Tonberry, your Habs played superbly, and my Flames beat those poor pathetic souls from Vancouver, so all-in-all it was a good day to be Canadian.

Scores Thu. 4/15

Montreal - Boston 5-1
(Boston leads 3-2)

Nashville - Detroit 1-4
(Detroit leads 3-2)

St. Louis - San Jose 1-3
(San Jose wins 4-1)

Calgary - Vancouver 2-1
(Calgary leads 3-2)

Well, San Jose is the first team to advance to round 2. Calgary won game 5. :) And Kipper was solid. :goodjob:
 Montreal really beat Boston in game 5.

Boston -> :spank: <- Montreal

Is it EVER a good day to be Canadian? :p I dunno... I still think that play by Kovalev deserves a 1st round exit but oh well.

How come some people have 3 points?

2 points: correctly picking the team that wins the series.
1 point: correctly picking the number of the games.

What a snoozer...

well the Leafs played a very strong defensive game without Sundin.

Come on boys.... Sens in 7.

NOTE: The rules are in post # 14, in case anyone's interested.

Toronto always wins with out Sundin, look at the last time the Leafs beat the Sens.....

Also Owen Nolan skated and took shots this morning, hes getting evulated tommorrow, if the Leafs go for theres a chance he'll come back.

I almost hope that Nolan comes back Sunday, I think the Sens have a better shot at it with him in the line-up.

Here's to hoping game 6 is at least more entertaining than this one.

Go Sens!

Nolan wont be back until late second round at the earliest.

Game Six can be exactly the same entermainent wise, but if its the same result noone in TO is gonna care.

I'm hoping Vancouver can pull out game six. This is what Vancouver needs to do to win

-bench Geoff Sanderson.. he's too small to be effective offensively, and he looks like a chicken with its head cut off in the defensive zone.
-play Linden on wing with the Sedins. they played incredible last game.
-play Auld. Hedberg's risks are gonna cost us - the flames forecheck well.

Lines:

Naslund - Morrison - Cooke
Sedin - Sedin - Linden
Bouck - Kesler - Rucinsky
Ruutu - Chubarov - Keane

Malik - Jovanovski
Ohlund - Sopel
Allen - Salo

Auld

Since it's in Calgary, start out the game with a slow trapping play. Take the crowd out of it, control the pace of the game, and then apply pressure and hope we score the first one.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you actually play hockey (on ice that is, road and roller don't count!) ?
I played mites and one year of squirts, mostly as goalie. I grew up in a small town in upstate New York that had one of the best youth hockey programs in the state. Because of that combined with the fact that I was bad at sports (other than pitching in baseball and skiing) and our ice time was at 6 in the morning at the town arena I never progressed further. I don't play at all now and haven't for over decade.

Though our high school had an enrollment of less than 400 we won two NY high school state championships when I was in junior high. I couldn't hang with those guys or the ones who came after, they were a lot better than me. A few of them played in the AHL, one of them played for the Leafs for a few weeks - he was later a substitute science teacher in town; I can't remember his name, those brain cells have long since been killed.

Scores Fri. 4/16

Ottawa - Toronto 0-2
(Toronto leads 3-2)

NY. Islanders - Tampa Bay 2-3 OT
(Tampa Bay wins 4-1)

My first correct prediction both number of games and the series winner. :goodjob:

Never fear pboily, this one's still going seven.

BTW, I caught you on TFO the other day. My french isn't what it used to be, but I thought you did rather well, except for that ugly shirt you were wearing.

Though next time you may want to comb your hair before appearing on television. ;)

My hair was combed. You should have seen what it looked like before the make-up girl got to me.

Scores Sat. 4/17

New Jersey - Philadelphia 1-3 :goodjob:
(Philly wins 4-1)

Dallas - Colorado 1-5
(Colorado wins 4-1)

Detroit - Nashville 2-0
(Detroit wins 4-2)

Boston - Montreal 2-5
(Series tied 3-3)

Vancouver - Calgary 5-4 3OT
(Series tied 3-3)

[dance] Jippii!! Flyers won the series. :goodjob: Goodbye Devils. :D
Colorado and Detroit also advance to second round.

if Calgary wins, it's Detroit-Calgary and San Jose-Colorado
if Vancouver wins, it's Detroit-Colorado and San Jose-Vancouver

No, if Vancouver wins(and they wouln't) then it goes to game seven.
