New civ unlocks via ingame decisions

Hand grenades and horse shoes in the Pacific; 1000 miles away is close enough for it to work.

So yeah pretend Philippines = Hawaii got it got it logical logical.
Can you be a little more s'Pacific on why you don't like it? :mischief:

Do all conditions have to be satisfied or at least one of them?

Do you need both 3 silk improved and 8 resources slotted to play Ming or just having 3 silks or 8 resources is enough?

Feels like Spain should have a second unlock option. Even if it was just like "have 15 coast tiles in your empire borders" or something. Otherwise, mostly it's 3 of some specific resource. I guess with a small map, that's probably not super easy to get.

They didn't show all of the unlocks (the show all requirements box wasn't checked)... so ones that they couldn't get were left out.

This may be a stupid question but what you haven't done anything to unlock any of these Exploration age civs? Are you then just relying on your leader's unlock?
There are three ways to unlock a civ for the next age:
- have a certain leader
- play a civ ("historical" unlocks)
- perform certain "feats" during the previous age (the one shown in the images in this post)

So if you are sure to play Normas in exploration, you can take the "sure route" of selecting Rome as your antiquity civ, or play the more "roudabout route" of building at least 5 walls. You can also pray to be lucky enough to get three iron ressources to improve (or ready to conquer some fitting settlements 🏴‍☠️ ). It's up to you.

I really like those "feats unlocks", since it means that you can alter your initial "trajectory" to select a more fitting civ for the next age depending on the map.

at 3:38 shows Spain with all unlocks ticked, and unfortunately no other gameplay unlock for them

Edit: forgot to add that he shows America’s full unlocks as well which I hadn’t yet seen.

Am I the only one who don't follow the logic behind the "Play as Rome" unlock for America? :hmm:

You need to repeat your Western Civ class.

America is the direct and sole true successor to the Glory that was Rome.

Similar to Prussia, I think their point is that Rome is a predecessor to lots of civs that end up eventually resulting in the England that Colonized America, some which aren't yet or may never be added in the game, so they have the Rome connection.
I would have gone for Greece, going with the whole "Founders of Democracy" route.
