A government building housing the prime ministers office is wrecked. 8 persons wounded so far.

Huge explosion in the middle of the government area actually. Prime Minister is in safety. And yes, only 8 people wounded AFAIK.

Strange, there's no crater or car parts... and the debris is radiating outwards... so the bomb was in the building I suppose.

The blast could have destroyed the vehicle and some of the windows appear to be blown inward. That looks like a very large heliport on the roof. Is that a government building or a hospital?

Right in the heart of the government quarter. As if someone let of a huge car bomb around 1600 Pennsylvania avenue more or less.

No deaths so far, but looks pretty bad.

If no deaths have been reported so far I think we are in the clear, unless someone got seriously wounded. There's enough media businesses in the same area that everything can quickly be recorded.

Probably domestically raised, at least.

But there isn't any kind of Norwegian extremist group able or willing to do anything like this, and they're pretty well controlled by the Secret Police (PST).

For that matter, the few potential Muslim extremists we have also have the PST watching them... Some people might get fired for this.

Also note that in less than three months we have our Local Elections (Municipalities and local governments). Would have been more noteworthy if it was parliamentary elections, but still. All the same parties are up for elections anyway.

My thoughts exactly.

Several Danish targets got very close to getting hit by extreme terrorists, but luckily they were prevented in the last moment. Including the paper that originally printed the Muhammed drawings and the actual person who did the drawings.

Still no casualties reported? Phew, that's a good thing.

As far as I can remember, they were a bit cowardly and didn't print any.

But I think they're only collateral. Tons of government buildings and many different departments are hit! Department of Education, Department of Oil and Energy, Department of Finance, Department of Justice, etc. This is an attack on the state of Norway.

Also, at least one person is now confirmed dead.

The good thing is that we're in the general holiday season, so a lot of people have probably been on vacation.

So sad to see Oslo and our brothers and sisters in the North included on the list of cities hit by international terrorism, if this is the case. Is terrorism what the Norwegian media are speculating at the moment?
