None Shall Pass 2 [Game Thread - Concluded]

I like this idea, we haven't had any games like that since It's a Long Story. I thought TheForestAuro was going to host a similar sequel at some point (I think he still has a place in the NOTW hosting queue), but he hasn't been here in 3-4 years now.
There was also Atto Ngoogol. There's also a possibility that there will still be a sizable number of players as unaffiliated town (resulting in a setup closer to the Shadow Fort than It's a Long Story), but we'll see.

I would really like to see it. What universe would you think about?
IMO, it would be great if it was another kind of universe: we have already fantasy one, and Sci-Fi one, so there could be horror, gothic, myth, or something like these
Problem is, I don't think a universe that's too "realistic" would really fit. Having characters from Breaking Bad or something would seem a bit jarring and weird.

I might pull a small amount of characters from multiple universes, actually. These were some I was thinking about:

- Futurama

- Mass Effect

- Dragon Age

- Battlestar Galactica

- characters from other mafia games I've hosted

- Legend of Zelda (though I don't know this universe too well)

- expanded universes for Star Wars and LOTR (such as KOTOR and Shadow of Mordor)

- Batman

- The Avengers

- various mythological characters (e.g. Zeus, Hercules, Odin)

- Death Note

- Star Trek

If anyone else has good suggestions, throw them my way. Obviously I won't be able to fit in everything, though. Maybe in None Shall Pass 4

You could take some from many different universes, and make each faction a group of five from one particular universe? Or something like that?

Seriously? How many times do I need to answer this question? Look at your conditions for defeat. Maybe my next game should be an interpretive dance since no one can be arsed to read.

I did. But we clearly completed the VC before the defeat condition was applicable. Seems silly to retrospectively take that away.

but whatever.

That was never how it worked, the timing didn't matter. I didn't retroactively change that.

I should probably clarify the victory conditions, since there seems to be some confusion in private. Default town VC below, with my notes in purple:

Spoiler :
Victory Conditions:

Major Victory: All threats to the Town are eliminated, and you survive to the end of the game. Self-explanatory.

Victory: All threats to the Town are eliminated. At least one member of the Town must survive.

Defeat: The Town is eliminated. Even if all town threats are eliminated, if the Town is eliminated this still results in a Town defeat. This also applies to any other faction whose defeat conditions includes their faction's elimination -- it overrides fulfillment of your condition for "Victory".

Major Defeat: The Town is the first faction eliminated. Again, even if all town threats are eliminated, if the Town is the first faction eliminated then all members of the Town are subject to a "Major Defeat".

Christos, if your still following this thread, I'm curious: Why did you accuse me? Was it merely because I voted for you, or did you have some other purpose in mind?

I wasn't really sure about the corruption thing (Sauron was dead, after all) but I had no problem with promoting a rumour that might have helped a potentially powerful item fall into my hands.

You're asking for an item that you yourself are saying might make people scummy?

And you wonder why the town thought you were evil.

No, no, no. The myth was that it would corrupt anyone whose alignment was 'good'.

This merely proves my point: a lot of anti-town townies in this game.

You, spreading an incorrect rumor to potentially get an item that only fulfills your PG (and then you would have been nightkilled for having it, moving the ring back into jedi hands)

Snerk, trusting the Jedi even when he knew they had to kill his LOTR peers

Christos, fakeclaiming cop

i'd anti-recommend death note

or make it exclusively after ep 25 huehue (referring to the show)

Your bitterness is completely right, though, there were a lot of anti-town townies, especially christos and Takhisis.
