Oh, the weather outside is...

Sunny with highs in the mid 90s all week; lows in the mid 60s at night.

Learn to love the heat. It is in your future. :D

I got myself an airco last year.
This year only used a couple of weeks ago.

So yeah... I try to learn... to embrace it.

though I do get more and more that longing for ice and snow

Bloody bull is what it is.

Says it's going to rain, thunderstorms. I go out there in full kit, blazing heat - then it's sunny. Not even cloudy by the end of the day.

And it KEEPS HAPPENING. There's some drizzle at like 8 am and then just clouds and I'm out there lookin' the fool.

09:10 p.m. Oh nos winds. Sudden onset, lightning, heavy rain. :run:

Edit: 24 hrs later...another oh noes wind. :scared:

There was a bad windstorm around here on Tuesday. It brought down a bunch of trees and knocked out power all over the area. Some folks have been without power for days and it probably will be a week before it is completely restored.

More importantly... because of the downed power lines my internet service at home has been out for two days! :aargh::gripe:That means, no NETFLX, no YouTube, no STEAM, no Disney+, and no cable TV  Oh the Humanity!

First world problems :mischief:...

We had thunderstorms the past few days and got .9" of rain. almost an inch. The rainy season is here!

あすも広範囲で猛烈な暑さ 40度に迫る所も 熱中症警戒
Tomorrow also violently hot in many areas, some approaching 40°C, heatstroke alert issued

Guess I'll be staying in until sundown tomorrow too. :undecide:

Hang in there. I never knew Japan gets that hot, I always thought it's more temperate, similar to France and southern UK.

The southern UK has been getting above 35 degrees in the last week too (and it's bloody miserable). Think the peak was 37-38. So, you weren't that wrong...

Remember when I was whining about no rain  flushing only after #2, bathing in a bucket? No more. :shake:
I think it was a 1950's story by Ray Bradbury which was set on Venus, where it never stopped raining. So now it's like that. :ack:

Was that the short story where there was only ten minutes of sunlight every seven years or so?

Definitely not the same one I read, then.

There must have been two stories. One about the sun coming out every seven years: All summer in a day. I don't know the name of the other.

Sorry about your rain Z. We could use some it though.

Thanks for that, Bird! It was indeed All Summer in A Day, though I think that Zribbler is referring to The Long Rain.

I don't think so. All I remember is that at the end
Spoiler spoiler :
the main character is so sick of the rain that he looks up at the sky, opens up his mouth, and drowns himself.
This reminds me of that Al Pacino movie where he was a cop who relocates to Alaska and is driven insane by the endless twilight, which makes it impossible for him to sleep. I think it was called Insomnia.
