The Blood Runs Deep
Under the cover of dark night our gallies approached the outer borders of Ecbatana. A city that once was free under the glorious banner of the Persian empire. After landing in the forest South West of our bronze city that was currently occupied by Mongals, three squads of Immortals and one squad of Horse Archers awaited their orders.
After Adir came riding back to his company in the forest and disclosed that the city was being guarded by a group of Keshiks and Axemen he gave the order to attack. Although the Keshiks and Axemen were better armed and protected by the walls of the city, the were outnumbered two to one by Adir's Battalion of Immortals and Horse Archers.
The battle was long and bloody. By time the dust settled and the fires were put out there was not one Mongol left standing. It was a costly battle for the young Persian Officer. There were many casualties. He had lost two Squads of Immortals completely and the remaining Immortal Squad as well as his own Squad of Horse Archers were heavily wounded.
But Ecbatana, their city of bronze has been liberated. They immediately set the town people to work on Axes and Armour to train new units. In the meantime, Adir and his men are healing and word has been sent to the Capital of their success.
