Nuke Nes IX: Genesis and Armageddon

Missing quite a few orders, preventing me from updating quite a bit of our world, keep in mind, this update is 200 years but still has the same order format

Masquere Orders:

Spoiler :

The Republic of Albast is to focus on rebuilding it's military and massively retrain, equip and modernize it's army to become the best army on the Italian peninsula (and Europe?? ;)). Once this has occurred a massive invasion south will occur employing thousands of troops to help expand the Republic and make it the dominant one on the Peninsula. Once the central Italian nations have been conquered/surrender we will ask the Kingdom of Rivayet to surrender or face what happened to their northern neighbor, they refuse? Attack them, burn their cities, kidnap their women and children, and sell them into slavery.
Massive temples will be built throughout the Republic aimed at their various Deities (gods and goddesses), trade galleys will also be sent to the various Eastern Mediterranean nations to encourage trade and make a healthy profit for the Republic, filling it's coffers with gold, and silver.

Orders sent.

I'll try to get all of my stuff up there in the next few days :)

Awesome :D If anyone has any wiki experience, please let me know, because I have no idea how to edit half the stuff I want XD

Sorry- i was away on vacation. I should be able to submit orders late tonight.

Briefly though-

1.

Rivayet continues to expand into the western Med. islands, iberia and tunisia to develop fishing, mining and trade enclaves, also spreading our faith among our people and expanding it westwards.

Cekmek expands inland to develop mining and herding and leatherworking and specializing more and more in the skills of our ancestors and the Scythe- horsemanship. Exposure to our neighbors mayybe make us more interested in stonework and fortifications also.

Guzel Kari develop better relations with the Ut and others, trading, etc. Expand into the northern agricultural coasts of Libya and develop more herding and agriculture there while mainting trade within our cultlure and with others.

2. generally continue to develop our various industries- each enclave/town specializing more and more and making trade between us veyr important as each town takes advantage of our economies of scale by specializing but that also makes us more reliant on domestic trade

3. Develop stoneworking and religion in parallel- making bigger and more impressive temples. with our sophistication and cohesion and our history of stonework, start developing aqueducts and potentially the "arch".

4. continue to develop a tradition of inquiry and scientific exploration and expand it to the philosophies and natural sciences. (continued from last turn) - try to make order from chaos- and master the celestial sphere by naming stars and planets and understanding their rotation- further developing our already excellent navigation skills.

5. use our very high cohesion to attempt to elevate a 'king of kings' from the three nations and unite the three nations as one confederacy so each land has its own under king, the king of kings rules all. We do have very high cohesion (5) and we have focused on bureaucracies pretty consistently so hopefully this will be possible.

6. continue our focus on a very strong navy, again making use of foreign marines to bulk our ranks.

In the face of Masquere offensive, take to the seas and defend from there. They may control the lands but we will control the seas and we will make hit and run counter-attacks using mercenaries.

In the anatolians, in the face of Terrance's aggression, make use of the rough terrain in the west and build heavy fortifications, force the battle into one of long attrition and make use of our acccess to the sea to resupply and import war-technology to defend ourselves (archers? naptha?)... while we are not aggressive, we do have other strengths (access to new ideas from liberty, cohesion, sophistication) to help defend ourselves.

On the high seas don't back down one inch. These seas were ours 1000s of years before them and our sailors and shipwrights are some of the best in the world.

Against all aggressors, make use of our great cohesion to pull our forces together into central command structure and if the enemy can be divided (low cohesion), then bribe some tribes against the others to help shift the balance in our favor.

Make friends with the enemies of our enemies, even minor tribes and support them to divide the enemy forces.

Culture Name: Tabansi
Core Value: Tradition
Location: Mali/Nigeria
Aggression:1
Expansion: 4
Cohesion: 3
Agriculture: 4
Sophistication: 3
Nation Names: Danasil, Sonasil, Banasil
City Names: Auyi-sit, Dani-sit, Soni-sit, Sano-sit, Bano-sit, Dari-sit, Katu-sit
Ruler Names: Auy-Gas, Dani-Buy, Son-Guy, Ban-tas, Kat-nas
Description: The Tabansi are a wide group of herders who recognize a single 'God King' among them in the ancient times. The God-King will uphold the rituals to balance the rain, the sun, and wind to secure their tenacious hold on the Sahel. They have over the generations recognized the futility of battle which only opens a crack for the desert to expand. Instead, they focus on their own piece within the puzzle and grow the best they can.
After two generations of prosperity, the small culture-group became large with bountiful harvests. Tribute flows into the granaries of the legendary God-King Auy-gas. He started the ancient tradition of mass migration: the granting of all the land a village can plow in one week at the edge of their former borders, and then placing the crowded interior villagers to the villages which migratory villagers eagerly left. This slowly beget the tradition of great expansion across the savanna.

OOC: Wiki-Sahel

They are near that river that drains into Nigeria, with its northern 'natural' borders at Sahel and the southern at the gulf of Guinea. (or whatever, I need to look that up)

OOC: Due to misuse and burning, much of this land is turning to desert. The land closer to the River or in the south can sustain a decent crop yield however the northern areas are almost useless for anything larger than family sustenance farms. With proper grazing/herding techniques (such as holistic management) the land can be restored from desertification. The largest issue is that the majority of people living there believe that burning the land at the end of the season will lead to better future yield but instead destroys the soil and leads to erosion.

OOC: Burning crops does fertilise the soil and thus lead to a better yield next year if it is plowed in properly. The long-term impact of soil erosion occurs throughout the developing world as cheap, effective and unsustainable farming methods are used over sustainable methods to try and meet the demands of rapidly growing populations. But the problems you describe are from the 20th and 21th centuries CE not the 10th century BCE. Cultivation of sorghum and African rice would perfectly possible in the right parts of the Sahel. The main problem would be the natural desertification that occurred around 4000 BCE not the man made problems of today.

My orders will be in very soon Nuclear Kid.

@Terrance, help would be great, particularly in creating those sidebars you see on the main Wiki for rulers and such :)

The 'Succeeded by/Preceded by' bar? Or the Dynasty List Bar? I'm not sure what you are talking about. I will work on transfering, then Wikifying Nannuk stuff first though.

Both of those haha, though I don't even know how to link a wiki page to another one

Almek Orders

Spoiler :
1. A schism will occur in Almek society. In more fertile areas, some tribes will become more sedentary and live either semi-nomadic or completely sedentary lives with permeant settlements. This will lead to a complex interdependency between the settled and nomadic tribes due to both trade and conflict.

2. Natural expansion will occur due to the Almeks' warlike nature, need for new pastures and natural expansion due to population growth. The Almeks will expand both east and west, though there will be an emphasis on westerly expansion. Constant internal and external conflict could well see the rise of prominent warlords amongst the nomadic tribes and the beginnings of a more complex state. The absorption of defeated and smaller tribes into larger, more successful tribes could lead to horde formation as well with all that implies. These will also centre around warlords. Finally the constant conflict could lead to refinements in Almekki military equipment with with the potential for improvements to the saddle, the invention of the bit and bridle as well as composite bows.

3. The Almeks will continue to develop their skill at working metals. Iron is likely to be discovered either by accident or design as tin is a scarce resource in Western and Central Asia and thus the drive to find a metal or an alloy with similar properties but a greater abundance will be high.

OOC: Sorry Nuclear Kid, I just lost my really detailed orders as Safari decided it didn't like me today. Above are the gist of my orders without any of the detail. I'll flesh them out again tomorrow if you haven't updated.

This is a little schizophrenic, but I feel I must quit this NES at this time. Its been fun and I hope to catch up later.
