Nation Background: Brunswick/Braunschweig and the other small German Protestant states were quick to support the Bohemian Protestant rebels, and, despite Danish help, were for the most part easily defeated by the Imperial forces in the first few years of the war. However, Gustav II's campaigns later liberated northern Germany, which became a part of his Protestant Empire, despite French protests. After the Fragmentation of the Protestant Empire in 1648-1650, a few small Protestant states remained in Northern Germany, dominated by Brandenburg and Brunswick; the former eventually joined the Krakow Union, while the latter united north-western Germany - first in an alliance, and later, druing the War of the Augsburg League, in a kingdom. Having repulsed the Franco-Bavarian assault with Krakowian help, Brunswick is now at peace, despite continued tensions with Denmark-Norway, France and the Augsburg League.

Kingdom of England
Capital: London
Ruler: ?
Government: Absolute Monarchy (French satellite)
Centralization: Unitary
Tech. Level: Early Industrial Age
Army (Training): 8 divisions (Normal)
Navy (Training): 5 squadrons (Better)
Economy: Good Enough (+2)
Size (points required): Small (1)
Leadership (Military/Civilian): Competent/Tolerable
Infrastructure: Good
Education: Well Educated
Living Standards: Normal
Culture: Patriotic
Confidence: Barely Tolerating
Projects:
Nation Background: England once had - and probably still has - the potential to become a great power on the level with France, but the two Civil Wars in the 1640s ruined it all. The worsening economical situation and the incompetent handling of the war with Scottish rebels have caused the conflict between King Charles I and his Parliament to turn into a full-fledged war, the first of which the Parliamentarian forces won, thanks to the leadership of Oliver Cromwell. But Cromwell's attempts to retake the rest of the British Isles caused a Second English Civil War, as the French used this opportunity to forever remove the English threat. King Charles I, who had fled to France, has raised an emigre army to assist the French and their Gaelic allies, and in the end this coalition defeated the English Commonwealth. The monarchy that was restored was a very unpopular one, and at times could only survive with French backing; the worst came when in 1699, during an international crisis in Italy, a radical revolution overthrew Charles IV. The revolutionary dictatorship of the Second Commonwealth, however, didn't have enough time to consolidate its power - the Royalists regroupped in Wales around the Queen-Regent Elizabeth II and the French, having hastily withdrawn from Italy, also struck. The Commonwealth was defeated, and England became more reactionary than ever before, also having to cede Dover to France. The revolutionaries have been getting more and more support since then, and indeed are still waging a terror campaign against the King.

The Afghan Khanate
Capital: Kandahar
Ruler: ?
Government: Absolute Monarchy
Centralization: Tight Federation
Tech. Level: Late Enlightened Age
Army (Training): 15 divisions (Normal)
Navy (Training): None yet
Economy: Normal (+1)
Size (points required): Medium (2)
Leadership (Military/Civilian): Competent/Barely Tolerable
Infrastructure: Tolerable
Education: Literate
Living Standards: Tolerable
Culture: Average
Confidence: Respecting
Projects:
Nation Background: When Mir Vays Khan Hotak, leader of the Afghan Hotaki clan, claimed de facto independence for the Pashtuns in the region of Kandahar in 1709, he probably didn't even suspect that soon after his death, his son Mir Mahmud, would, no more no less, conquer Persia. But anyway, he did, although some western provinces were taken by the Turkish ravens. Having defeated a Persian rebellion, Mir Mahmud died, leaving his empire in disarray. His children only barely defeated the Abdali Afghan rebels, not falling to any great powers only thanks to the generally devastated state of their territory and some well-done diplomatic maneuvering between the Mughals, the Turks, the Russians and the Portuguese, the latter becoming genuine allies in exchange for a base in Bandar e-'Abbas, and perhaps for future use against Mughals or Turks.

Damn! I wake up and discover just who wants Spain. Grrr... What else is left.

@Kentharu- Welcome to hell, my friend.

TO: His Royal Majesty, the King of the Augsburg League
FROM: His Royal Highness, King Julien-François I of the French

The Augsburg league, for years, has remained a valuable friend to the French, and us a valuable friend to the Augsburgers. We wish to reaffirm our ties, and offer your kingdom a Garuntee of Indepedence should you come under attack, aswell as a defensive alliance to seal the bond between our two great nations. These are dangerous times, and it would do well to have strong friends.

Though we do certaintly compete overseas in our struggle for colonies, we do not wish to see this competition escalate into a grander struggle. Therefore we propose a 3 year NAP, to be renewable with the cessation of the first if both of our parties will it.

Your proposal is fair and just. Thus it is agreed on.
