Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

All this talk of a 'Nuclear Age' mystifies Caesar and the Senate. However, one crazy old fool at the forum proclaims to all who will listen that Thebes may be in range from a Siamese city near the Grand Mesa--if not for a direct hit, certainly the blast radius. (Is the advanced missile's range 10, or 12? If 12, it could be hit directly.)

These events seem so far in the future, it's unclear why Egyptian anxiety would extend so far into the realm of fantasy. One thing which is clear, however, is that Pharaoh believes in the doctrine of the preemptive strike, which, combined with these visions of hell, is worrisome indeed.

We have seen no aggression between our peoples. We have no desire to send our armies to be wiped out by your technically superior units, from behind your rivers, and walls, and mountains. We are happy with our trade agreements.

Why then, do your paranoid fantasies extend to obliterating glorious Rome, which has only been a friend to you?

Minor reports: A recently captured Songhai worker in Tyre? Hello to both groups of Russian tourists, currently enjoying Vercingetorix's behind the front lines military tour! And we hope the Aztecs were not too attached to their wine...... :mwaha:

Sounds like too far distant future, yeah, just an old worrying pharaoh telling his concern in the second half of the game.

Egyptians are still Roman friend for sure. We can negotiate when we get to nuclear age.

I somehow don't think all the civilizations in this game will survive until the nuclear age.

Pharaoh cautiously observes the Songhai's brutal conquest of CS. While it is tolerated this time, Pharaoh draws a line at Warsaw that any aggression there will be an act of war towards Egypt Empire. Songhai leader knows Pharaoh is currently not possessed by the warmonger heart, but his mood can easily turn if provoked.

There are currently 2 city states that are in a permanent war with the Songhai - Warsaw and Tyre. We Songhai yearn for world peace and will bring that about. If the Egyptians feel that peace is not in their best interest, then let the world know that this will be not once, but twice that the Egyptians have unilaterally declared war on the Songhai over perceived slights.

We see that the Egyptians have become much more belligerent now that they have a technology lead and a military lead. If this is the way they behave now, who is to know what happens when they get an even greater edge. We Songhai will not be bullied or coerced by the Egyptians.

CS permanent war is the result of past aggression by Songhai brutality. We care less about Tyre, but Warsaw is the foot step towards Egypt Empire. We will mobilize once we see the health bar of Warsaw is dropping. Otherwise Songhai can freely follow the path of Aztec. Pharaoh is wondering what Siamese leader thinks about recent Songhai aggression and move towards their empire.

The campaign to liberate our city has begun. To War!!

I'm going to pay for my mistake, Monty saw too big for his taste(dunno if it's well sayed), he should had taken Russian's capital when he had the chance. No, he wanted both China and russians! And now a wandering knight is too close from my sugar! Dropping under -9 happiness will be deadly for me.

Great team work guys. The end of Monty is near...poor Monty!!!

Alas, with only two horse and no iron the Chinese are not in a position to exact revenge for past wrongs. Unless... a greater world power would be interested in aiding us with a little conquest. We shall dispatch our ambassadors.

Having recently acquired 6 iron and 12 horses, the Songhai are in a position to supply our longtime good friends and neighbors, the Chinese Russians with critically needed strategic resources, for an equitable sum of gold or perhaps a spare luxury resource.

We Songhai remain neutral as to the rumors of massive wars in the east, as our eyes turn towards Warsaw and the Egyptian threat in the west, so we will turn a blind eye to the use of these resources towards military purposes. We fully believe horses and iron have civilian application such as petting zoos, ranches, and colorful iron trinkets and jewelry.

As soon as you lose a city or two then your -9 happiness will be gone

Remember to hop into the Fall of Rome game before you die in Speed! (The Songhai would assist, but the Egyptians are breathing down our necks so our forces need to stay near our new home of Warsaw for protection).

Pharaoh is getting old, he double checked the CSs on the map, both Warsaw and Tyre are close to Egypt Empire, now he must also declare protection of Tyre.

Why Songhai leader insist expanding towards Egypt Empire while you have got five cities, 2 CSs allied? Egypt has no intention to have conflict with the Songhai, but Songhai's annihilation of either Warsaw and Tyre has too obvious intention of advancing into Egypt territory. Just like Aztec's annihilation of Dublin, next action has been towards Roman. Hope Songhai leader does not make the same mistake.

We Egyptians live in a small circle and rely on these CSs to keep distant from the major powers. We only seek to observe the sky on top of the mountains, we have no intention to attack anyone else.

 Yes, Songhai were going to help by taking Tenochtitlan!

That knight was not wandering--he's the main agent in Operation Sweet Tooth, and his objective has been achieved! Unfortunately, the happiness change doesn't kick in immediately, but our eager troops are slowed by the Great Wall anyway.

Yes, you bit off more than you could chew, or had eyes too big for your stomach. :p
Fighting a war on two fronts against two Russias was gutsy and you seemed to do fine; then provoking Rome on top of that was foolhardy. :goodjob:

Caesar will restore balance to the Eastern world. Tlateloco will be taken as punishment and reparations for the burning of the Sino-Russian city; we will offer it to the Chinese Russians if they wish to administer it and its wines, and two iron supplies.

We wish our Eastern Russian allies luck in retaking their dye city. May the revolting Aztec troops fall like wheat before your scythes!

Once the balance has been restored, we shall leave you to your fate, to whatever peace the Aztec Kingdom may negotiate between itself and the two Russias, to live out your days behind the Great Wall as you see fit. :king:

By the way, Aztec has the highest happiness ranking in the world, so I guess that Sugar tile might be a trap!

Songhai can look Eastwards, Egypt guarantees no war against Songhai people if you can spare Warsaw and Tyre.

This would be a huge surprise--they were at 33% before we cut their sugar! Has their Eastern city already fallen? Or perhaps this is another error of Old Pharoah...

Maybe the stats update at the end of the round.

I dont think this is right? The Russians have been the happiest for most of the game. Our control of the Dye market has lead to nice trade oppurtunities. If we can retake our city the dyes will be shipped to China-Russia as thanks for their aid in the earlier war.

My demographics are pretty bad in most of my games but I do keep my civs happy.:c5happy:

I think Pharoah might have seen them as worst.
