to Persia:
The true government of France is the one the people chose. Notice that we are the only country that does not conscript people to the army and still they freely volunteer by themselves a proof, a very good one indeed, that the people want the republic to rule France and since the Monarchy is gone only the people are allowed to choose who shall control them, unless your so hypocratic (you said Egyptians should choose who to govern them..)

Also make it be known that if Persian troops will walk on French land than ones the civil war has ended with our rightfull hard earned victory French troops will walk on Persian lands. And they won't be there as allies.

Of course. As long as Italy agrees to our single request, hostilities are over.

I'm terribly sorry, but we don't conduct diplomacy with puppets.

EDIT: Persia went to war with the FK to defend the freedom of Egypt, among other oppressed nations. This French Republic was imposed, not elected.

to Persia:
We are not puppets. We made a deal with the FK so they will not conquer French homelands in return for being given the rule over France. The people as already noted agree to this to a very large extent.

We sincerely hope that, despite our allies being quite at war with each other, hostilities do not begin between us. Persia and Dalnorossia do have a long history of friendship, as you know. However, your continued occupation of Chinese and French territory makes such an event quite likely.

We would appreciate an attempt at negotiation with said nations, to keep Dalnorossian and Persian soldiers alike from having to kill each other.

Dear Shah Ardashir IV

I take the time to answer this personally, and appologise about the poor quality of inks used; my old writing desk having been destroyed by a group of rampaging Qing soldiers.

I, speaking on behalf of the Grand Rada reaffirm our long friendship with the nation of Persia, embodied by yourself. However it appears you are misinformed on a number of accounts;

a)with regards to the chinese, we merely prepared to defend, they made the first move in burning our capital to the ground. Our following actions have been an inevitable consequnce of our desire for this calamity not to happen again. The long history of Qing agression (we have no quarrel with the chinese people themselves, and gladly support Zhao Ho-shen's attempt to free his people from tyranny), such as their treachery in the war of 1846, and their agressive comments prior to the current war means that unconditional surrender of the Qing regime is the only negociation we will accept.

b)In mexico we intervened at the behest of the anti-french forces there to support our ally, we do not see any difference in our actions and yours in afghanistan or India.

We will not attack any lawful persian soldier in light of our old friendships, however any armed Persian found north of the Syr Darya or our old borderline will be assumed to be a renegade not acting under the orders of his gracious and noble king, and will be dealt with accordingly. The same applies for any Perisan found assisting the forces of the merciless Qing, or threatening the sovereign state of Sikhistan.

Your sincerely

Mikhail Dezhnev, Perviy Prikaznik of the Grand Rada of Dalnorossia and Allied territories, Supreme Ataman of the Cossack Nations.

Due to your withdrawal from Russell's Gang of Criminals, we will end hostilities with Italy. However, we would appreciate the use of Italy as a base from which to conduct further operations.

We will submit no other terms. These are fairly generous.

From Italy

We apologise, but that would compromise our neutral position and could lead to attack from RCG forces. We also appreciate that considering the Chaos in Italy, you would have a hard time maintaining positions in Italy.

 Why would they want to conquer France if you give them rule over the land anyway? :p

Disappointing. We were so looking forward to peace.

How about Sicily, then?

but I didn't.. I rule my country.

to Persia:
How leaving the RGC show we contorl our own country? The only thing that will make is FK as enemies, and having the power hungry madman MacMahon already as an enemy will make leaving our good allies who are helping us claiming our homelands fully back again a VERY VERY VERY stupid move.
EDIT
and we may have been imposed at the beginning (like you just did to all middle eastern lands you conquered) but in our case the people agree with us, while in yours you must use huge army reseves to jsut quel resistance.

to Italy:
Will you let a bounch of crazy persians tell you what to do? We may not be allies.. but we are all europians and we cannot give up those Persians.

Disappointing. We were so looking forward to peace.

How about Sicily, then?

If you can seize control of it, and get rid of the seperatists there, then give control over to me, we can let you use it as a base. We will move in with a small force to enforce the Italian Republican Rule.

"They do not understand me", emperor Wilhelmus said with his strong, low voice.

"They don't?" asked Josef Leu, who had started to dislike his old master more and more over these couble of years. Still he prentended to be his friend - not like he had a choice, he had heard how those who betrayed Wilhelmus's trust just.. disappeared mysterically.

"No. They think that my mood changes constantly. They are calling me a "twisty bugger" because of the alliances they are in."

"And.. you aren't a twisty bugger?"

Wilhelmus gazed an angry look on Josef.

"NO!" he yelled, and smashed his hand on a wooden table. The table smashed into pieces, proving once again that emperor Wilhelmus did indeed have inhuman powers. "They even dare to claim that everything changed in Switzerland after I took over! That I had wrecked your good job as a liberal-authoritan leader. That all the work for tolerance was.. undone! Altough you just.. prepared everything for me and my coming!"

"Yes, that is something what the people don't understand."

"I have done all I can for religious tolerance. I have done all to ensure that the Swiss people are loyal to the Genevan government - a project which you, my dear friend Josef, started when you were the president."

"I agree.. but my master.. is it wise to march our troops to France now?"

Once again Wilhelmus gazed his angry eye on Josef.

"Who said that they would be marching?"

"That is the rumour.. everyone is talking about it.."

"Well, I have not decided that yet. Even if we did march there - who has the nerve to say that we would be doing anything less than helping our old ally, France? Damnit, Josef, I wonder if they will even understand my next domestic decision.."

"Your next domestic decision? You don't mean..?"

"Well what do you think, Josef! Do you think I wanted to end the democracy on federal level only to keep it alive on provincial level?

Democracy is the cancer of this planet.

Democracy is the enemy of the Swiss religious tolerance. Look at it: the minute it was ended on federal level, all religious disputes ended, and everyone started working for the Swiss people instead of working for themselves!

Democracy - ALL remnants from it - must be killed from Geneva!"

"But sire.." tried Josef say.

"NO BUTS!

All my life has been leading for this moment.. the moment, when the Genevan Empire's constitution becomes.. perfect. Just like it was back in those mystical days, when human race was still at it's cradle...

You see, Josef.. From this day forward..
THE CANTONS ARE NO MORE!"

***

In a way Josef had always known that this day would come. Ever since Wilhelmus had ordered him to take over in the parliament some 7 years ago. Liberal authoritanian rule my ass! And still, Josef had always played along. Somehow he had believed that things wouldn't get THIS bad. Somehow he had believed that Switzerland - or Geneva - would not fall into a constant series of wars. Even though he had always known that Wilhelmus believed in battle and conflict.

"Only through battle, the best of mankind can rise", Wilhelmus always said.

Power. Power blinded my eyes. He made me the president. I knew what was coming but I wanted the power. And I loved it. But now, now I see with clear eyes.. emperor Wilhelmus is.. crazy!

Since that day, Josef started to secretly work undercover to create a coalition that would eventually kill emperor Wihlemus..

We sympathize with your anger at the Qing Chinese, an anger that is exceeded only by our rage at the Federated Kingdoms, which has proceeded to trample upon the sovreignty of peoples on every continent of the globe.

Perhaps if Qing China and Dalnorossia were to withdraw from each other's territory, and reparations were paid for damages incurred, we could forge a fair peace? We believe that the Qing Chinese acted in preemption of a supposed Dalnorossian attack, and our thoughts seem justified by the simultaneous Dalnorossian invasion of Manchuria.

However, if you are, as you say, an unwilling partner in the war, you will join us in ending it.

Das, did my research have any success?

Depends on what exactly do you mean.

Update 1867 said:
Finally, in the east, the Chinese invasion of the Amur oblast is met by determined resistance, but is initially succesful anyway, as Khlopushensk is besieged and the rest of the oblast falls. However, the Dalnorossians then launched a fierce cavalry counter-attack, combined with a seaborne invasion of Ussuri province and Korea.

Our forces were poised to strike back we freely admit, but the Chinese made the first move and opened hostilities for we had not declared war on them. And this war will be ended...have no doubt about that. We thank you kindly for your attempts at peace, and wish you on your way.

And do not try to tell us how much we rage.

Das, that movement I invested economy into never came to fruition. Any reason why?

From: Persia
To: The Federated Kingdoms

The FK declared war on Persia, along with many other nations, several years ago. Since then, we all have inaugurated a reign of terrible brutality, not seen since the greatest wars of our forefathers.

The FK and it's allies have won many victories in this war, as have Persia and it's allies. But a stumbling, starving Federate army has struck into Iraq, and it is in dire straits. As are both of our armies in other portions of the world. But the one in Iraq will certainly die, the corpses of the men you conscripted rotting on a foreign shore. If peace is not declared, that is.

Now, we wish, and have always wished for peace. If you refuse our offer, this war will continue until one of our nations dies. But the scars that we have inflicted on this world will be slow to heal. Your people, too, are wearying, only barely tolerating the conscription thanks to the massive force that you would use to crush protest.

The Federate Kingdoms may crush all resistance in the world, but it will eventually stagnate. You cannot rule a nation that transcends nationalism.

Therefore, we submit our terms, to apply to all warring members of our alliances, if they so agree:

1. The FK will withdraw from Persia, and Egypt. The latter will form an independent government.

2. The FK will withdraw itself from France, Belgium, and Catalonia. It will disengage itself from war with any French faction, and will not support any French faction.

3. The FK will withdraw from India, and recognize it's independence. It will also disengage itself from war with Qing China.

4. The FK will withdraw itself from French Mexico, as will Dalnorossia. A referendum in this contested area, due to it's mixed allegiance to many nations, is possible.

5. Qing China will withdraw itself from Dalnorossia, and Dalnorossia will withdraw itself from Qing China. Qing China will pay eight million Federate pounds to Dalnorossia for damages inflicted in Central and East Asia, minus three million pounds for damages caused by Dalnorossia in Korea and Manchuria, making the total payment from China to Dalnorossia 5 million Federate pounds.

6. The FK will withdraw from any French territories in Africa.

Feel free to discuss these terms, rather than refusing them outright. Also, a clause regarding withdrawal of Federate allies from the HRE needs to be worked out.

@ das: Hmm, regarding the research into naval technology. I did order that, correct?
