Pre-turn
Changed Mathematics to Map Making.
WTH, I mined and roaded the bonus grass next to Persepolis but now it's unimproved!?! Who pillaged Persepolis? It had nothing to do with Iron access.
Micromanaged Susa. They have no decent squares to work till the border expands. If they grow again that citizen will just starve. By working the mountain they are stable and get the temple 13 turns sooner.
After pillaging the road to Arbela through the Iron, the adjacent grassland should have been roaded to keep Arbela hooked up and allow us to move settlers/troops through there.
Arbela changed to granary.
1) 975BC
Antioch worker->granary. new worker will mine Antioch's BG while worker that just hooked up Antioch and incense will go replace Persepolis pillaged BG.
2) 950BC
Persepolis Settler->Warrior.
3) 925BC
Pasargadae spear->worker.
4) 900BC
Persepolis warrior->warrior. I see a barb horse and move immortal towards him, will track down camp.
(IT) Barb horse attacks immortal and dies without injuring our immortal.
5) 875BC
Aztecs just got map making. I give them Code of Laws for Map Making, Philosophy, and 35 gold. They accept our "gracious offer", lol. I turn around and give Philosophy to Hammurabi for his entire treasury of 31 gold and Code of Laws to the Iroquois for their entire treasury of 50 gold. We now have 300 gold and can discard the no research on warlord strategy. Mathematics in 10 with +3gpt.
6) 850BC
Persepolis warrior->warrior.
7) 825BC
2 forests chopped down both revealing BG
8) 800BC
Persepolis warrior->warrior. Pasargadae worker->settler.
9) 775BC
10) 750BC
America forces me to declare war by dangling a settler w/ elite warrior right before my immortal. We enter a golden age and claim 2 workers. Persepolis warrior->warrior. Barb camp dispersed for 25 gold.
11) 730BC
12) 710BC
Persepolis warrior->spear. Begin roading iron.
13) 690BC
Math->Currency.
14) 670BC
Susa temple->barracks. Arbela changed to barracks, with 2 irrigated wheat it will do fine without a granary and can get barracks next turn without wasting shields.
15) 650BC
Arbela barracks->spear. The 5 warriors at Arbela and 1 at Persepolis become Immortals and will head to the front, other warriors head to upgrade. Persepolis spear->spear.
16) 630BC
Pasargadae settler->settler.
17) 610BC
Persepolis spear->spear.
18) 590BC
5 immortals take up position in mountains next to Boston.
19) 570BC
We lose no immortals taking Boston. 1 immortal is injured. 2 enemy spears were killed and 1 worker captured. Boston starts producing a worker.
20) 550BC
1 immortal was still in the mountain after killing the first enemy spear, he now enters Boston. the 3 uninjured and ready to go wait for next turn so 4 of them can continue, the fifth will stay in Boston until healed.
Synopsis
I played 20 turns mainly because I declared war on my 10th turn and wanted to get a plan of attack in motion. I also wanted to get our terrain improved in better shape.
The settler N of Tarsus is travelling with an immortal for now. Keep him going with an immortal or a spearman to the coastal tile 5 tiles SE of Tarsus. I know it's a BG but that won't matter after once the town becomes a city.
Remember that attacking across a river gives the defender a +25% to defense. Tarsus is at a river bend where attackers will suffer a penalty. Conversely if you attack from Tarsus you will be attacking across a river +25% and attacking a jungle square +25%, something to keep in mind.
