Official Civ4 S&T Off-Topic Thread

I have found a hilarious video that combines Japanese Anime and Italian Fascist Propaganda!

Don't ever rely on the search tool from windows, it sucks. It seems to really search things, but it actually can't see in many places of your computer.

It would be better if we could chat in real time to solve this, but here come some tips, and if you want we may chat through hamachi or skype, or this chat thing of S&T which I don't remember how to join.

- If you downloaded from steam, ask someone who knows about that because I don't. Steam messes up installation path;

- If you installed from CD (either the 3 or the Gold Edition), search for a folder under C (or if your default disk isn't C, go to your default disk, the one which has files within like Program Files, Windows, Users, etc.). The folder should be called "Program Files (x86)". The explanation to that is that programs which don't have a 64-bit version are usually installed on the x86 version of the Program Files folder, while those that have the 64-bit version are usually installed on the normal Program Files folder.

- Inside this file, CIV may be in a folder called Firaxis, or 2KGames, or maybe another name of a company that is responsible for its development. There you'll find your Civilization folder and then inside of it you must go into Beyond the Sword and then Mods (it won't be all caps I suppose).

- As an example, my Mods folder is: C:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods\

- You may always go to the search and try to find "Program Files (x86)", it probably has more chances of finding then the Mods folder. From there the path is easy.

- If none of this helps, let's have a chat in real time to solve this if you want, we may decide how to do that here.

I hope you can solve this issue.

If it's Steam, then I have no idea how to help you. Clanky4 posted that it should be under a folder called Steam, which supposedly is on your Program Files folder.

If it is steam then it needs to go here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods

Not here:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Mods

If it isn't on this adress, I recommend finding the Steam folder, either by searching not only Program Files but also Program Files (x86), or using the Search tool of windows. If even so you can't find it, then I really don't know where it might be.

Found it! Manuss got on Steam Chat with me and helped me out. It's working now!
Thanks Spirictum, clanky Noob and CK for helping.

BTW, mrrandomplayer doesn't update the S&T section of the forum Index in the DoC forum since October/2014.

This isn't good to us here, as more then 50% of our activity is on DoC stories.

If you don't have the time or will to do that mrrandom, I would suggest you pass this role to someone else so we can have the post updated.

I suggest Caterpillar to do that if you don't want to keep doing it. As you noticed on the post I'm talking about, it seems he has twice the time available of everyone else here added together (with the exception of Noob, his fiercest competitor), so he'll probably do well on this new task. Of course he has to want that too, it's just my suggestion.

Me do what now?

Or as my dad likes to say "You've just been voluntold"

I made a table that has 21 different stories I consider part of 2015 so that it's easy to keep track of them all. I will obviously add new stories as we go.
