repeatable CTD in the save i've attached.
i tried deleting each AI one by one (including the barbs) and also deleted all of my own cities to see if I could pinpoint the cause.
no luck, unfortunately.

THX for the fix. Unfortunately the map ist to big for my graphic card so I get memory failure after a few rounds, so i stopped playing it. Funny thing is, i started an other map without the mechanos and played as elf and now the scions are forcing the same bug i think. So could you please please make a quick fix for that problem too? And can you explain to me why the city turns to a population of 0 the first time i'm trying to delete it? I'm just curious.

Idea: You said the Adept caused the CtD with the mechanos. What about the Settler with the scion? Its a basic Unit they don't have?

So I may assume it works? Please people, let me know if my fix works (this one or any future ones, assuming there is any future ;) ) - that will allow me to work on other things :(

Well, I need explanations here too.
I would love to make that fix - but no idea what is the cause of the crash, save that it is something related to scion AI. If anyone comes with an idea, I would love to fix it right away.

Actually it is the reason patch O is not out yet - I really want to fix the Scion crash too.
 
I've got the quickfix installed and Daniel090's save downloaded. I'll load it up and see what happens. I'll report back shortly.

Update: Ran the save from turn 513 to 520 perfectly. No crashes or errors. Was there anything else in particular I should check out? That was one gigantic map he was playing on.
 
Ok, I think I have found the reason.
Some units (unique disciples, priests & high priests) unitclass had default unit set to none. It applied to both mechanos adepts and scion doomsayers. Once I changed that, all seems to be working fine.
Guess I should avoid fancy stuff and just allow techpriests to be displayed as replacing luonnotars in the future. A lesson to remember :crazyeye:

Some extra tests and I am going to work on releasing patch O.

Oh, and thaks for help Dzhel. One save less to check, and some hope that I am not the only one looking for the cause of that crash - it really helped. :)
 
The patch 24 O is ready. You can get it here

I hope it will be much more stable in CtD departamanet than version 24 N. Also, a lot of bugs was fixed and some rebalancing done. I will never say that it is the last patch before 0.30, but it seems like a stable base I wanted to prepare for a long time :)

So, enjoy and be patient. I am working on 0.30 as fast as I can, but RL requires my time too, unfortunatelly...

Glad you could get some new insight into the CTD's. I usually play small random and looking back, rarely had games with mechs & scions so I never ran into that problem.

I have put the wrong CvGameCoreDLL.dll in patch O installer. :(
Some changes do not work, not sure if it is anything serious.

Anyway, I have prepared patch P. It is O with proper CvGameCoreDLL.dll and source files. Some people already downloaded patch O, so to avoid confusion I have changed the letter. Unfortunatelly, it seems to be breaking saves. Sorry :cry:

Uploading now, should be avaliable soon.

Hi

When i open the worldbuilder some cities of the other civs have black production lines like they are building nothing. Is this normal? I'm asking because i now get CtDs even after deleting mechanos and scions. When deleting all Khazad cities I can go on. Its all so confusing.

Anyway I'll try a new game with the patch. THX for the quick work.

I'll be sure to have Scions & Mechs in my next game to help see if the fixes are in good shape. Unfortunately, I won't be able to start the game until tomorrow since I have to work late but I'm definitely looking forward to being snowed in, sipping on some coffee, relaxing with some Orbis.

By the way, I did play as scions for one game until about turn 350 with patch O with no problems at all.

As for Daniel090, I was using the world builder alot in my patch O game and didn't have any issues but my game was a new one. I agree that you should start a new game & check it out.
 
The Save did work some more turns but then crashed bigtime. but i will try some runns on this P Version instead and i hope it will be as wonderfull, but bugfree :D

A couple of quick things from patch N

Probably base FfH AI changes, not only do Barb Cities not build buildings anymore but they do not build Workers either; which rather restricts their growth. What is even more strange is that if you give a Barb City a Worker in WB the game deletes the Worker during its next turn?

Mechanos, is it intended that Mechanos have no low level way to remove Hell Terrain? The only way seems to be to Capture a city with FoL, build a Grove in it and produce Druids. Techpriests Vitalize only works on Haunted Hell Terrain, not basic Hell Terrain. Either way is a lot more expensive & later than other Civ's Adept with Life I.

I had the Scions CTD too, though it did mean that AI Luchiurp had their best game ever with all the extra land to expand into after Turn 187 :)
 
There is no way to say anything with no info on what is happening in game.
Anyway, OOS is a problem I have yet to fix - there are several identified factors, but I wanted to fix CtD and other things first

We have the Problems with the new Patch,too.

We didn't known what the reason is but i have load up our MP Savegame, perhaps they can found the error?

Well, I can't run MP other than hot seat right now. That is why I just started a thread for OOS debugging. Please check it, I really want to provide fixes but I need your help. :)

I tried your save (unfortunatelly, on one computer), but it does not even load for me. Are you sure you use patch P?
 
On turn 450 so far as the Scions with the Mechanos in game also and haven't had any crashes. Playing single player though. I'll let you know if I can finish the game without any crashes.
 
That would be from the Ring of Carcer... Improvement may have been destroyed somehow.
right i figured that, wonder what could of happened to it though? also, i think i've seen the issue reported in the past, just wanted to bring it to the devs attention.

two minor fawn related bugs
1) i don't see a discription of the ability "mesmerize animal" anywhere in the documentation, other than it's gained at level 4.
2) "satyr" is listed as a fawn ability rather then upgrade option in the 'pedia

Yes i am sure, but we play it on german, perhaps it is the reason?
 
~i'm able to cast bloom on mines and my non-elf workers can build mines on forested tiles without chopping. i have adopted FoL, maybe this is a feature?

~casting "peace" with seven pines did not halve the armageddon count, it did lower it from around 26 to 22 however.
