New PBEM adaptation of TGW-Div 1.6: Playtesting!

If you don't want humans entering AI countries, that's different too. Change all the AI agression levels to 1

In our first PBEM game I did just that. I gave Belgium to France, Serbia to Russia, and so forth. Than the rest were declared "true" neutrals and they were supposed to be super friendly. No agression, no offensive units, peace with everyone. Guess what? They declared on every single human civ! We got a 3rd force in conflict and lot's of nonsense. British made gains in Spain. Germany in Arabia and Sweden. Neutrals from Sweden attacked Russia. Neutrals from Spain attacked France.

But now the only house rule you need is just leave really neutral countries alone! They don't bother you, you don't bother them. Fight with "Netral" Serbia, but don't land in Denmark with Marines. Is it so unhistorical? :) If you dont like name Neutrals I can replace it with Others :)

Ok guys, we have a big and ANNOYING problem.

Last turn I stupidely rushed two Workers in Populations 1 Giblartar and Scapa FLow. In regular Single player game you just get nothing, no Worker gets build, until you have enough food to go to population 2.

Game crashes when it approaches to Scapa Flow build report at the very begining, when you get all your builds. I have tryed EVERYTHING. I changed Worker build before it get reprted, I downloaded Griffon's multi tool and edited SAV file (I know admistrative password for this game). Nothing works, even though I have done different tricks, like adding extra population, or changing build to transport.

We need help, otherwise we would need to re-start from my last British save!

Any ideas from ANYONE?

Have you tried just loading the original save file for this week from Cyc? It would mean of course you would have to play your turn over again.

Well, I can certainly load Week 31 turn SAV file, but not Week 32! I just asked Cyc to load it himself. I just hope that he will be able to load it and the SAV file got corrupted during the email attachement. Otherwise it just feels very sad to get stuck like this right when things were getting hotter and hotter.

Unless I understand the reason WHY is this happening, same problem may develop again and again, even after we restart from Week 31 SAV (and agree to do the same things we did during Week 32). I just checked that Worker may be not a problem, so it can be something else...

GUy, I propose to pass around the test file -- lets just hit End of Turn for all the Week 32 turns and Cyc can see if Week 32 British game is still crashes. So Moff I am sending you the Italy Week 32, don't play it please, to save time and effort, this is test to see why this happening.

Sorry guys. I have apparently been blocking myself from accessing this site.

I tried to load your save Tigranes. It crashed just as you said it would. Before I read the above posts, I figured it was because you rushed workers in pop 1 cities. I had gone back and loaded the Week 31 save and saw what the numbers were. There is something drastically wrong with your production numbers also. Alexandria, which has a distance from London about the same as the entire expanse of Russia has no corruption. It gets like 88 shields per turn. I realize you are in a Golden Age, but this is far from enhanced production. This could also be part of your problem.

I'll go take a look. :)

Ok, noted a couple of changes in the English Empire's initial run-through, but it played out to a ship move, so everything's good. What did you do?

Actually I didn't do anything. Just hit enter and ended my turn and passed it to you. Was I supposed to play out my turn as normal?

I don't think so MoffJ. That was just a test run. But the English Empire production Report (showing what was completed IBT) was not the same. Also things like there was no offer from Orlando, and Mudros rioted. Little things.

So now Tigrnes needs to play the turn like he really wants to. Then passes it you you for your normal play. After you have finished (are you pulling out of Denmark?), You send to me and we are back on track. If it doesn't crash on Tigranes again, we are back to normal.

I was going to mimic my moves fron the crahed run, but now more in the favor of the unrestriced new rerun. I mean, unless there are any objections... Will play tonight...

If that is the case then does that mean we've not fought the initial round of the battle of Jutland and that Cordoba is still alive?

Yes, both British and Italians were very conservative in their actions for the Take Two. You still can engage them during your turn :) New Save sent to Moff.

Were you able to determine what caused your original save file to crash? Should we worry this could occur again? Did you try to re-download the original save file from your email and play the turn without crashes?

Original, you mean week 32? No, it crashes ... Let's hope take 2. Week 32 does not. And no, no clue why in happens :((

gps Cyc.

I pulled out of Denmark per house rules.

Killed 5 French Rifle A outside of Nancy. Lost 1 German Rifle A.

Killed 4 Italian Rifle A outside Trieste. Lost 3 German Cavalry and 2 German Rifle A in the process.

Not as spectacular a victory as last time before the crash. :(

I'm hoping we won't get anymore crashes. Let's see what happens this time when you get this weeks turn. If we do have another crash at any point in the game we should start a new game after an investigation is made into the current biq. Nothing takes the wind out of the sails as having to replay a turn and not have as favorable or unfavorable a turn as the original time through.

Things are a little different this time around.

We do accept an ROP and 1000 gold from the French.

We send a Light Cruiser in to shell Memel and it hits what appears to be the same class ship for two HPs. Then out of pure luck (or bad luck) one of our Observation Planes discovers a huge German Fleet heading East towards Memel. It consists of at least 20 units to include a Battle Cruiser and a Helgoland. Massive ships in a massive Fleet. Luckily our Light Cruiser got in, struck, and got back out.

All else is pretty much quiet on the Western front.

The French receive no emmissary from th Italians, so they send one offering an ROP and Rubber. Orlando should note that the French have already accepted the deal, so he only need to hit "accept".

Artillery in Nancy fires East at a Vet German A Inf (6/6) unit but misses. The second Artie hits for 2 HPs, the 3rd misses, the 4th hits another unit for 1 HP. Three 155mm Cannons hit. 2 for 2 HPs, one for one HP. Then another Artie find a German Machine Gun nest for 1 HP.

French Observation Planes pretty much report the same as last time, but add that a wounded Hindenburg Army (12/16) is resting in Metz. Also a wounded Moltke Army (14/15) is in Frankfurt. The German Army is immense. East of Nancy 32 units on a hill, to their SE 8 more units, to their South 5 more units. All crack troops. No time to bombard the Iron, as the French seem to be out-numbered 3 to 1.

Wine consumption this week sets a French record...

gps to Tigranes.
