To start w/ I like the originality. There are things to fix as has been said elsewhere, BUT I like it.

My question .... how do I expand into other star systems. I built a star base and warp lines, but I can't get the colonization ship to do anything. When I click to move onto a star or a planet I get a drop down list of planets w/ a continue button at the bottom, but can't colonize anythiinnng!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help!

Click on the planet that you want the ship to colonize. It has to be one of the ones in the inner ring.

If clicking brings up the system preview screen then you should update your game to the last patch, version 3.19 (don't use the in-game update - it generally doesn't work, grab the patch from this site or the official site). Somewhere along the way it was changed so that you double click to bring up the system preview screen instead of just a single click so it no longer interferes with movement.

Until then, you can move the colony ship (and one or more escorting ships, hopefully) next to the target system and then use the numerical keypad on your keyboard to do the last move and click on the button to found a new colony.

Also, once you are running BtS v3.19 you should try the Final Frontier Plus mod from here. It's mostly the same only better - a little more content (unique units and unique buildings for each civ, a few national wonders and a few world wonders, a few new technologies, units, and buildings, some resources on some planets, and maybe a few more things) and it also does not have the unpleasantly long processing time between turns - it is similar in speed to regular BtS.
