On Duterte

Today a couple of fifteen year old boys were walking down the street and stopped me to ask if I had any weed they could buy.

Duterte is a murderer, well okay. So are pushers, Duterte is just faster about it. Justice, hah! Justice is all about protecting the guilty for money. Bible calls it a dirty rag. People largely suck. Not all, I've found a few whom I would not say they are good but I'd say, 'Bob doesn't suck', or whoever. Sure, shooting pushers in the streets sucks. Here, its what passes for justice. You say there is no justice on this Earth, well okay. We do our best for sucking so bad..

A Lot of third world countries have extra juridical killings by law enforcement.
All I will say is that you may like Dutertes anti drug policy to try and fight drug problem, but everything else that is happening is disastrous, from attacking US allies, switching to appeasing the Chinese, Corruption stinks including increasing the presidental budget by 1000% including huge amount of tax payer money for entertainment. Phillipines is going to pay a heavy price for electing him to attack the drug problem and it will only be temporary success. Like Thailand because its not addressing the real cause of the drug epidemic

If those criminals are pushing drugs to kids etc, sure, got no problem with that. Killing such people for pushing drugs should not be equated for killing them for political reasons.

In favour of vigilante justice. Noted.

By the way, you didn't respond to Duterte's methods being the epitome of corruption. You did mention Duterte considering Marcos 'a hero'. Now why would that be?

Okay, okay, you convinced me. Still, even if Duterte isn't what I hoped he was, it would be nice to live in a drug free country, for the sake of the kids. I'd forgive a lot for that. If what he says is accurate and he has cancer, then I'd guess he won't finish out his term. You guys, the drug dealers, the international community, but not most of the Filipino people will much prefer the VP.

While you guys focus on the bad, the guy comes from a place other than the "five families" which generally run the country in turn. He has given land from those to the farmers, started infrastructure projects that will bring water to a lot more land... Helps the little guys, the ones he doesn't shoot, at the expense of the wheels. Not all bad at all.

Meth has been taken out of the society. My kids can go to school safely. People say they never heard of drugs being dealt in school, just go to the local police station and ask them. Likely they've heard of it. My kids are as innocent as they come, and things are happening which will make their lives safer.

Heroine, Crack, Cocaine, Opium, Ecstasy, Ketamine, PCP, DXM, Synthetic Weed, the list goes on infinitely. All these things might destroy your children's lifes. But of course, after every single meth junkie and dealer has been killed, all the problems are going to end, right? Nothing else that could possibly happen, no? Meth prices going up will actually make these drugs, some of them like Heroine, Crack, Opium and PCP are arguably more dangerous, much more popular. But clearly it's not a drug-ridden society that's the problem, it's the suppliers  Anyway, you're so far deluded that you willingly support a mass murderer who compares himself to Adolf Hitler, so all efforts are lost on you.

From wiki:
Inhalants are commonly used among minors, especially street children.[14] Street children in the Philippines are most likely to be inhalant abusers.[17]

But glue is much better than meth, right? Anyway, I trust Duterte to crack down really hard on these children. Just step on his motorbike and mow 'em down with his AK47, like the hero he is.

Shooting drug dealers, that covers all of the above methinks.

Shooting drug dealers somehow helps children huffing glue? Elaborate. Do you think glue is illegal? The same goes for synthetic weed. It's never illegal because whenever it's prohibited they slightly alter the formula.

What if children are dealing crack or opium? Shoot them, too? Where do you arbitrarily draw the line? Is it okay to shoot a fifteen year old, thirteen year old, eleven year old kid dealing drugs? You have been dodging this argument the entire thread because you know you have no way to address it.

That a fact? Learn something new every day. I think Perfection that maybe the Philippine people decided to fight fire with fire because while he is no drug dealing scum, he is a tough guy.

I'm sure calling the president of the US a son-of-a-*** is very tough And the Philippine people didn't decide anything.

And I note you haven't much to say about the points being made here. To you it must all be a big joke.

He's a maniac.

Even if you could say his violent policy works in the long run (which is questionable) full legalization also has been shown to work & without the mass carnage.

Murdering people without trial isn't civilized. The UN should go in there & stop it.

On one hand, he didn't appear out of vacuum - the situation around drugs probably is That bad in the Philippines. On the other hand, for any sane observer, this is way beyond any acceptable way of action in our modern times. And given his long tongue, I say he will eventually be pressed to adjust the methods or leave the chair he currently occupies by forces both foreign and domestic. I suspect US will be most interested in engaging him politically & economically especially in light of ongoing controversy a tad west of Philippines.

How about booze and tobacco (or all those painkillers)... Have you ever given anyone a beer or cigarette? I have... Jesus gave a bunch of drunk people more wine and one of his disciples was a doctor... Christians drink wine as if it was the blood of Jesus! I'd love to know what some of these prophets were high on when having their 'visions'. Jesus had his episode with Satan in the desert during a 40 day fast, and fasting was often part of a ritual designed to have visions or 'insights'.

What caused Paul's atonement? A 'vision' only he had... Maybe he ingested something that caused his vision, something that made him reflect on his evil ways, something that made him confront his inner demons. Drugs are part of religion, including stimulants. They are among the bag of tricks people employ to obtain enlightenment. I'd bet this guy running your country would have been trying to kill Jesus and his buddies had he lived back then.

"For the sake of the kids"... Who was trying to sell meth to your children when drugs were legal? When I was in school the only drugs being sold were illegal for everyone to sell, including adults. Why is that? Why weren't drugs legal for adults all over my campus? Because dealers could sell to adults legally with protection from the state, they didn't need to risk violating a law against selling to minors. Hell, it was legal in this country for minors to walk into a store and buy all sorts of powerful drugs. We didn't need no stinking drug war.

In the entire history of the world was there ever a drug free country? Hallucinations are free, just fast long enough and you'll get 'em. If I supported a murderer I dont think forgiving him would be left to me. I think I'd be stuck standing next to the murderer on judgement day as our victims testify against us. I have my sins and my victims, I dont need mass murder on the list.

You guys can certainly go on as long as you wish, you are in a huff so I understand. However, I am convinced, just so you know.

Convinced about?

Convinced about?

Nobody has ever been convinced by anyone of anything in this forum, until now. Might take some getting used to. My advise? No? Well I'll give it anyway. Go to the fridge, get a beer, out onto the back porch, rockin chair. Rock. Consume. Scratch ass. Stare at stars. Is that a shooting star? Yes. Make a wish. Wish you could wrap your brain around this new event on CFC. Come to terms.

Quite difficult to be convined of the other side when you quite literally ignore every single post that you don't have an easy answer to :)
