Hey all,

New version inbound. Mainly bugfixes, but with a few small balance tweaks here and there.

General
  • Some major tactical AI bugfixes, especially for large fronts
  • Fixed diplomatic issues with unit capture/razing leading to erratic AI behavior
  • Github fixes and requests resolved
  • Finalized some MP tweaks - MP should be pretty stable now. If not, it is your issue! :)
Balance
  • Religion

      • Council of Elders: 10 (from 4)
      • Ceremonial Burial: 10 (from 5)
      • Holy Law: 5 (from 3)
      • Transcendence: 30 (was 25)
    • Knowledge Through Devotion - can purchase archaeologists with faith, buffed tile yields.
  • Civs
    • Celts: UA tweaks - Has a unique set of Pantheon Beliefs that no one else can benefit from. Cities with your Religion generate nor receive foreign Religious Pressure. +3 Faith in owned Cities where your Religion is the majority.
      • Pantheons grant modest yield increases to Ceilidh Hall - see civiliopedia for details
  • Wonders
    • Temple of Artemis- now gets a free Herbalist (was Barracks)

Ah nice just the changes I wanted. :D

Artemis no longer awkward to build and enemy civs don't get eternally salty when I rescue my worker.

Was it ever actually Barracks?

That was a joke. :)

No, and the discussion seemed to end pretty anti-herbalist, at least that's how I saw it

Of all the options it was the most...neutral? I like the consistency of early wonders offering a free building, and herbalist fits the role without being too strong (barracks) or too early (granary).

Interesting that you see herbalist as weaker than barracks, while the discussion seemed to end with a consensus that herbalist would be the stronger building.

Although i suppose it is better for a Wonder to be situationally very strong than rushed by everyone every game beause it is all around strong.

Do you mean stuff like +1 scientist point from Great Library? My Tech Tree shows those as usual.

@Gazebo so final verdict on standardization? I can make some more points on why it's good but I don't think it will make a difference.
If not then on what settings is the game most balanced around? Standard speed and size?

Nice job as always but this patch is missing two things, first the knowledge through devotion tweak and second, the artistry rearrangement because right now, even if you prioritize writer's guild in your cities, you can't get more than one GW when you pick humanism or refinement making artistry a bad option for progress and authority. there is only tradition that can pick those policies with 3 + great work.

Man, all here play on different settings. I can tell you, that after a year playing this(2 full games every week), u can calculate how many times I play this:
large map,continents/pangea,epic speed: emperor/immortal/deity - it is very good balanced. Yeah, there was some versions when some civs was overpowered - but then was next patch and all becomes fine.
Really, I read ur posts(I almost read most post, but don't like to comment myself) - I understand why u want standardization.
When I see something wrong in a game(balance), I just make saves, screens and go GitHub creating a thread. Sometimes it help.
And yeah, I am still want to create a post about Russia+Zealotry+autocracy(babam!). It's crazy combination(u almost always have all combat monopolies), but for last 2 weeks I have no time of that. With this version maybe if nothing was changed(from August) I will do it.
But to ask all people play mostly on one settings - it is too cruelly. This is not a tournament game it is not a CS/LoL/HoTS or SC. It is just for fun or sometimes for survival/challenge.
