Oh, the weather outside is...

It is 91 degrees right now, and was about 96 earlier. This was the 86th day this year of temperatures over 90 Fahrenheit. Before this year the record was 37 days.

It snowed here today. It's -7C tonight. More snow is expected tomorrow.

This is just the first snow. It won't stay, but it's definitely notice that fall is here and we're heading for an early winter.

I must say that this summer was not that bad. There were no days when forest fire smoke came wafting across the mountains and making it hard to breathe.

Yesterday was the last nice-weather day I'm going to have for a couple of weeks. Looks like I'll have to close the windows again as the temps climb back into the 80's.

It's getting windy here in Galway.
What was hurricane Lorenzo is coming this evening. It shouldn't be too stormy but as the trees are still in full leaf and the ground is saturated it could bring down trees and cause damage.

Am going to head home from work a bit early to avoid as much as possible.

First snow of the season at White Face:

Here in Syracuse its been an absolutely miserable +7C and raining. Blah....

Midnight. There's a very distant lightning storm over Mindanao and the Mindanao Sea. It's too far away for me to hear thunder, but my entire southern sky is repeatedly lighting up with flashes. It looks like a hellish scene out of "War of the Worlds." :)

Edit: Now 01:00. A gentle rain has arrived. Lightning has lessened. Still no thunder.

Edit: 01:50: The thunder has arrived. :eekdance: Rain is getting harder.

I assume that you mean New York state and not Sicily? My part of the UK gets to look forward to more than a week of rain too. Jolly good show!

My assumption too.

It rained all morning today. No sun until after lunch. 0.65 inches in our yard. :)

Balloon fiesta starts tomorrow. 600 balloons will go up if there is no wind in the morning.

Yes Syracuse New York - is it customary here to denote new world cities like that to differentiate?

Temps supposed to get up to around 15C today with relatively clear skies so I was gonna try and sneak in one more camping trip, but the look the wife gave me indicated the forecast for that isn't looking so good....

Well, given the amount of cheesy 80s and 90s TV I've seen with utterly prosaic captions such as "Paris, France", or "London, England", I'd have thought that a little bit of equal time would be appropriate.

More seriously, I didn't actually expect you to be in Italy, but you did list a temperature in Celsius about a probable US location, so I thought I'd ask.

14:20 - We usually get our thunderstorms at night, but it's afternoon and we got a big 'un up in the mountains. :run:

Edit: Ah! I see Supertyphoon Hagibis is over there somewhere, flinging off moisture in this direction.

We may get our first freeze tonight. We'll see it it gets cold enough to force our Mulberry trees to drop their leaves.

I'm looking out of my office window, and I can see plenty of blue sky, and a nice bright evening sun.....and it's absolutely hammering it down.
