France, after negociations with the German government, decides to recognize and garuntee the independence of the new German State. We also warn against any future aggression against this state.

With Such statements, along with those of Russia, Germany is ready to make its proclamation of Pacifism and Neutrality.

To BYZANTIUM, DENMARK & SWEDEN:
From Großdeutschlander Republik

A treaty has been signed and russia has co-signed/designed. We hope that this is then end of the war regarding all parties. If we do not get word from your nations regarding peace, it will be taken as a continuation of war.

To Peru, Argentina:
From New Granada:
Indeed, Emperor Armandez desires only friendly relationships with your states. That is why the United States of North America continue to support insurgent forces in Peru and Chile which violently oppose your own governments. That is why the United States of North America propose a sham vote, a mockery of democracy, whose sole purpose is to undermine the stability of your states and extend their own influence into Chile. That is why they have made war upon my country -- their country, if they are to be believed, and their own people -- instead of ever once attempting to negotiate a solution. Indeed, the soldiers of the United States of North America come as friends -- friends bearing deadly weapons with which to subjugate our nations and abolish our free states.

To: New Granada
From: La Plata (NOT Argentina)

Frankly, we see no benefit in allying with you. Words are wind. If you can offer more than wind, perhaps we will consider your offer. We cannot afford to be without allies.

From: Denmark-Norway
To: Germany

As already stated we have no problems with the treaty and will sign it. We are pleased to hear that your nation will adopt a neutral and pacifist approach to the affairs of the world. Our government is on a similar line of thought.

From: Denmark-Norway
To: France

You shall be most welcome. We are honoured to be allowed to repay the hospitality afforded our delegation in Paris.

From: Denmark-Norway
To: The Grenadines

As the situation is currently we can't recognize your nation. Should you, however, come to peace in South/Middle America and get official recognition from either France or Portugal, then we will follow and do the same.

The Byzantine General Staff hadn't yet been fully created and integrated into the structure of the military, but the generals and admirals that made it up still existed...and still argued. One of the two civilians present, the megas logothetes Spiridon Kyriakides, sighed as he was bombarded with questions from the irate strategoi.

"Why, logothete, are we to simply give this land away? We won it be=y the blood of our soldiers and the blood of the Krakowians!"

"I have told you many times, stratopedarch Dodismos, that it is demanded by our allies and is a matter of both course and statesmanship to do so."

"Why all the politicking, logothete? Why should the Germans have that land? Illyria used to be a great Byzantine territory, even through the times of the Bulgar Khanate! Why should we be forced to give it up to some Northern barbarians?"

"Do not forget, megas doux, that the nation of Krakow had conquered those lands before we took them from them. They have a right to that land, too."

"We took those rights away when Venizelos took Spalatum and the rest of Illyria!"

"Not necessarily. And even so, Germany cannot be simply made weak. What good of a nation would that be?"

"A nation that can't stab us in the back after we give them back land we conquered, land that was one of our greatest provinces!"

"We are doing this so that they will not declare war!" Kyriakides was annoyed at the obstinacy of these strategoi. Did they not understand international politics?

"What do we care if they declare war? We beat them at Singidunum and in 1746, and we can beat them now!"

"That was when our Russian allies were fighting them as well. Now, they are not. We will not be left out in the cold; we will sign this peace."

"I hope you know what you're doing, megas logothetes Kyriakides." It was seconded by everyone in the room.

"Yes, generals and admirals, I hope so too." Kyriakides turned to the other civilian in the room. "Send the letter."

To: Greater German Republic
From: Byzantine Empire

We will, albeit grudgingly, sign this treaty. Would you also like to negotiate a non-aggression pact between our two nations for the duration of three years?

Furthermore, we restate our alliance with the Ottoman Empire, and stress that any move against said nation is a move against France. Such applies to the Kingdom of Finland aswell.

Sultan Suleiman III confirms this statement and will do the same should the mighty nation of France be attacked.

Does this not apply to the Byzantine Empire, with which France has also signed a defensive agreement?

Lots of interesting diplo today... don't forget to add treaties, as usual.

Where'd that division go?

Drilled to death, plus deserters. ;)

treaty of Veracruz

Don't seem to recall it - could you repost it or something?

Suleiman III

Wasn't that Selim?

TO: Qing China
FROM: Japanese Empire

We shall make one final offer - which will invariably be rejected - in the interests of limiting human suffering: withdraw from Korea and Sakhalin and cede ownership of them to Japan, and hostilities will cease. These territories are not traditionally Chinese to begin with, and their loss has a negligible influence on your dominion.

You will, in your obvious concern for your people, reject this offer, and condemn the average Chinese peasant to years of misery and suffering as your armies pillage supplies from them, however being Manchu obviously you don't particularly care. We just thought, that for all your posturing of being civilized, it would be interesting to see how you respond when given the civil option. Don't disappoint us.

We are glad that peace is finally returned to central europe. Such NAP is more than acceptable and therefore signed.

Now it is the people of sweden that will determine the Great Eastern European war concluded.

The stage is set for a France-Russia battle for power(wasn't that NES2 IV?)

But wait, in a dramatic twist

Allainces:

France
Denmark
Holy League
Spain
Byzantine
Japanese

Russia
Denmark
Byzantine

Does anyone else notice that all of Russias definite allies are also FRANCES allies. So they would stay neutral during the war.So it becomes Russia versus France and company.....

OOC: Although judging by how alot of France's allies were forced into their spot they might be reluctant;)

Eh, NPC me and sort things out. I've got a math final to study for, and I just don't have the patience for this fight right now. Sorry to those people who this effects.

Assuming that the Danish and/or Byzantines don't decide to through their lots in on one side or the other. (I would expect whichever side they support to win.)

True, true. But then again, if they are neutral, France has Russia flanked with the Growing Japan. In fact, the Sino-Japanese war could escalate into said conflict.... :hmm:

OOC: Except Russia has rather more to gain by backstabbing China, regaining the territory it lost, getting roughly 2 TCs, and fully securing a Pacific port. Engaging with China would also necessarily mean going against Portugal, the nation with the second most TCs behind France... in general, it would boil down to the world vs. Russia and China. We all know, historically, how those types of arrangements wind up.

For the record, I couldn't care less about the barren, frozen wasteland that is Siberia, and really don't care what Russia does so long as it doesn't bother me. I've already laid out what I want.
