Interesting to see that the Nazi **** in your game conquered a huge area of communist Russia.
I´m looking forward to the new version and our multiplayer game.

Thanks! It should be ready soon...:)

I played as the Chinese today - The Germans conquered as far as Moscow, and then Stalin fought back...The battle was swinging back and forth across the Balkans.
Pretty intense action all round, as I slowly pushed the Japanese back out of the mainland China...A good challenge. Felt nice to liberate Peking and Shanghai!

Another new playthrough today with the new unit tweaks and events, I took command of the Neutrals, playing as "Baron de Rothschild" (hoho!) and watched in awe as the Germans and Soviets battled it out (Stalin attacked first) and then slowly, Russia gained the upper-hand. The deluge of red troops poured into the reich, and by the end of 1942, they had taken Paris! This kicked off the "unthinkable" event where war with the USSR and the Allies breaks out...The USA just grabbed Brest and Nantes...Fortifying it with a ton of armor...It's getting very interesting...

My prediction? Until the atom bombs fall, there will be no stopping the red menace...I think they will win WW3!

Jan 1944 - Check out this Hell on Earth!

Dec 1945 - What a world (war)!

The neutral nations have been liberating many cities from Japan, and are using the most modern weapons in the world. Paid with our vast gold reserves. Crewed by international soldiers.

Western Europe is under the control of the USA and Britain...Their combined air forces are unstoppable...The Soviets are battling with all their might.
Each turn is like a wagnerian inferno of air attacks, and is exciting to see the great WW3 battles swing in the balance...The Allies are gaining ground.

The coast of Eastern China has been freed, and the Chinese took Peking under the wings of US bomber attacks. Tojo's time and running out.
On a Palembang-based carrier, the first atom bomb built by our neutral business interests is heading north to the Japanese home islands...

Baron de Rothschild is about to send the Eastern aggressors a fine gift!

This sounds very interesting.
It looks like the AI is currently much more aggressive and expansive than in my gameplay.
Palembang is blessed by huge amount of oil fields. I used the city for fast unit recruitings for my Australia campaign.

Yep - Palembang is a war factory when the tiles are fully developed. Also, I found that changing the AA battery unit's stats to less than that
of the standard infantry units (but with more defence/firepower) it made the AI change tactics to mass attacks with aircraft and paras.

In my playthrough, I switched from neutral to declaring all-out war on Stalin, and joined the three-way armageddon war along with the Allies.
So the combined might of the USA, British Empire, and the vast neutral nations are only starting to push Stalin back - It's a war of jets, giant
battleships, strategic bombers and behind it all, the A-bomb is waiting to be dropped by one of the big powers...

They are all no doubt building one - The question is - Who will unleash them first?

No SDI defence in this scenario...! :D

To be honest, this scenario has been the most enjoyable CIV2 gaming I have had for ages...
Not blowing my own horn, but I think I have created a very fun grand WW2 campaign...
(With your help Civ2Units, for taking the first plunge!)

Still no doubt many things to iron out...But it is almost ready for play!

Here we are at Dec 1948 - The "neutral" war machine spearheads the liberation of Bohemia and the Balkans! Not to mention the complete takeover of Finland, Japan, and Iraq!

Looking forward to our game! If you're having fun playing your own scenario that's usually a good sign! I feel like most of the time I play my own, I cant get past a few turns without deciding to change something.

The last map look much more better then the one where the Soviets conquered most of Europe.:D
Did the American AI landed by itself in Europe or did you realized American troops in Europe via events?

@civ2units
The Overlord event kicked in when the USA got the required techs, and landed a large force onto France...The UK helped with their never-ending RAF attacks!

@JPetroski
It's the irrigation. It works for me, but people are open to change it to what works for their eyes. :)

I am currently doing a playtest as the 3rd Reich - Since it was time to try out the bad guys! I decided to play as Herman Goring, with the backstory
that Hitler had a stroke, and "Der Kaiser Herman" stepped in to run the war. I can tell you the play is much harder than I thought, which is good.

Germany has a terrible economy, so you have to sneak out freight past the ever vigilant British Empire, who hammer you every turn...A great challenge...!
Making money in the meantime involves sinking ships for loot, and looting cities you capture. And the giant soviet lands await to be plundered.

I've re-written the entire Barbarossa events for Germany and Russians, simplifying them and avoiding the "unit attack" mess of the previous event frameworks.
Now the attack will happen when the reich gains the "total war" tech (which is being researched at the start) or when the USSR gains the partisan warfare tech.
Both regimes are basically on a 6-8 turn countdown to war at the start of the scenario, which can sped up or slowed down, but happens more organically now.

So I am now in summer 1941, the event kicked off nicely, and the Russians had their counter attack event a few turns later. So it felt more like a flowing situation,
rahter than two huge attack events appearing due to one unit being killed. I have captured many Western Russian cities, with it seeming very easy! But just like
real history, as Moscow is coming into range, the masses of T-34s and bombers have arrived and the counterstrikes are taking their toll...Just as I planned it.

The invasion feels about right in terms of difficulty, and this is even without the USSR being boosted with many events-spawned units. It bodes well for the
Russian and German versions, where the opposition is more tailored and heavy. So I will report how things go. I am considering breaking out of my South
England beach-head and taking London, but that brings in the USA for the war, which is a whole new can of whoop-ass for the reich!

Feels weird playing the most evil faction (apart from the USSR) but I want to make sure the experience for all factions works well, so I look forward
to trying out the USA and the mass-unit management hell of the British! I'll keep you guys posted! And thanks of you read all of this massive post!

August 1941 - First serious Soviet counterattack - Ouch!

Assault troops and T-34s unleashed some hell around Sevastopol - A satisfyingly nasty surprise from Uncle Joe!
Killed a few panzers and dented the lovely Germanic paintwork of many entrenched tanks! Another thing I found
is that air defence units are key in this scenario...The AI loves bombing raids and will make you suffer heavily.

The Soviets followed up with fast moving partisans to grab my badly-manned city of Mosul in Iraq...Damn! :D
My vengeance strike will be merciless...I am sending in der Fallschirmjaegers and Me-110 zerstorers!
(Now I seem to be getting into the mood of playing the dastardly reich!)

Oct 1941 - London, Moscow and Stalingrad taken!

A fitting theme tune:

Many casualties taken, but Goring is proving a better leader than his previous boss!
Germany's focus on tanks, air power and paratroops gives better results,
but now we must dig in and weather the Soviet storm that no doubt will come!

B-17s also sighted, and the USA just developed the super battleship tech...:(

London under control of the Third Reich. Never thought that the Royal Air Force could be defeated by the Luftwaffe.
In my gameplay the Luftwaffe never had any serious chance to win the Battle of Britain.

Good game you are playing. And good to see that the events for nearly all factions working very well. I'm sure this will be a very funny and great multiplayer game.

Cool - The Chinese game is quite challenging - I will prepare the latest version into zips and send them on Wed to you.
If you can drop me an email on Wed, then it will save me searching you out on my mail...Cheers!

PS
As of 1946, Japan is bogged down, but losing cities as the US airpower is taking the toll.

Under Goring, I have changed government to a republic, (thanks for the tech, Neutrals!) expanded the German empire to the Urals,
and am currently fending off US air attacks from Greenland, and in a massive struggle with the British in East Africa, but I am winning...
Tiger tanks, luftwaffe paratroops and Junkers 390 bombers are the spearheads of my armed forces...It's a global arm-wrestle match.

BTW - The Do-335 Pfeil is a great weapon for screening tank stacks and is a good bomber-killer.
You'll need it when those Lancasters start roving in the skies!
