As newly crowned King Sacho IX, formerly known as Conte Giorgio Magro, looked over the crowd from his palace at Vitoria. Spreading his arms, and raising them into the air he proclaimed "On this day we are a free people once more. On this day, the Basques may take there rightful place. We have thrown off the chains of opression, escaped the bonds of servitude placed upon us. Under God and Jesus as our witness, we are free. The Kingdom of Greater Basque is finally free. Araba, Behe Nafarroa, Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, Lapurdi, Nafarroa, and Zuberoa are finally free. YOU ARE FINALLY FREE!!!!." The crowd was going crazy, clapping and cheering and danceing. Waiting until it dies down, Sancho started up again. "The French and/or the Spainish may try to take away our freedom, but i say no. We don't want war, we are a peaceable Chrisitian people. I implore them to recognize our independence and our soverenty. We want to be partners not enemies. It is commanded by God to love thy neighbor, and by God we want to." This frenzied the crowd once more, and once more Sancho waited for them to quiet down. "I urge all nations of the world to recognize our sovereignty. This is the beggining of a new era for the Basque people. The chains are broken my friends, we are truly FREE!"

Nation Background: The Basque people have had a very strong history. Begining with the French rise of Protestantism, the Basque Catholics were vicously oppressed. Coupled with the loss of autonomy in Spain, and the rise of Conte Giorgio Magro, they requested independence in 1730, upon this not being granted, they peacefully seceded, and braced for the worst.
 
But rebels don't get stats unless they get on the map, and he's not on the map yet!! :p

The thing is, now Panda and whoever controls Spain know they have a rebellion at hand, they will try their best to end it...
 
My bet is that you will be completely destroyed before you even managed to get to your coronation :p
 
consider it this way, he is extremely confident that his rebelion/seceding (grammer sucks) will work... albeit rather over confident, but a little faith never hurt anyone (save blind faith :p )

Subsequently, Spanish power was rebuilt further, with the conquest of the Barbary Coast and the development and consolidation of South American colonies. Strategic alliances with the Pope and Venice helped hold off the Franco-Turkish alliance.

OOC: I know it is not determined if it seccesion is succesful, but i don't want to overthrow a government, i want to leave and set up my own. I hoped this would be treated like a CSA seccesion, where they were independent and traded and conducted diplomacy, and were reconquered by the USA. This way, they could choose not to fight me:goodjob:

Must blood be shed on the pristine land of Basque? Must we opress to gain? Can we not work out other means of cooperation? Will no nations recognize the The Kingdom of Greater Basque? Ottomans, Portugal, Russia, China?
