NES2 V - The Great Game.

It was a day of national celebration in Bulgaria, the country was under a euphoria of pride and joy. Which was quite uncommon in the early days of it's new found independence. The country had been under Ottoman rule was hundreads of years, swift fall of the Ottoman Empire had made the future of the peoples of the Balkans uncertain. People (Atleast in Bulgaria) didn't trust the Persians, and when the Balkan Pact was formed, many felt that this was just a change from one master to another.

But with the war that broke out between the Federated Kingdoms and Persia, many Bulgarians regained their confidence of cutting the leash that held Bulgaria down. And with the king of Bulgaria chosen from the FK, many were certain it was going to succeed.

The crown Prince Edward had arrived in Bulgaria a few weeks before the coronation ceremony, to get to know his new country, the culture, the religion, the people and a little bit of the language. Also, he had been briefed on the difficulties that his country faced.

Indeed, that day Bulgaria might have seemed to be one of the greatest countries in Europe to live in. But the truth had a different side to it. Bulgaria was a country surrounded by enemies, it's army was weak, it's economy was not in shape and it's people were ruled (That is before now) by petty warlords. Many however were confident that Edward, and the new found friendship with the FK, would turn Bulgaria completely around.

The capital had been made ready for the Prince's arrival, and the army had been fitted to look their best. The coronation itself took place in an Orthodox chatedral in the capital city of Burgas. Edward was given the new name of Tsar Michael IV. As Michael together with his royal escort left the chatedral, after the ceremony, he was welcomed with a shower flowers, cheering and chanting by nearly everyone in Burgas, from the richest businessmen to the poorest folk.

After the coronation ceremony inside the chatedral, Michael, together with the cabinet members of the government, watched as the army of Bulgaria paraded through Burgas, with the crowd cheering as the soldiers marched by.

Later that day Michael called forth a cabinet meeting to discuss the future of Bulgaria.

Bulgaria's future was still far from certain, but now the young state had a chance.

King George V recommends to his brother in Bulgaria to not give up a single inch to the Persian puppets.
Tasan Kemal recommends King George V to please stay out of this, and to stop calling Turkey 'a puppet'. If you wish to use this title, at least apply it to Bulgaria as well.
Sorry no go. I won't hand it over freely.
What do you want for it, if it could possibly be for sale?

Turkey congratulates Tsar Michael IV on his coronation, and repeats the question to him, who will likely have differing opinions than the warlords who answered Turkey's requests shortly before.

From: Persia
To: Bulgaria

We created the nation of Bulgaria when we could have freely annexed it, so you need not worry about Persians or other Balkan Pact members violating your borders, as we have said many times. However, the current monarch of Bulgaria has close personal ties with a power at war with Persia.

Therefore, we have reason to be concerned.

If Bulgaria makes one motion to invade any of our allies, we will not hesitate in retaliating to the full extent of our power. We trust that Bulgaria's neutrality will continue, despite its new head of state. We also hope that the current border conflict with Turkey can be solved amiably, perhaps through plebiscite of the regions involved.

Sincerely,

The Islamic Council

After some thought, I've come to the conclusion that Tukolar is too insignificant for me to play, so I won't be taking them.

34 divisions and a +2 economy +1 trade center is more powerful than most of the other nations in this game.

I'm aware of the stats, but most people know my playing style.

I like to be at the center of a war, not on the outskirts of it. There isn't enough time in the NES to turn Tukolar into a world power, at least in my opinion. If a major nation in the war opens up, I'll be in. :)

I wasn't aware that it was open.

In that case, I'll take Hungary. If any of my allies wants to tell me the situation at this point, my AIM is musask.

Sorry for the flipflopping, but I don't think I'm going to re-join the NES. This is around the fourth time I've changed my mind... but whatever.

OOC: Aren't you two technically at war?

Back off Hungary. If Muscovy dies Hungary will be mine if it is free. Europe shall continue to tremble in terror!!!!!! HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

Yes, yes it should.

And I already explained that Thomas Dasfferson is not only a figment of a wild imagination, but also a figment of alex994's wild imagination. ;)
