also you completely forgot about the mythical Gojoseon and our supposed origins (South Korean insist that original Koreans were a branch of a Mogol tribe who settled in the Korean peninsula.......(although I doubt that Mongols would ever settle down. they still ride around Mongolia on horseback which proves tobe very frustrating for Mongolian officials cuz they wont be ab to make a accurate count of the population)

The Koreans are descendants of Altaic settlers. They later colonized Japan. Mongols? A bit of a stretch. Also, Gojoseon didn't exist . That's like me claiming King Arthur as a real king or that Jesus actually came to America.

The Koreans first developed around 100 BC. They then made 3-4 cool civs. Then they united. They then made a cool, unique, Asian-y civ. They made metal movable type. They invented a cool alphabet. Then they made an efficient gov. Then they got conquered. Then they played Starcraft.

I guess you can just mix China and Japan, and shake well.

I would have given some thought to China and Korea's history being mixed; but Japn is a whole different story!!!(except for the Korean Kingdom of Baekjae, which has been a point ocontroversy between Korean and Japanese scholars, for the Japanese claim ito be a part of their history, hwile KOreans think not; what further complicates the problem is that the current Tenno of Nihon(Akihito for anybody who doest wht Im talking about)claimed tt one of his ancestors were from Baekjae descent.......)
East Asian scholars really should put nationalism away and look at history objetively.....History isnt supposed to be biased in the first place;its a objective view of what events occured during the past

Whether or not they could in any fair way be described as actual Koreans, rather than as nomadic or semi-nomadic groups that happened to be moving through Korea before they got to Japan, and how much any of these group could honestly be described as Korean...that's a whole other ball game, and one most of my university profs (university of montreal, Asian studies center) had the good sense to stay out of (those who didn't have that sense were the Korean profs themselves. I didn't have any Japanese prof, but I don't imagine their being much better), present both views, and say "That's mostly a matter for nationalistic claptrap".

The debate can be summarized as follow:

Korea: "HEY U UR EMPROR IZ KOREAN ROFLOL"
JAPAN : "O RLY?"
K: "YES RLY"
J: "NO WAI"
K: "YES WAI"

General Ulchi Mundok was a Goguryo general who defended Goguryo from the invading Sui army; the Sui army was butchered by the Goguryo army (the Sui army was much more bigger in numbers than the Goguryo army)

Exactly my point. Aand the fact is there is no evidence all of these hpotheses by both Japanese and Korean scholars. They are never objective.......(well, i guess the most crazy scholars are the Chinese scholars unde Goverment payroll; they make no sense at all)

um......well the muslims at least have a sphere of influence(even if it is just nominal);Korea has no influence or a sphere of influence on anybody.
Poland had an interesting history;personally liked the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the pre-WWII period of their history when Pidulski(i cant remember how to spell his name correctly) sent the Soviet soldiers under Tukachevsky away( I recall that this war was called the Polish-Soviet War of1922)............

Well, Paekhae (sp?) ruled over Manchuria for a while. Otherwise Korea being sandwiched in between Japan and China didn't really have a chance to expand out of the peninsula. (There was significant migration to Japan, China, Russia and elsewhere during the 19th century though).

That's actually very significant. The Korea Republic transformed itself from a authoritarian, agrarian, heavily cratered half of a country to a democratic economic great power in less than 40 years. That is no small achievement.
