Damn! Wounded Russian/Shaka sword beat my Skimmisher in the woods.

Now that i'v got some horses, revenge will be swift & deadly. :trouble:

How is the war against this AI in our midst going for U all?

Isn't it amazing how fast these AI civs build out cities? I thot they would be easy targets when we started this contest... not so far.

Have you taken any of his cities yet? Is he approaching you? I have managed to keep hold of the one city I took, but his spearmen are cutting my immortals to shreds if I venture further into his lands. My Axemen are heading to the front lines. But I need to cut off his source to copper and iron.

No; he easily pushed back my weak army of skimishers. But i attacked to relieve some pressure off U.
Now i'm building some chariots, axes, swords, & spears.
Altho, seems he doesn't have a source of horses?
Where is his copper/iron relative to my lands?

I'v got a HillII Skimisher landed SE of Shaka's territory & headed to find his source of copper/iron. With HillII plan to pillage his mine unless strongly defended.
>> Anyone... can U confirm Shaka does not have horses?

Thanks for intel... now i'v just got to find Moscow. :scan:

Hear! Here! :high5:

They seem to have quite a stream of units. They came at my Skirmisher HillII from 2 directions = had to redirect to the sea, for now.
Plus they keep sending a sword thru the tundra to threaten my camps. Ties down a couple of units to elim them. :splat:

A team of Axemen and an Immortal took out Shaka's Iron mine. It has also given us a peak inside Moscow. He has about 5 Swords and 2 Axes in there as well as one of each heading to my border.

I fear for our raiding party's safe return.

Good work! :goodjob: And good luck.
It's tuff to counter swords that start with CombatI or II thanks to his Aggressive trait & cheap barracks. :aargh:
I'm finally getting a small force together to harass/capture his NE city. Hope U can deny him iron for several turns?

My raiding party was left alone, so they took out the road as well. They have a Sword and axe just outside my city, but we should be able to fend them off fine.

On another note, we have founded Christianity! Anyone want to convert?

F__K! A Russian axe took out my 2xhill skirmisher on a hill above his city & then another axe hidden beyond the hill, took out my wounded sword he was "protecting".
2 battles & my wimps managed 1 hit!

Well, that slows the campaign down. :aargh:

To fill in this C'mas lull, been cranking a few PBEM game speed #'s.
Which is the fastest group of players, so far?

Calculated turns per day / days per turn thru C'mas for the 6 games I'm in.
Starting with oldest…
"18-but-not-Earth"= .29 / 3.5
"Tri Civ" = .18 / 5.4
"Octofish" = .35 / 2.8
"Redofish" = .2 / 5
"Instant Karma" = .61 / 1.6
"3rd Tribe" .96 / 1

Congratulations "3rd Tribers", fast starters are thee! :goodjob:
Stands to reason that newest games with simpler turns would fastest at this point.

However, congratulations "18-but-not-Earth", U R a surprising seriously quik group! :hatsoff: Especially considering the # of players involved.

"Redofish"… sadly slow. Mostly due to player replacements + admin'r (me) taking 2 week family trip. Let's pick it gents(!?).

[offtopic] Don't know where to share/post this, so i'll do it here with the Civ4 BTS'ers i know:
I've expanded/improved the "Leader/Civ" selector spreadsheet. More info on UU's & UB's + rearranged columns so that Leader Traits & Civ characteristics, UU, & UB are grouped together rather than mixed. (particularly helpful when putting together a spreadsheet for random civ+leader games)
Anyone know where one mite share this with entire community?
Plus, even tho y'all are my "competition" herein, i'd be happy share it upon request.
It is in MS Excel format.

Must be the season for Greatness, a least military greatness. I too got one! :goodjob:
With some good luck & some sacrifices, the Manly Mali have finally taken Yaroslav!
Intel note: Mighty :king: of Persia, there is a Russian archer in the open NW of the city. Perfect target for your Immortal. ;)
On to Novogrod! :hammer:

We are pleased to hear of your victories. The battle is still raging West of Moscow. It would seem that we are at a stand off, simply trading blow for blow and death for death. Now that another of his cities have fallen maybe his resolve and morale will be weakened.

We have a regiment of Axes and Archers heading to the front in order to replace our fallen brothers.

Ugh. Hang in if U can. There's a Nat Amer stack working its way N that incl's 2 elephants. They should take some pressure off, hopefully. :scan:

Looks like U took out that Russ archer. Nice work + some good exper points too. :goodjob:
