Required Planning, Questions

In the Upcoming War thread, several specific plans are already formed. I will try to analyze and post a list of other cities that could support war units. I feel we need to rebuild our Dragoon force, but an Ironclad or two come first.

Possible work plan:
  • Nemo: extra war units, also Build Q polls.
  • DoM: how many Ironclads, how soon, what to do with them?
  • Funxus: more detailed Spanish War plans, then consolidate them Monday per Jayne's request.
  • Civ1: Islands and what to do, this turn, with the new island Engrs?
  • What else? What new opportunities does Democracy provide?
  • I am particularly concerned with Capricornium and Melampyrun, which will double up on Engineers and face unhappiness, development of the Gordium area, and
  • Shipping? We have Ferries near Prague and York.Downs.
  • Beast, Boreum and Indian Ferries must remain on station, eh? Udal too?
  • What about Antioch? Barbs? Expel the Persians? Perhaps we can ship an extra Dip from Boreum to Antioch? Can Cold.Front Island help?
  • Indians? Expel them all? New island Sw of Elysium? Van safety?
  • New cities? Guards? Engrs for Rail, Shields and/or Irrigation?
  • New favored cities? Uppsala? Routskilde? others?
  • Science? Vet Ironclads or Magnetism? Genetic? Darwin?
Funxus, Indian Watcher is Size=1. We have 2 Dips, 2 Rifles and 2 Vans in the city. The Dips have moved, so we can't check the price of that Catapult. Too bad, Indian Watcher supports 2 Dips and a Rifle. Perhaps we could all pray?
 
Gary posted on the first page the changes to prevent the government from falling but the build queues he posted along with it were kind of short. Especially when Jayne decides to play another 10 turns! (I hope she will do that! :) )

Ideas for new engineers

NONE caravel near Beast Flats should:
- pick up Penguin Flats engineer
- pick up Frozen Toe engineer
- pick up diplo somewhere
- sail to Persia and settle 2E 2SE of Gordium and build roads between Gordium and the new city.

Hladir engineer can found S1

Capricornium engineer can found N 2NW of Prague

T-falls and MT engineers can found iron island and 3NW of Addict Town.

T-falls, MT engineer can make some RR before being shipped, CJ engineer can make some RR too and be shipped to Persia.
 
I've made a little plan for the Hamburg and Salzburg settlers along with a visual explanation of what I had in mind for the Penguin Flats and Frozen Toe settlers.
Circles are cities, lines are roads.

Insisting to withdraw troops

Indians: wait until all their units are within our city radii (also elephant in Addict Towns radius) then kindly ask that they remove their troops. By doing this we only have the risk they declare war on us once and we get rid of all their troops.

Persians: don't ask them to withdraw just yet. I want them to block any landings by barbarians! :D
It would be a good idea to ship the Boreum diplo to Antioch, it will only take 2 turns.

Ren Rifle: head to Neuma and rehome there,
  Keep Ren Dragoon in Hladir while Rifle walks.

Starting now. I'll play a couple of turns into Democracy, then stop so the experts can check we are OK, then play the remaining turns tomorrow - hopefully to about 1760?
