Where's my pie?
Very windy and rainy at the moment. It says it's 61F outside but it feels much colder than that.
Yesterday's windchills (in Fahrenheit) forecast for noontime:

Where in the hell do you put 14 feet of snow so that you can live around there?
Here's a link to some pics and videos when Redield set the record last month for the largest 48hr snow total:

I was here for the flooding last year, oh I remember all right. I insisted my wife take the other car for work today because the low rolling resistance tires on the EV make it a venerable death trap in the rain (which I also found out last year).Wait until you see the standard southern California drainage systems in action. You are in for a treat. The system of storm drains is incredibly extensive. Being new here you may have mistaken them for roads.
Oh my! Here's hoping the cod didn't freeze as well.Cape Cod is frozen too.
We lived outside Chapel Hill for 20 years and never had such freezing weather. Brrrrrr. i don't remember our pond ever freezing enough to walk on.The pond near my Chapel Hill, NC neighborhood froze over this week. I walked out on the shallow part and it held my weight, but I didn't want to go out in the middle where I could possibly fall in and drown/die of hypothermia. One guy was even riding his bike on the pond. It was weird seeing rocks and debris on the lake. I threw the rock in the picture at the ice (from shore), and it didn't crack at all. It seemed like the ice was 3 or 4" (8-10 cm) thick. Being at only 36° north, I had never walked on a pond in my hometown, as typically the most ice they'll get is a thin layer you can't walk on. In fact it hasn't gotten above freezing since New Years Eve. This is the first time since 1917 that we've had a whole week below freezing! Also my yard is still 75% covered with the inch of snow I got Wednesday night. Usually an inch of snow will all melt within a day or two.
