It took us 3 days to get from the far end of Texas to Alabama. One day just for Texas. Eisenhower is a saint for building the interstates. Also, we're in Roanoke now, past halfway now.

I remember driving up to Toronto a few years back. You can't go in a straight shot. We had to stop a night in Buffalo to get there. My mom tells me sometimes about her 20 hour drives to Orlando when she was a kid. You didn't even have to wear a seatbelt back then.

I remember going on a car trip to San Francisco with my parents one summer (this was well before I could drive, about 10 years ago). Going from North Carolina to the West Coast by car takes the better part of a week, and that's if you're really pushing it. It took us (who were taking our sweet time) about 2 weeks. We had a lot of time on our hand back then.
