Here is a rough drawing of the shelled blob beast.

Evolution and early history of the Velocofish
-It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. - Charles Darwin

Starting around the second epoch mutations began to rapidly break out in the east sea. With other, more advanced creatures quickly taking dominance of the seas, their ancestors were also forced to evolve or die out. Within a few million years after the evolution of predators, most of the prey species were declining in massive numbers.

Among those species were the fastblobs, a species that was literally food for the waiting. Only the fastest could escape the predators that sought to make a meal out of them. Over the course of the next millenium, they were develop into a more competitive species.

The first major change that happened to them was elongation of the fins and the development of a true tail. These benefited the creatures extremely, allowing them to escape their predators quicker. To go along with these evolutions, they needed a better sense of navigation. Their lateral senses weren't good enough to allow them to sense their environment on the run; so after a couple hundred generations a basic set of eyes were developed. They eyes couldn't recognize anything more than light and dark areas however.

The final evolution happened at the relatively close end of the epoch. With decreasing amounts of food available, they were forced to look in new directions. The natural course had them develop into a carnivorous creature, armed with a flexible jaw of soft-bone and a single set of teeth.

(OOC) That took longer than usual. I'll try to post a picture tommorrow.

Evolution of the Blobvac: Double Trouble

For thousands and thousands of years, the Blobvacs floated the ocean, drifting with the winds to get food. But slowly, they developed a SECOND SAIL. OMG. With this second sail, they could move twice as fast, and with newly evoloved "muscles" actaully "flap" the sails to CREATE movement. This allowed them to evade preadators, bring new population booms to them. This was a monet of triumph for the little species that could. They woud become "Blobbus DoublusTrublus"

Neither. PM me.

I haven't watched it. I only have 2 channels, and one of them's the same but french.

But I've read the book. What's the movie like?

The Show was an Animal PLanet show featuring possiblities of lifeo n earth after humans.

Oh and I don't know if these accually work but.

To Iggy Creature
From Exoskeleblob Mk II

We will not eat you if you do not eat us. Deal?

Hmm, luckymoose finally has the right Avatar.

Our guys don't make deals. Although I'm sure that some symbiotic relations between species would be possible.

However, it is not currently in their interests anyway. The Shellions are loners.

Hmm... I'll start with the Freaky Toxic Blob, and evolve stronger toxins/acids/nasty secretions, which will make my species less likely to be eaten over time, and also for killing stuff they bump into so that they can eat it.

Touchyblob (Pre-Tenta-blobbus)
Ancestor: Blobster Mk1
Info: The "hands" i front of the Bloblster evolved to become longer and more felixble while on them nerve "strings" begun to apear, ablt to move and feel further from the animal, thought still are rather short. The mouth became smaller and now the Touchyblob is only able to eat small sea-algea by sensing it and picking it with it's longer "hands". A primitive eye apeared above the creature to look for dangerous above.
Size: very small - small
Habitat: Anywhere there are Sea-Algea, mostly in the equator.
Eats: Sea-Algea and Super-Sea-Algea
Energy: Rather low but it still needs to eat enough in order to escape dangers quickly enough.
Population:
Origin:

By the way, I'd like to protest a little piece of godmoding in the stats list...
Uberblob (Blobbus Uberus)
<snip>
When fully grown, its skin is too tough and thick for any predators to get through.
Does not compute.

When is the update?

Any predator that right now exist... Look at them, so weakling..

If thats tough enough for current predators then my evoled exoskeleton should protect 90% of my blob.

Stinger Algae (Algaeus Porcupinus) Hey, I thought silly names were OK? Stop throwing stuff at me! Ow!

Ancestor: Super Sea Algae
Info: Grows sharp stinger all over the branches to avoid being eaten by animals. Also, has sensory "feelers" that drift around it to detect animals nearby.
Size: Medium
Habitat: Warm, shallow ocean floor
Eats: Omnivore. Eats lesser algae and tiny animals/juveniles.
Energy: Low-medium
Population:
Origin:
