We have to make room for civs such as Scythia, Brazil, Kongo and Norway.

Mongols? Who are they? Doesn't matter, we're trying to go in a new direction by adding lesser known civs to the game.

Just as long as they don't come at the cost of excluding must have civs like America, England, Germany, France, Russia, Egypt, Rome and Greece. I mean you obviously have to have those, they're important.

Not like the Mongols who never had any real impact on history whatsoever.

Maybe add them in later as DLC if the mood strikes.

You're right! Their gameplay niche is already mostly filled by Scythia, AND they got to introduce a new Civ that way. Very efficient, imo.

All of the Civs have been fantastic so far, with different playstyles and great flavor. I'm very pleased. The Mongols can come later, like in Civ5.

Anyone that have seen crash course history knowns that they are the exception! They can possibly be included in the base game, that wouldn't be an exception.

I hope they will come in an expansion /DLC soon and more than just a horse rush civ. Something like they can build UU and UI in conquered cities would be cool. Or gets a culture and science bonus proportional to conquered civ. Or gets two free keshik from each conquered city.

They should have been in Civ VI Vanilla but I must admit that Scythia is pretty cool.

They'll come soon enough in either DLC or an expansion. So, I can be patient and not get worked up about it.

I do hope that the Mongols will have multiple leaders, though, and not being in Vanilla makes that less likely.

Didn't we have this discussion when Scythia was announced?

Hey Westwall,

Good to see you again. On the topic or the mongols. I think they are there in spirit for now, and they are showing new civs. I think that's better than having the usual civs. I dont doubt they will add mongolia later, and they will ve different this time around possibly, so maybe we will like them even more. They will learn what works and doesnt from our feedback and make dlc's with more experience behind them, i cant help but feel that this is only a good thing.

Scythia seems to be a replacement for the Mongols. AND the Mongols did one good thing; introduction of gun powder to Europe.

I really hope the Mongols will come back with very interesting game play to their ua. I kind of hope they will implement their ua similar to the mongol scenario in civ iv where they start with gers/yurts that produce units and you conquer cities, which you can then make settlers. Doesn't have to be exact but something similar would be interesting and nice.

Calm down the Mongols will come back on dlc or expansion. Also Scythia doesn't replace the Mongols, if anything they replace the Huns.

And that's all I'm saying, it was discussed to death on the Scythia thread.

If you are implying that the only good thing that the Mongols did was help facilitate the introduction of gunpowder to Europe, you need to brush up on your history a little bit. ;)

Mongols would probably play different from Scythia if their UU is medieval. It was a nice distinction between them and the Huns in V. You had plenty of time to expand and get infrastructure going while you rushed Chivalry. Then if you hit it right away you could field Keshiks against classical units.

Sure they're both horse archer rushes but they pan out a little different so I don't think Scythia is really stealing their thunder. If anything I think the Scythia CiV is excluding Huns rather than Mongols.

I'd expect them and Persia as early DLC. Man, people really get their panties in a bunch over civs...
