with a 13 minute delay?

It uses its strong vision to hunt out prey.. it certainly enjoyed ripping the legs off the Land Ponduryte amongst others.

A land octopussy!

Galorex : Lord_Iggy
Evolved from: Phantomorex
Gene added (you can add 3, or 4 with bonus): Tentacles x2, Brain Power x1 (to x2), Fangs x1 (to x2)
Gene removed (optional, remove up to 3 or 4 with bonus): Swimming x1 (to x1)
Description: This descendant of the Phantomorex has developed into an even more specialized electrosensory predator. Its caudal fin has developed into four gripping tentacles, which can flip up above the body to reach in front of its mouth. Its pectoral fins have developed into long, gripping tentacles, while its dorsal bulge remains as it was previously, being one of the housings of the electrosensory organs. Meanwhile, the Galorex’s brain has developed further, so that it may more effectively camouflage itself and prepare its ambushes. While it is now slightly slower due to its less hydrodynamic tentacles, its lightning-fast tentacles, adept senses, and camouflage mean that speed is hardly necessary for effective predation and survival.

@Lord Iggy, you made me research fish anatomy on wikipedia to find out what a caudal fin was :)

Hey daft, could I use one of the creatures in this as my avatar on a different forum? I'd give credit and a link in my sig.

@Silver Slave, of course, I'd be honoured :) I can have a go at making an avatar pic myself, if you want. I like doing that.

@Abaddon, glad to see that your banishment is at an end :)

Sorry Daft, I do a lot of marine biology. :p

I was inspired to make the Galorex by a very interesting show on discovery about squid. Also, the Maiarix is already very well adapted for its position, with limited competition, so I decided that the Manorix could wait.

I also had an idea of getting the Legionicus to move onto land, forming a competition to the rather boring trees- but I'll get around to that later, or perhaps you could make an NPC evolution if you had such an inclination.

Iggy , i'd just like to formally apologise for having two creatures in last update.

I didn't see any harm since they were in no way really interacting, but you are true, it was not fair for me to have more than one creature.

I'd accept that apology. No hard feelings, from me at any rate.

My only issue was that I have a ton of ideas, and would love to evolve multiple, unrelated lines in one turn. Your successfully doing that just made me jealous.

How long until the update?

:) Just to clarify, thats 10 million years in game-time :) (maybe less than that actually, assuming the early turns were more than 10 million, and are getting shorter as things progress???).

My attention's been all over the place in the past few weeks, a little more than normal. But I will try to post a species picture preview thing in a few days.

 I thought you were being silly!

I look forward to this as ever :D

I'll try to make a creature at some point (I still have a bonus saved up! From like six turns ago or something absurd. :p)

The full Spikii-Finner tree of life, (I consider leggers, scrapers and their decedents as finners).

Very cool :D

Wish we had that for all the different branches and then it would be a simple case of adding a few each update.

Impossible. The picture becomes too big and too messy. This is a new version I worked on today to get it as straight forward as possible, and still look at the Otterus and the living fossil scraper... If that scraper evolves... I'm in problem :p
