It happened a long time ago. I love crash course and Markiplier is my absolute favorite person I don't actually know. He's my man-crush. I stopped watching Pewdiepie simply because I got tired of his material, but I stay subbed to him. My youtube account is just because of my google+ account. Do you watch them?
There are some interesting things that arrived to me about pewdiepie, but I simply can't stand watching his videos without becoming really annoyed by the way he acts/talks/expresses. He is too annoying for me, so I could never see an entire video.

I don't watch Pewdiepie and Markiplier. But i recently started watching crash course and i learned a lot more about Americas history. i never thought that the north would be filled with moralistic, rich, elite anti slavery people while the south was the opposite.

That would be pre-civil rights America. Now racism, while still prevalent in the South, is much weaker and spread out. I have even seen someone in Pennsylvania sporting a rebel flag. Also, around the time of the Civil War, people now look back and see the North as this moralistic pro-black heaven, but that simply isn't true. There were TONS of race riots throughout the years, and discrimination. In cities like Chicago there was segregation for awhile. Also, a lot of blacks weren't allowed to vote, although they should have been, in the North until the 15th amendment, so they didn't look like hypocrites. While the South was massively racist, people think that masters beat the slaves bloody. The problem with that thought is that the plantation owners a) wouldn't do it, they would have a white or sometimes black taskmaster do it and b) they wouldn't want to ruin their merchandise. What is seen as probably the worst part of slavery, and is the subject of Uncle Tom's Cabin, is that you could be split from you family and sold to a far away place in an instant, never to see them again. Anyways, the common saying from that era is "Southerners hated the race but liked the individuals and the Northerners liked the race but hated the individuals". While the North was much more liberal about it, don't forget they were still very racist, especially the Irish, because they had to compete directly with blacks for the low level jobs.
I'll throw my hat into the Pewdiepie ring. Honestly, I don't want to sound like one of those people that yearn for the "old days" but I used to really like him. Then he became much more screechy and... eh.

I used to like Pewdiepie, but then I realized how much I disliked him and his content, and stopped watching him. Never looked back.

i actually never really have been a pewdiepie fan, though he can occasionally make me chuckle
markiplier though, man that voice is friggin majectic, if that voice materialized into a a physical object, i would fight to the death to obtain its glory
