And padma: I havent been able to access FFZ for at least a month now, it gives me a forbidden message. I can get to the title screen, but everything else gives me a file not found.

Suddenly all the world's battleships are doing a little dance of glee and exhaltation as they can again be appreciated at CFC for the psycological impact of 16 inch guns pounding the shores of the non-belivevers. Hopefully we can look forward to an oblique Gotterdamerung reference or two as well.

"I'm leaving" posts are always seen for what they are - hope rather than fact. Leaving CFC is caused by boredom, grand indignation or life intervening and nothing else. If you are banned in a spectacular manner or drift away with fewer and fewer posts it is much more believeable. I have thought about making such a post myself but know that it would be untrue.

There is nothing wrong with being an occasional intermitent poster.

Well a spectacular banning doesn't inherently lead to to a farewell post but it has been known to happen. It is one of the few possible causes of one if it is thought to be unfair (which it usually isn't). It is most common amongs't newer posters, the well addicted aren't as easily dissuaded.

Not to get into the past, but SB, sween, Killer M, and at least 3 others simply left and never came back, no goodbyes or anything, they vanished, end of the tale. SB may have posted rarely since then, but little else has changed. Yes I know they still post elsewhere, but that is inconsequental.

Except for Killer (who is still here under a different name) they didn't go away, they just went elsewhere where they now spam to their hearts content amongst the same people. Their addiction never went away it just moved to a different venue.
