It was a bright summer day in the hills above Sinon, about three months after the missionaries' arrival, when the body was found. Life in Sinon was quiet, quieter than usual actually, as a number of the older shades hadn't been seen around lately. The Ranger was out hunting when he found the Border Guard Autolycus' corpse with its head smashed in.

Spoiler :
Autolycus the Border Guard was interested in National Integrity!

Indistinct tracks led back to the village. He brought the body back and the Elder Council met in private to decide what to do.

The following was posted the next morning on the door of the Inn:
1. Someone has killed the Border Guard, so we must assume we face imminent invasion. The strength of our people being critical to repelling any such invasion, unauthorized fading is strictly prohibited.
2. Being as the killer seems to be someone in this village, we must take immediate action.
3. We, the people. shall therefore choose someone who will be required to fade or die each evening, starting tonight.

With a grim face, the people fell to discussing

Ah, I'm last on the list! I feel important! Therefore I will target Skooma Addict for being first, therefore, least important.

"Pff what a tragedy! I still need to clean out the stables and the horse trader is nowhere to be found!"

That Border Guard Autolycus, his head was quite the mess. Whoever did that must be powerful, obviously, but then again so was the border guard. This Head Smasher probably got the jump on Autolycus through stealth and I think we all know who is the sneakiest around here. It's the Librarian, kennigit he's always sneaking up on people and telling them to quiet down. Evidence enough I'd say.

"My files inform me that the Librarian and Mayor's names must be capitalized."

It's good to see the game up and running. As for the death of Autolycus, I say it's the Judge, Renata. I mean, who else is there to blame than the law??

Catharsis is now the Horse Trader. I will try to send cip his PM one more time in about 12 hours. If he hasn't enabled PMs by then he'll be replaced.

The Hoarse Trader shuffles towards the inn.

Erhum... achem! Achem! Hrrrmph... sorry 'bout this, bit of a, hrrrch! Sore throat today... I say we get rid o' that, achem, Zack, ugliest actress I ever did see... hrrrm...

Eh, why not, Midday will be in about 28.5 hours, that's midnight Eastern Time. Night fall will probably be 24 hours after that, but no guarantees.

Ravus the Blacksmith strode into the Elder Council.

"What are you ninnys playing at! You call yourself Sidar! The Old and Wise? This isn't some foolhardy invasion attempt, it's a diversion! While you were all looking outwards some thieves have made of with my forge. A Forge! Great big honking thing it is. Not like a hammer you can sneak of in your person. It's Huge!"

Ravus glared at all the Elders, especially holding the eyes of the Judge, Jailor and Mayor whom Ravus considered in charge of keeping thieves of the streets. He wasn't impressed so far.

"Well looks like the Horse Trader has turned up. Maybe you didn't like the price of my horse shoes eh Catharsis? And don't think i'm not going to keep my eye on you bestrfcplayer! Trying to blame the judge while there are thieves on the loose..."

OOC: so... hi. I'm here. RL is a tad busy but i'm here.

The actor took the stage.
"Fortune, which has a great deal of power in other matters but especially in war, can bring about great changes in a situation through very slight forces.
"It is not these well-fed long-haired men that I fear, but the pale and the hungry-looking. "
He took a bow, and left the stage.

It's clearly that Jailer, Ekolite! Aren't jailers always shifty people? You know this is true!

The Sculptor is clutching what appears to be a sculpture of a square. Some who know better figure out that it's a sculpture of a security blanket.

So, Classical Hero, what kind of a Ritualist are you? Are you one of those type that say mumbo jumbo and pray to the gods, or are you one of those types who carve the still beating heart out of human flesh while saying mumbo jumbo and praying to the gods?

It's not the price that bothers me Ravus... achem... it's that you sell them, hrrrch, in packs of three. Erhummm.

Quite a bad sore throat you've got there... how, pray tell, did you come down with this affliction?

And the packs of three are the middle ground. Those centuars want packs of two for some reason and you want packs of four. Picking three instead makes perfect sense! Just buy four packs and you can outfit three horses.

The Horseshoes arn't the big money earners they used to be anyway. These days it's all about the Rhino shoes. Have you seen those things that the dwarf knights ride? Insane it is. But they need ruddy big shoes and wear them out quickly.

Now has NOBODY seen or heard anything about my forge? It's huge! How could you have all missed it being nicked. You would have needed a small army to lug it out of my shop!

Diamondeye, a bookie is a person who takes bets. On anything. Only a shade would not know that.
A fruit vendor? Pffft. I think it's just a cover for whatever you're supposed to do. What do you have in the back of the shop there, Mr.?

The Tailor guesses he won't be expecting any more shipments of Kurios' fine clothes anytime soon.

"I don't like the looks of link16. Since when can you ever trust an axman?"
