Official Civ4 S&T Off-Topic Thread

I have steam, too. Who knows what surname I have.

I feel like an idiot since DoC isn't working. I unzipped the .rar, dropped it into the MODS folder and loaded it in the advanced menu. But I have no scenario or civ choices. Can anyone help?

Steam nickname is "InsertWeirdNameHere"

Did you update to 3.19?

@Greek

There is a beyond the sword folder under Documents (or My Documents) with a a MODS folder (all caps indeed) that is there just to confuse you.

You need to put it on your installation folder (normally in C:/Program Files x86).

Also nice to see Noob giving explanations of how mods work. For one that had problems with that not long ago, you really paid attention to the process to explain it now, well done! :goodjob:

My gosh I freaking hate Windows 7 UI. Where can I find a bar to go directly to a specified file address?

If it is steam then it needs to go here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods

Not here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Mods

I hate how you have to click Beyond the Sword twice, it confused me so many times at first  Also, my name is CaterpillarKing and the avatar is the same :p

You mean the upper bar present in any Windows Explorer Box? If you click on it outside any of the written part, it becomes a normal adress. If you click on any of the written part you go to the folder you clicked on.

If you're hating Windows 7, be glad you don't have Windows 8, this pc I'm using now is Windows 8 and it sucks badly. It's a lot harder to live without the Startup Menu. The only advantage (aside from the obvious ones that come with more modern versions of OSs) that I saw on it is the Task Manager. It's a lot more detailed then on previous Windows, and that helps a lot.

Really? If it was already hard without it, Steam only confuses things even more. Another factor to decrease my overall opinion of Steam.

It's been very quiet here for the past few weeks.
