NFL 2009 Regular Season

Can Reid be blamed for not wanting to run the ball very much with Westbrook always being hurt?

Allow me to rephrase an earlier statement.

McNabb is not as bad as most people say that he is. He is bad for the system that he is playing in and you might have figured that after nearly 11 years in the same system that he would have gotten it, better. However, the vast majority of the blame is deservedly on Andy Reid. His offense has been one-dimensional for his entire tenure. He has never run the ball consistently greater than 39 percent of the time and he has never learned that every time he does run the ball even that little, he wins. So, McNabb is in a bad system where the entire offense in solely on his shoulders. However, he still has accuracy problems and often just seems like a goof-ball on the field. I don't think that overall, he is bad. I think he is in a bad system that he just cannot seem to adjust to, so it is time to go, because as El Justo pointed out, Andy Reid is here to stay. That is scary.

That's probably the best explained, and clearest, explanation for opposition to McNabb that I've ever seen. :high5:

Chan Gailey to be next Bills Head Coach

This might be the worst NFL hire I have ever seen. Worse than Lane Kiffin, Art Shell, Dave Campo, Jim Zorn, Dave Wannstedt...this even gives Rich Kotite a run for his money, but I wasn't watching football back then.

For the life of me I don't understand why NFL teams go so gaga over lousy retreads.

No -Kotite is in a league of his own. At least Gailey managed (barely) to have
a winning record in Dallas - Not saying he's good, but he's not historically bad, either.

And no, I wouldn't have hired him to turn my team around.

2002 Georgia Tech 7-6 4-4 5 (tied) L Silicon Valley Classic — —
2003 Georgia Tech 7-6 4-4 4 (tied) W Humanitarian Bowl — —
2004 Georgia Tech 7-5 4-4 6 (tied) W Champs Sports Bowl — —
2005 Georgia Tech 7-5 5-3 3 (Coastal) L Emerald Bowl — —
2006 Georgia Tech 9-5 7-1 1 (Coastal) L Gator Bowl — —
2007 Georgia Tech 7-6 4-4 3 (Coastal) L Humanitarian Bowl

He started Reggie bleedin' Ball for 4 years. He could barely win over half his games in a terrible ACC. He squandered loads of talent in Dallas. He got fired before the season even began in KC.

I can only say that I am old enough to remember Kotite. He makes Gailey look like Lombardi.

As I said, I agree that this is a bad hire for Buffalo in terms of getting the team turned around.

So, I guess Leslie Frazier, Bill Cowher and all the other good candidates didn't want the job then...

Another way to put it is that when push came to shove, Ralph Wilson couldn't convince himself to cough up the money or control the bigger names would want.
