Palin Speech: I smell fear.

Then you must have a very odd elephant dung fetish to keep that smell in your house.
I guess you dont get the analogy that I am making here. Elephants = The Republican Party Mascot.

Source? Just look at the op of this thread for starters.
Just because a person does not like nor agree with a person politicaly makes em intolerant?!

You, yourself have admitted to an irrational hated of republicans to the point of uncontrollability.
Actually, I don't. I just simply dislike other Republicans who blindly follow Bush like a party zombie

Hell, CivG...you ARE part of the source.
Hey, I did not placed any jabs against you buddy and yet you are resorting to argumentum ad hominem against me? How low can you get.

C'mon MobBoss, you're better than that and grown up not to stoop down to the level of rioters in St. Paul.

Ah...that would be a no, buckaroo.
And why is that a no? What makes not extending hate crime laws to homosexuals not intolerant but yet you see liberals intolerant when infact they are for tolerance.

Because leftys, while crying about tolerance, are the most intolerant people on the planet.

Tho I do find the humor in this, that is petty much a human trait. It's generally no more indicative to one group of people over another.

But now thinking about it, I think is this because no one knew much about her before a week ago. So all this info about her come out at once. While 80% of all that ended up being BS, some people developed a negative emotional heuristic responds to her.

It stupid and non-descriptive. Everyone has special needs , because we're all unique persons.

Well, when every previous technical term for a person possessing substandard mental faculties gets turns into a pejorative, eventually you're going to get some pretty pathetic-sounding labels. The same thing has happened for racial slurs too. The process only stops when the new 'proper phrase' is so lame that nobody want to hijack it.

I smell fear from the republicans. all attack, no message. do republicans have a plan besides being the anti obama? this didn't show it.

Speaking as someone who was in the special education system himself, special needs can be exploited just as much as welfare.

Why on earth would anybody do that? I mean, welfare, sure... free money. But what could you possibly gain by being falsely labeled as having a disability?

Ha! That'll never stop it! In 10 years, we'll be insulting people as having special needs. Hell, it's being done already.

Double time on SAT tests! :smug:

I wonder the same thing. But all I see are just a bunch of monkeys throwing feces at people.

I've already seen 'differently abled'. Steal that, I dare you.

(By the way, I am in no way defending that. As someone with autism in the family, that makes even me retch.)

Its not a double standard because Obama's daughters are not retards or bastard-bearers and so it would be insulting if he talked about them that way.
Oh come on. You pegged her as "just another member of the PC brigade" on that ONE COMMENT. But you know perfectly well that if Barack Obama were to talk about Palin's children in public, he'd probably use effectively the same words - because it's generally not considered polite to call children ******** on national television. And if recognizing that makes you a "member of the PC brigade," then I'd say most public figures are card carrying members, including the presidential and VP nominees of both parties. I'm not saying that's good, and I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying they're all the same in this area, and it's unfair to judge Palin based on that, but not Obama or Biden or McCain or whoever.

Of course, you're entitled to whatever political opinion you like, fair or not. But I thought you were, in theory anyway, above all this crass partisanship. ;)

We he'd at least call it Down's syndrome instead of this "special needs" trash.

Of course he is! He doesn't need stupid partisanship, he's crass just for the sake of crassness!

seriously, wake me up when palin is doing something beyond spawning or making attacks against obama. the more mccains campaign offers up hollow (and lying) attacks the more it shows they haven't a vision for the future.

Blame the American people for that. It's been proven time and time again that negative adds work more then positive ones. In case you haven't noticed, the Dems attack just as much. Why, because it works.

More liberal-hating content from the usual 'liberal' poster. Man, you could work for the conservatives.

The hate probably stems from the obvious hypocrisy that is at play here. "No sex before marriage unless you're a whore, but if a Christian girl does it we should support her as good Christians." We have self-righteous pricks rushing to defend a weak link for their own interests. What's not to like? ;)

And, of course, taking reference from a bunch of high school students, who apparently love to party, paints a very accurate picture of the political situation. Maybe partying does affect intelligence.

And now the American have a viable candidate with vision, ability, and goals who has taken the moral high road and told the press, the American public to lay off the family. The entire message of Obama has been change and hope and he' proven to be a class act unlike the Republican side in this. It's actually really cool to watch.

If the American public wants negative, Obama doesn't need to lift a finger and say it, because it's already gonna be out there.

Anyway, the speech was a whole lot about her family and nothing more than McCain has ever said, from what I hear.

I reccomend going to youtube tomorrow and watching the speech for yourself first before you try to rip it. I found it to be quite compelling and had some good specific economic/energy substance in it, which you don't hear John McCain talk too much about. Being a governer, the way she presented the agenda on those issues sounded 100% more convincing and competent than all the 3 Senators broad generalized mentionings.

By the way, can't the rest of you people try and show some class? I'd wager that some of you might be bastards yourselves... talk to your mom. And while you're with her, listen to her when she tells you to stop acting like a pregudiced juvenile. I probably hit a sour note with those comments, but that's good. Hopefully you'd be smart enough to get the point. And that's Hope I can believe in.

By the way, speaking of hypocracy... isn't Bill Clinton a democratic superstar for getting a BJ in the White House? Yet those same people are criticising some one else for their daughter getting pregnant and deciding to marry the father... whom which, unlike Billy boy, isn't even the person running for office. Tell me now... can you control every decision a sister, brother, son, or daughter, or any other relative makes? Ever heard of individuality and free will? Did you ever listen to everything your parents told you? I'm sure the girls parents are exremely disapointed how their first grandchild is being braught into the world. But they can't make their daughters actions and decisions for her. All they CAN do however is turn a disapointment into a joy for their family. What, do you want them to dis-own their daughter? Give me a freaking break. By the way, isn't this the same "social freedoms" that democrats promote? And they want to send this girl and her mother to the butcherer for it? Now that's hypocracy for you.

PS: If you don't want to be judged, then don't judge others. Also how can you pull the plank out from your buddies eye when there's a plank stuck in your own eye?

I say live and let live.
