napoleon is napoleon ig. attaching it to a leader that theoretically ppl would want a lot makes sense. firaxis missed an opportunity to shut the drone of “YOU MESSED UP ENGLAND” up by making it a british leader tho. So much unnecessary civfanatics discourse could’ve been avoided.

of course if it was up to me, i’d have made it a leader that is less common or someone all new—idk, a zenobia, lili’uokalani, rajendra chola, akbar, tupac amaru ii

The agendas are flavorful. How dare you form an alliance against me! Your navy is clearly a threat to my power!

I'm surprised the Mughals civ guide didn't come today and Napoleon on Thursday

There's something vaguely satisfying about Revolutionary Napoleon being Civ5 Montezuma (yes, I know Gorgo had the same ability more recently). There's something even more satisfying about being disincentivized to link my account. :mischief:

few people hate napoleon as much as Zaarin lol

Though the fact that we're getting so many French leaders means I can still hold out hope for Bon roi Henri IV.

Or better yet, Napoleon III so you'd have a Napoleon you could dislike, despise and laugh at all at the same time . . .

I would never laugh at Napoleon III. He has a much too imposing mustache.

Interesting he has agendas which aren't decrease/increase for the same thing.

That's part of Zaarin's agenda
Agenda: Dislikes Napoleon, Victoria, and other low-personality leaders as well as leaders with terrain-based or one-note agendas. :mischief:

Love it, it's great to see agendas that make sense. He'll be the first leader I play as, probably with the Emperor persona because I plan to be a massive jerk on my first game going Rome > Norman > French Empire which is unusual for me as I prefer semi-tall gameplay with a focus on science and production. Fun days ahead.

Listening to his voice in the First Look, he has a Corsican accent, right? Nice to hear if so!
it’s so cool, but it does hurt a little bit that the effort put into these can differ so much

himiko speaking in antiquated-sounding modern japanese, for example

The Emperor persona unique ability is among the most interesting and creative in the game. Very excited to play as him.

It's probably worth recalling the amount of effort needed, too. I don't imagine it's difficult to find a French-speaking Corsican voice actor, for example, given it is the official and most spoken language on the island.
