Wars of Warcraft: Month 2
WAR ERUPTS BETWEEN THE ELVES AND AMANI TROLLS. The ancient war between trolls and elves has begun once more, as the troll armies depart to raid the human lands to the south. The Amani Tribe has faced an immediate invasion of their realm, as the main elven army has invaded to drive them off their land once more. The elves hoped to establish their initial holdings by seizing the troll lumber mill near the border as the first foothold in the territory of the Amani. The trolls obliged them by engaging in a major battle, which proved to be a poor decision on the defenders' behalf. The trolls charged into the fray, only to be frozen in place by the elven mages, allowing their rangers to bombard the trolls without fear of response, and one elf alone, the younger sister of Alleria Windrunner, Sylvannas, killed over twenty trolls with her own efforts. The mages and elven warriors sliced a bloody swathe through the trolls, routing what was left of their army and seizing the territory they came for. The shattered remnants of the troll army have fled deeper into the woods, hoping to avoid the overwhelming might of the elven armies.
Casualty Lists
Amani Tribe: 100 Warriors, 80 Axe-Throwers, 5 Berserkers, 7 Shamans
Quel'Thalas: 30 Warriors (+100 Lumber; +1 Level for Alleria Windrunner and Anasterian Sunstrider)
THE RISE OF SYLVANNAS WINDRUNNER. The recent great battle in Amani territory has led to the emergence of a new hero for the elven people. The noted and famous ranger, Alleria Windrunner, is one of multiple sisters, and to date she has been the only one to prove her skill and worthiness in battle. In the recent battle, as the elves devastated the ranks of the trolls, Alleria was bested by her younger sister, Sylvannas. Sylvannas, who had been too young for past wars, proved her mettle, not only with a number of skillful shots with her bow, but also in close combat with the trolls as they retreated. Her skills have been told about in the resplendent towns of the elves, and she has truly emerged as a new leader and hero of the high elven people.
ALLIANCE OF THE FOREST TROLLS. After last month's invasion of the Raventusk Tribe by the Amani trolls, the Vilebranch had expressed concern that they would be the next to fall to the resurgent Zul'Aman. Instead, after negotiations, the two tribes have allied, though not unified, and have agreed to fight the armies of the humans. The trolls of the Vilebranch and the Amani have prepared once more to wage war on the humans and elves, preparing their armies for a major campaign. These united warriors have been brought to bear in a new war, as the human city of Tyr's Hand faces an invasion along the coast, and the troll armies push inland.
TROLLS INVADE LORDAERON. The human kingdom of Lordaeron has come under attack this month, as the trolls of the Amani and Vilebranch tribes invaded along the eastern coast. With the fleet focused in the more populated western seas, the humans had nothing to resist, as the trolls quickly brushed aside any local militia and razed the local villages and farmsteads. The trolls have managed to establish a beachhead with their forces amid the ruins of the local homes and villages, while most of the population have fled to the relative safety of the fortress city of Tyr's Hand in the west. The damages have been light overall, and most expect the armies of Lordaeron to soon arrive and set things right, especially with the Amani lands themselves invaded the elves. (+10 Gold for Amani, +10 Gold for Vilebranch)
THE RISE OF JACOB BOLLE. The nation of Stromgarde has begun to be regaled with the exploits of the nation's finest knight, Jacob Bolle. He grew up in the heart of Stromgarde Keep, his father was slain while fighting trolls when he was very young. Ever since he could remember he had been trained as a Knight in hopes to protect Stromgarde and slay the trolls. In the recent battles with the Witherbark trolls, Jacob has proven himself in combat, and has the most recorded killing blows of any of the other knights. King Thoras himself recognized Jacob's valor this year, granting him new titles and a position of high ranking among the soldiers of Stromgarde. He has since travelled to the lands of Stormwind to fight the evil Horde, and no doubt gain even further honor upon his family name.
MODAN HIGHLANDS ERUPTS INTO WAR. The constantly feuding clans of the Modan Highlands have begun fighting this month once again, as the Dunwald Clan began an attempt to claim the whole of the resources of the region for their own. Flynn Dunwald has led his clan into a new battle, and has met with miserable failure, when attempting to launch a full strike at the main Thundermar village. Bringing a full battle to bear, he was outnumbered and far outmatched by his counterpart. Flynn Dunwald engaged in battle with his nemesis in the skies, Colin Thundermar, and in a heated contest, the Thundermar clan leader killed Flynn, smashing his skull with his warhammer and sending him plummeting from the skies. With their leader slain, the will of the Dunwald Clan was utterly broken, and they fled the battlefield, with their army just barely intact. After their horrendous defeat and humiliation, the Dunwald were forced to give up their only mine under the leadership of their new clan leader, Thudde Dunwald.
Casualty Lists
Dunwald: Flynn Dunwald, 20 Warriors, 2 Riflemen, 2 Mortars, 5 Gryphon Riders
Thundermar: 10 Warriors, 5 Riflemen, 5 Gryphon Riders (+1 Level for Colin Thundermar)
DWARVES FORGE NEW LEGENDARY ARMOR. The Dwarves of the Bronzebeard Clan have forged two great artifacts of unknown power and strength. The Ironfist Shield was crafted from rare thorium from the depths of Ironforge, as a sister object to the king's Helm of Honor. The shield was presented as a gift to the king's brother, Muradin Bronzebeard to serve as a sign of affection as well as his own status as a general of the armies. The honor was well received by the dwarves, and the great shield stands as a sign of the bulwark that is Muradin and his warriors. The Helm of Honor was crafted as a symbol of the rank of King Magni Bronzebeard, the powerful of the dwarven rulers of the lands of Khaz Modan. The new helm was forged out of the finest thorium ore mined from the depths of Ironforge. The helm is rumored to possess the full power of the fires of the earth in addition to being a new mark and worthy battle crown for the ruler of the dwarves.
CONSTRUCTION OF FORT BAZJAK. The Bronzebeard Clan has begun extending its influence into the Badlands south of Loch Modan, hoping to establish a bulwark against any invasion from the south. To this end, Muradin Bronzebeard has led an army of the Bronzebeard dwarves into the Badlands to build a new encampment. They have set up a foothold known as Fort Bazjak near the very pathways that lead into the heart of the dwarven realm. After the ancient War of the Three Hammers between the Dark Irons and Bronzebeards, tensions have always been terse between the two clans. It is hoped that the new citadel will discourage any attempts by the Dark Irons to attempt a new reckoning, and help keep them at bay if they do regardless.
THORIUM BROTHERHOOD STRIKES DARK IRONS. Despite the capture of Thorium Point last month by the Dark Irons, the dwarves loyal to Malyfous Darkhammer have continued their fight against the corrupt reign of Dagran Thaurissan. The Brotherhood has launched several raids into Dark Iron territory, and have had astonishing success. Darkhammer has proven to be an ingenious leader, eluding Dark Iron patrols and silently cutting his way through enemy defenses. He has yet to lose a single soldier to combat, defeating local Dark Iron garrisons, and raiding the mines all throughout the territory of the Searing Gorge. With each victory the Brotherhood has become stronger, retreating to their territories safely near the new Fort Bazjak.
Casualty Lists
Dark Iron Clan: 30 Warriors
Thorium Brotherhood: (+300 Gold; +1 Level for Malyfous Darkhammer)
THE PROMOTION OF ANGERFORGE. The Dark Iron dwarves held a gala ceremony this month in Blackrock Spire as Dagran Thaurissan promoted one of his finest warriors to the rank of general. The new General Angerforge is a warrior of some renown, nearly distinguishing himself in the fighting for Thorium Point. The move has been seen as a response to a shakeup in the hopes of restoring confidence after the devastating Darkhammer raids against the mines of Searing Gorge. General Angerforge has vowed that under his leadership, the armies of the Dark Iron Clan will smash any enemy or threat which dares to intrude into the borders of the mightiest of the dwarven clans.
DALARAN MAGES VIEW THE HORDE. The mages of Dalaran now in Stormwind have made a supreme effort for the allied cause against the invading Horde. Casting their magics in unison with similar efforts back in Dalaran itself, the mages have broken visibility spells by the Horde, and created a map of the regions of conflict, with every individual orc and troll soldier shown. This great map has been established in both a tower in Dalaran and in Stormwind, allowing the rulers of these nations to see every move the Horde makes, both this month and for the foreseeable future until both towers fall or the spellcasters of the Horde break the spell. A similar spell was cast in the hopes of being able to view the actions and spells of the powerful wizard Medivh, but was brushed aside easily, as the mages of Dalaran were only able to get the slightest inkling of Medivh's latest magical efforts. It is clear that he is summoning something, but no one is sure what.
THE RISE OF FORMAK. The Bleeding Hollow Clan of the Orcish Horde has revered one of its members this year, a spearman of some note known as Formak. Formak has seen considerable success in the recent battles, distinguishing himself in the ongoing siege of Fort Deadwind. He has at last been recognized for his strong throwing arm and skill in melee combat against the human scum. Kilrogg Deadeye himself has recognized Formak's new position within the Bleeding Hollow Clan, acclaiming him as one of the great warriors of the orc race. Formak has gone on to fight in the continuing siege against the fort, as the human armies continue their futile stand against the might of the Horde.
THE INVASION OF REDRIDGE. For the past month, the war between orcs and humans has been focused upon the siege of Fort Deadwind, but that has all changed. A new theater has been opened as the Frostwolf Clan pours south into Redridge from the Burning Steppes. These mostly mounted warriors, upon their great dire wolves, have plunged into Redridge against a significantly smaller human army. Faced with a tiny force before them, the Frostwolves plunged into the fray, attacking the town of Lakeshire, where the local army had fortified their position. The local militiamen bolstered the army, but they were still outnumbered nearly three to one by the orcish soldiers. The orcs poured over the walls and the Raiders ran down any civilians or soldiers trying to escape, though the few knights present fought a losing battle to protect the peasantry. The knights themselves were wiped out. There were few bright moments for the people of Stormwind, as the two mages present managed to cause substantial damage, as did the dedicated crews of two catapults. It was for naught though, as only a few devastated survivors have managed to flee to the west into the Elwynn Forest. The whole of the province of Redridge then fell to the orcish sword and torch, burning the towns and villages of the region into ash, and slaughtering the human residents foolish enough to fight. The loss of Redridge has been a major blow to Stormwind's cause, as the Frostwolf Clan encamps in the still smoldering ruins of Lakeshire.
Casualty Lists
Frostwolf Clan: 150 Warriors, 70 Spearmen, 40 Raiders(+300 Gold, +200 Lumber; +1 Level for Durotan)
Stormwind: 120 Warriors, 30 Archers, 8 Knights, 2 Mages, 15 Clerics, 2 Catapults
KHADGAR AVOIDS ASSASSINATION. While the siege of Fort Deadwind continued, the skirmishing was persistent and vicious. The assassin of the Twilight's Hammer Clan, Garona managed to penetrate the walls in an attempt to bring an end to her former friend, the mage Khadgar. Using a ruse to get close to Khadgar, promising information on the Horde, Garona managed to bring her dagger close to his heart. Khadgar narrowly avoided the attempt upon his life, managing to use enough protective wards and magic to force Garona away. Unfortunately attempts to track down the assassin failed, and she managed to escape back to the siege lines, her mission incomplete.
TROLLS ATTEMPT NEW RAID INTO SOUTHERN ELWYNN. The Gurubashi trolls have once more taken advantage of the human distractions in the east, invading the southern portion of Elwynn Forest in an attempt to loot the areas towns and resources. Unfortunately they had the bad timing to meet a substantial army of knights lead by Alonsus Faol and supported by a large expeditionary force from Kul Trias on their way to relieve Fort Deadwind. Aware of the troll invasion force, thanks to the efforts of vision created by the mages of Dalaran, Stormwind's army managed to bring the trolls to battle in the open on the fields of the Yorgen farmstead. With nearly two hundred and fifty knights at their back, the human armies laid into the troll raiding forces in the open, with no cover for the raiders. This allowed them to utterly smash the troll forces, and scatter them to the woods. The trolls inflicted very few casualties in this initial battle, but fought a number of minor skirmishes throughout the woods as they retreated back into the jungle. These smaller skirmishes proved slightly more successful, allowing them to trade more evenly in combat against the human warriors. The troll shamans also successfully managed to conceal the escape, having been unscathed in the opening battle.
Casualty Lists
Gurubashi Tribe: 75 Warriors, 30 Axe-Throwers, 6 Berserkers
Kul Tiras: 15 Warriors
Stormwind: 10 Warriors, 10 Knights (+1 Level for Alonsus Faol)
THE FALL OF FORT DEADWIND. The human armies have been pinned in the stronghold of Fort Deadwind, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the relief forces from Westfall and Stormwind itself. The Horde has quickly bombarded the fort with massive magics, culminating in a massive blast of fire from the Twilight's Hammer warlocks. The mages remaining in the fort did their best to withstand this assault, but were unable to muster up the ability to match nearly ten times their number of orc spellcasters. The warlock blast managed to blow a large hole in the wall of the fort, opening a door which the armies of the orcs began to pour through. The humans fought valiantly especially as Khadgar and a few of his chosen mages fought a final stand in the keep's tower, flinging fire and frost to allow the main army to escape. Khadgar was lost in the battle, along with those who fought in the tower with him, as the Horde pummeled it with magic and catapults. He did, however, manage to inflict a searing blow upon the Blackrock warrior Orgrim Doomhammer, badly injuring him with a blast of fire. The relief armies arrived too late, but they managed to regroup with those who had fled the fort's fall, rallying at the town of Grand Hamlet and awaiting the follow-up attacks of the Horde.
Casualty Lists
Blackrock Clan: 520 Warriors, 115 Spearmen, 2 Catapults, (+50 Gold, +50 Lumber; -1 Level for Orgrim Doomhammer; +1 Level for Blackhand)
Bleeding Hollow Clan: 120 Warriors, 25 Spearmen, 1 Catapult (+50 Gold, +50 Lumber; +1 Level for Kilrogg Deadeye and Formak)

Stormwind: Khadgar, 420 Warriors, 190 Archers, 20 Knights, 10 Mages, 32 Clerics, (+1 Level for Anduin Lothar)
THE REBIRTH OF KHADGAR. As the ashes of Fort Deadwind smoldered, the Twilight's Hammer Clan picked through the ashes, looking for the body of the great mage who had given pause to even the powerful Cho'gall. The broken body of Khadgar was found in the rubble of the ruined citadel's mage tower, and the casters of the Twilight's Hammer began a new foul ritual. Pouring immense magic of necromancy into the body of the fallen human, Cho'gall was able to drag back the soul of the mage and force his body into an abhorrent shape of undeath. Khadgar has been bound by the magics of the Twilight's Hammer into this new shape to serve as a lich servant of Cho'gall, and is truly powerful. He is felt constantly probing his bonds, and is said to be in the immense pain of living death, forced to inflict his newfound power upon those who were in life, his friends.
THE SIEGE OF GRAND HAMLET. The fall of Fort Deadwind has very nearly opened up the whole of southern Elwynn to the orcish Horde, but the fortified town of Grand Hamlet and the main army of the kingdom of Stormwind continues to stand in the way. As the Twilight's Hammer performed their dark rituals in the ruins of the fallen human keep, the rest of the Horde pushed to the northwest, and began besieging Grand Hamlet. Thanks to the timely arrival of the army of Alonsus Faol and Kul Tiras, the humans were brought back up to considerable strength, with the added advantage of being able to see every move thanks to the efforts of the mages of Dalaran. Therefore, when the orc attack first came, the humans were able to quickly and efficiently respond to every probe they made, beating them back time and again. Both the warchief Blackhand and the chieftain Killrogg Deadeye of the Bleeding Hollow were badly wounded during this fight, knocking them out of the combat and also forcing their clans to withdraw prematurely. This has proven a victory for the humans, who have not only held the walls, but pushed the orc catapults back out of range of the town.
Casualty Lists
Blackrock Clan: 210 Warriors, 60 Spearmen, 4 Catapults (-1 Level for Blackhand)
Bleeding Hollow Clan: 200 Warriors, 40 Spearmen, 3 Catapults (-1 Level for Killrogg Deadeye; +1 Level for Formak)
Kul Tiras: 40 Warriors, 5 Archers
Stormwind: 180 Warriors, 20 Archers, 40 Knights, 3 Catapults (+1 Level for Anduin Lothar and Alonsus Faol)
GOBLINS SET UP CAMP IN SOUTHERN STRANGLETHORN. The outbreak of war has attracted the interest of an unusual group of beings from the unusual island of Kezan. While most of the goblins have refused to get involved in any political affairs, preferring to live a life of mercantilism, with trade fleets across the world, the Steamwheedle Cartel has arrived in the continent of Azeroth. The Cartel has arrived with substantial amounts of guards and support, hoping to gain a major profit from the massive hostilities currently being waged across the human kingdom of Stormwind. They have been in search of raw materials and have since landed in southern Stranglethorn, setting up a major encampment in a sheltered cove known as Booty Bay. They have easily driven off the Skullsplitter trolls who had been encamped there, and have brought to bear powerful weapons against any that have tried to return.
