New civ : Dagda's Tears

looks way more si fi then fantasy like it would be better off on planet fall.

v0.2.5 released.
Small change, except for the graphic part where now the size promotions actually impacts the size of the units, and units can naturally grow with age

Good to hear you have fun with the new Shame system. Note that the Passion has been greatly changed to become less of a monster so quickly as now and depends more on the units sacrificed to it (need to keep them alive!), and a more gradual strength as it can only absorb 1 Tear per level. (but it should still become a power house after some time.

Sorry, but when you say "invade", you mean "destroy" right ? (you cannot actually "take" the other city, I mean ?)

Too powerful ? :)

OK here the short answer:

Currently

Every Tear starts with a size, depending on your technological "level". As of now:
+ Start of game => SIZE : Tearling (-1/-2)
+ Tech Drama known => SIZE : Tear (+0/+0)
+ Tech Theology known => SIZE : Great Tear (+1/+2)
+ Tech Strength of Will known => SIZE : Greater Tear (+3/+4)
Once born, a Tear will keep its size, even if the Tech is learned!

My current target:
Tears will have a chance to increase size when getting older also, even without the tech researched.
Also nstead of making it depend on an actual Tech, I'm thinking of making it depends on the Tech area.

Yeah, I mean destroy. Shames might need to be slightly buffed or something, as, like I said, they're useless later in the game, unless they get really lucky (unless its intended as such). And the promos aren't too overpowered, but they are all good, and they fill their role well. One more thing- I haven't actually seen units run away from fears, or units with the + version of the fear.

Care to develop this into a few more sentences?

Suggestion on Meanness Tear name -> Wicked Tear.

Actually, 2 points:

+ Wild from Shame are équivalent to other Wilds except that
- They get +25% str from the Shame
- They can be produced fairly easily from combat and/or absorbtion

So they can be upgraded and I think only this already makes Shame useful.

+ Shame will soon get commander promos to improve even more their "children". They should however stay weak themselves (as opposite to Passion), as it will be their weakness.

Hum, it should work in latest patch. The behavior is 2 things:
+ units should run when attacked (same as other units with Fear)
+ units close to Fear will slowly become crazy and become barbarian (not effective against barbarian, but good against other civ cities for example).

Can you confirm that in these circumstances you see the expected behavior ?

I'd have to reload with the newest patches, and I'm busy atm, but I'll see what I can do. However, one big thing just came to mind- Cultural flipping.

I had a barbarian city flip towards me, keeping its happy and health. I'm not sure what other things were affected (I'll edit the post with more info after loading the game), but It occured to me how easily you could take cities away from enemies by placing a city outside their borders, terraform everything, pump population, then flip it. And what happens if the reverse is true, and someone flips a tear city? And does the Tolerant trait work on the tears, or are their cities auto- razed when captured?

EDIT-

Can't load the save anymore. I'll try to test this, which will come with another edit.

Double Edit-
Cities can flip without a problem, but no other problems appear besides the fact that they can.

Wait and see :)

Well, never occured to me so never looked into it.
It should ever flip or be destroyed.

OK, city flipping because of culture solved :) (not yet released).
I'll release when I can complete the magic line units and system (take some work to do)

So how do i install your mod? I try to launch it and get millions of xml errors saying correction paths... so i have to install it on the fall farther mod or not? right now it's on it's own dictionary folder.

do you have FF 0.51 with patch c ?
If so it should work fine.

did you run first the 0.2 version and then the V0.2.5 patch ?

yeah, I played it and to be honest, it's good... however I dislike the fact that I can only build 2 units and my units could only produce the fighting and defending units... too many unit spamming which kinda irratates me... If I can build my units, I won't have a problem...

Actually being converted to RifE :)
With some major changes:
+ no more cities
+ much better spreading effect
+ control on spread direction
+ no more randomness in unit generation
