The poll is pretty self explanatory. No more polls where you need to think. Just shovel that sugary non-nutritious food into my mouth please. I'll include an other option, but really I'm just looking for what you choose between those three options. I only include other for foreigners that don't have American style breakfast options where they live. And I'd rather not compare these foods to cold cereals, they aren't similar enough to be included in the option.

Feel free to discuss any different things you like to put on your pancakes, waffles, or french toast. I'm traditional in that I like only syrup and a little butter. Often I go without butter as well. I've tried different toppings, and it's just not the same.

I don't care if it kills me, the western diet is the only way to go. They'll have to pry those pancakes out of my cold, dead hands. :D

BTW my answer is French toast with pancakes a close second. Although french toast can sometimes vary depending on what type of bread you use. I'd say they are the best thing to come out of France (actually I have no idea if they were created there, probably not).

A waffle done right is a great way to start the day. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Goes great with savoury foods too.

Agree entirely. The different uses of waffles are underrated.

It can be breakfast on it's on, made into something savory, or you can have it with some ice cream and have a great dessert.

If I'm cooking, then french toast. Simply because it's the easiest, and I don't typically have the stuff on hand to make the others. If I'm out I'm more likely to order pancakes.

I'm waffling between pancakes and waffles. /stupid pun

I wouldn't say it's completely straightforward. These things, and especially pancakes have completely different meanings in other parts of the world(as you have mentioned).

Anyway, I prefer waffles

edit: I've vacationed in the US for a total of over 3 months, so I have actually tried out quite a few American breakfasts. Americans take their breakfasts more seriously than I'm used to.

I like traditional British pancakes the best. Mmmm...

Belgian Waffles and American pancakes are nice too though.

Don't much care for Freedom Toast.

I don't know if I prefer pancakes or waffles, both are pretty damn delicious with butter, maple syrup, jam, and/or other delicious condiments. Pancakes are easier to make into various shapes though.

French toast is also very good, although I have never really been fond of that white powdery sugar a lot of restaurants like to put on it.

That is a tough call.

Ultimately, I'd have to say that pancakes are my favourite. I prefer the flat surface as compared to waffles as it facilitates better syrup coverage. French toast is close second to pancakes, especially if all done up with fancy bread and toppings. Waffles: still good, but a firm third place.

French toast made with texas toast is the undisputed champion, but I voted for Pancakes.

French toast is the best, but only if rarely eaten. Waffles are the best if you will be eating them more than once per month. Pancakes are terrible and only enjoyed if never eaten.

THIS IS A TOUGH QUESTION.

I love all three, and Chicken and Waffles is really damn underrated, but I think pound for pound, I have to go with delicious pancakes. THEY'RE SO VERSATILE

When I was in LA last, I went to Roscoes due to its fame. I still don't get that combination at all. Now, pineapple and pizza is UNDERRATED.
