ;) A minor part showing the new border would be much appreciated and you are the only one who really know where it is.
The minor part we took of Brazil will remain under our control. (Yay, more trees and snakes  ;) )

We thank you for your promise of aid in Neugranada.

@ das, forgot to put that deal in my orders, but anyway thats how it goes.

We hope that, pending Ottoman approval of peace, our nations will be able to reconcile as well.

From: Persia
To: FK

As you have noted our protests regarding the Egyptian protectorate, we are willing to withdraw our opposition, in return for the non-withdrawal of Federate personnel in Persia proper.

If the FK were to withdraw, they would have to remove all nationals from Bandar-e' Abbas, including the Persian Gulf Company, a very profitable organization whose agents have already lodged numerous protests in Shiraz against their removal. We sincerely hope that Federate economic interests in the area are not damaged by rash actions, especially when we are so near to a breakthrough.

OOC: Thlayli, you are almost a century ahead of time with the national self determination ideas, thats why Ive disregarded them. See, if we accept them I have to give up all my colonies, not something Im willing to do.

We will not, unlike the FK, make protests at the fact that they are inserting their will into a corner of the world hitherto untouched by Federate policy.

Look in a mirror :p

Fine Storm, that's why I withdrew my protests. Even in the 19th century, the "balance of power" is being tipped out of place by the FK acting on behalf of Egypt, an area traditionally in the French sphere of influence.

Iggy...please be more specific. Does the Ottoman Empire have a counter-offer to make? Technically ours is quite reasonable, and it isn't in the Ottomans interest to rule over peoples (Shiites, al-Hasa and Oman) that voluntarily left your nation for mine.

We're willing to up our offer from 3 to 7 economy points, transferrable over the course of two years.

After some recent peace talks yesterday, the FK and Portugal have reached an agreement.

OOC: I've been feeling like crap after dinner last night. I got a huge migrainge and aches from playing football 2 hours afterschool that day, with no pads, the way it should be played!

Anyways, I'll post the agreement afterschool.

Whatever happened to the confidence penalty to those late with orders? I demand retribution for my decrease in time (1-2 days :( ) to write stories! :p

Tukular\s loyalty is for sale, currently going at one eco. level or one economic point per turn.

OOC> My grow economy failed again, right das?

So, either you are talking about real football, the kind ignorant Americans call soccer ( ;) ) or you have been playing some Australian style rugby which is quite cool :)

IC: Does this peace treaty include anything about Peru? We would like to keep the bit of jungle we took as it makes much more natural borders thanks to the river.

Now that Sokotoan territory includes a coastline, all the nations of the world have become its neighbors. With that important development Chief Muhammad Ramat has asked some of his most trusted advisors to go abroad to better understand Sokoto’s place in the world and, if necessary, to help other nations locate it on their maps.

Ambassador Jayalekshime Mohideu, former minister of hygiene, has been selected to represent Sokoto to the Federated Kingdom, a recent ally and the world’s most powerful nation. He passes on his important work of promoting sanitation and health among the villagers to take on his new duty of maintaining a healthy relationship with Sokoto’s most important friend (chuckle).

His tenure did not start out auspiciously, however. Sokoto, of course, has no way of sending any of its ambassadors to their foreign destinations. Asking for a ride from his host did not convey the dignity and authority he had been charged with fostering, but the Federated Kingdom, professional as always, accepted the ambassador’s request with apparent enthusiasm.

The vessel that carried him to London was a marvel in every way. It was a ship of war yet its inhabitants lived better than most of the citizens of Sokoto he had come in contact with, though Sokotoans definitely had brighter teeth, he noted curiously.

The city of London was also a marvel, the carriage ride to the palace, another marvel, the palace itself…marvel. ‘Nuff said.

Finally came his audience with King George V. Ambassador Jayalekshime Mohideu stumbled clumsily through his presentation, thankful that he had had the foresight to keep it brief. “Your marvel… (Cough)…your majesty, It is my honour to presented this pleasure to you with the gratitude of my nation…which is Sokoto, by the way. Um…a token of my nation’s gratitude in expelling the Portuguese from Africa is this traditional ceremonial victory mask. At one time, victorious warriors brought back the heads of slain enemies as trophies…but we don’t do that any more, any way, in modern Sokoto these masks are used to represent the trophy heads. This particular mask was made to represent your victory over the Portuguese.”

The king accepted the mask with genuine pleasure. He was nearly beaming when he held it up to show his attendants, but Ambassador Mohideu was horrified at how the masks clenched teeth gleamed next to the monarchs stained and discoloured grin.

His tour of London brought him into contact with a number of friendly and helpful foreign mission diplomats. Only his meeting with Secretary Lord John Russell stood out in the blur of greetings and hand shaking. The Foreign secretary presented him with a few books and a very attractive bag with the foreign office coat of arms emblazoned on the side, a gift bag he evidently presented to all his visitors. Jayalekshime was very impressed, but felt the foreign secretary went a little too far when he assigned homework.

The FK suggests that the Ottoman Empire not accept either of the peace treaties as of yet. We are continuing our work on achieving a peace treaty that will ensure stability in the region.

Did I not get any irregular divisions from conscription and volunteers back in the homeland?

Yes, yes you did.

Wasn't my new project suppposed to be to getting the next age?

You already got there. If you want to go even further, okay, but it will take decades then... ;)

Great update das! although i'm little disappointed with my gains but oh well, one can't have everything

I really enjoyed that war, btw. A shame I had to wreck TWO brilliant plans (yours and Contempt's) at the same time, but that's how it always is.

btw, i hope you will do those backgrounds later...

Much later.

Is it just me or does Muscovy pretty much have 2 UU's??

Hmm? The cannon is one of a kind, and only grants a limited tactical advantage. You could build one yourself if you want. :p

we stand upon the brink of another World War.

That's what this NES is all about, actually. At this point, anyway, and I'm glad that thus far, my expectations for it are being fulfilled in full, with hard-line diplomacy, conflicts between old and new great powers, the incoming Wolrd War and the spectre of International Anticolonialism (as represented by all those annoying little rebels appearing here and there ;) ) threatening all things food. Um, good.

with the likely outcome of French victory on land, British victory at Sea.

By now, the likely outcome is that one side will get fed up of it and go for a total victory. FK has the potential to do that, but for that it will have to divert perhaps too many troops from its faraway holdings...

you do not know how I play

I'm sure he's getting the gist of it by now. ;)

I did not expect to have the second largest navy at this stage of the game! (though the gap to first is pretty big )

Third largest, actually.

Yeah, btw, does Portugal accept and unconditional surrender or do I need to level your cities on the continent too?
Nope, not a chance Storm. You'll have to land in Iberia.
After some recent peace talks yesterday, the FK and Portugal have reached an agreement.

Good, because your generals only barely managed to wait for so long.

can afford the same courtesy of free choice that it gives to all it's subjects?

Only to the ones in the Kingdoms, actually.

OOC: I can only imagine what das will do when he wakes up to 5 pages of diplomatic chaos.

He'll ask you to add all that, in detail, and with maps, to your orders. All of you. ;)

@ das, forgot to put that deal in my orders, but anyway thats how it goes.

Don't forget it this time.

Thlayli, you are almost a century ahead of time with the national self determination ideas

Aye. Sets bad precedent, too. The Andorran government is most concerned by this - the world will certainly be lit aflame if these self-determination ideas will become commonly-accepted. Why, the puny Protestant religious minority in Andorra itself might start getting some ideas!

an area traditionally in the French sphere of influence.

Cultural and economical only - politically, it was Ottoman until just now. ;)

Whatever happened to the confidence penalty to those late with orders?

I did decrease Confidence. And may this be example for the rest of you!

OOC> My grow economy failed again, right das?

You didn't send orders...

IC:

Egypt would like to make it clear that it doesn't want any foreign rule. It has gained independence, and intends to retain it. It would also like to ask France for an alliance. Just in case.

We sincerely hope that the FK presents such a treaty before the turn of the year. Failure to do so would, we fear, make us suspect a combined Ottoman and FK attack on our nation, which Persia would be forced to meet, despite our commitment to peace. ;)

In light of the FK's remarks Disenfranchised, I strongly propose that you accept my offer.

From: Persia
To: FK

Are we to assume you withdraw your threat regarding your personnel in Persia? We sincerely hope you do.

From: Persia
To: Egypt

We support your independence, in whatever form. However, we equally do not wish for war with our Federate allies. If they choose to enstate a protectorate by force, we cannot oppose them. We will contact you immediately, regarding this matter. Would you accept a defensive alliance?

From: Persia
To: France

We think you should take the Egyptians offer.

EDIT: Sorry das. Radical self-determination ideas happen naturally if your nation becomes a haven for French Republican expatriates. Federate ones too, but...you get the idea.
